I did not like Capaldi initially, compared to the other’s from the reboot. But man, did that change! I think he - and Jenna - were the crown of DW! The Doctor did love Clara so much. As he helped her even as she betrayed him with the Tardis key. As he kneeled for her live in front of Davros. And then, as he endured millions of years of torture to not deliver her to the timelords. I’m crying. And the scene, where Clara just says that he changed his mind - to help the people - just because the child stopped crying. And she simply knew that!!!!
To be perfectly honest, Series 9 is my favourite of the Capaldi era. Not just the increase in two-parters and longer storytelling, but also the dynamic bonding between the Doctor and Clara. Highly underrated from start to finish!
