Flashbacks of my childhood. Year by year more and more of the "branches" disappeared. My brother, cousins and I, would have sword fights with them. The 70's 🗡🎄 🗡😂😂
Beautiful. It looks like one from my childhood in the 60s. We didn't have the light wheel, but dad put twinkle lights around the picture window and made a table to set the tree on. They'd load it up with Shiny Brite ornaments and handmade ones. I acquired the tree as an adult and a few years ago after both my parents were gone I found a big bag in their attic with all the decorations in it.
I bought a modern tinsel tree last Christmas, and put all of my 1960s ornaments on it along with favorite newer ones. I’m looking forward to putting it up again this year.
I love your page because with have tones on photos of my grandparents, dad and aunt from the 50s and 60s but they’re all in black and white and it’s just nice to see what their tree may have looked like in color
@@SewRenawe love our family ornaments. My children get a new one each year so that they can start out their adulthood with precious Christmas decor. LOVE this vintage tree ❤ Happy Holidays
My aunt and uncle had this tree through the 60s into the 80s. This really makes me remember visiting their house for Christmas and so much love between our two families. I hope you will have many loving memories with this tree and your family!
That was the only type of tree we had! My entire childhood was aluminum trees, with red, gold and blue bulbs, and the rotating light underneath! I thought it was beautiful!
My family had one of those trees and light wheel when I was really young. I got burnt on the wheel trying to set it back up after it accidentally got knocked over. Such fond childhood memories 😊
We had the green version of this but it was the 70s 🥰❤ 🌲 . ❤ the 🎶 Have you ever taken the kids to see the Nutcracker ? ❤ Your tree skirt is very special! 🩷
back in the day we had that same tree. my dad built a wooden base with a little picket fence around it. we had two of the revolving lights one for each side. mom would put the cotton down to look like snow. we had a train set that would go around the village she set up. you'd sit for hours looking at the tree change colors and all the old ornaments she collected from the 30's, 40's and 50's. my parents friends had the same tree in the 60's. they decorated there tree a different color every year. I loved the Barbie pink one she did one year with the silk ornaments had no idea where she got the revolving lights to match. great memories.
I was the same way, as I got older. I wanted a green tree. Now I'd love to go back to the 50s and 60s, to see my you g parents, my family and old friends, and that aluminum tree. We had a color wheel on each side, which gave it a neat effect when they would rotate at slightly different speeds. My father and I were both quite nearsighted, and we would take our glasses off to see the tree as a different, big, blurry, and overall splendid sight. I remember screaming in joy for the rest of my family to come and see, only to discover that just we two nearsighted people could see the glorious blurry lights. Thanks for the memories.
I haven’t read the other posts… But that rotating light gets so hot; it worries me. I bought those tiny lights on a wire that run on battery for mine. They put off no heat and look fantastic!
@@SewRena Thank you! I showed my mom your video. She grew up in the 50’s and I could see the joy in her face watching you put the tree together. I want to try and surprise her with one for Christmas this year

My mom would have painted your back porches red 70s style .
@@romarose Ya, our moms did. But my mom, she preferred a wooden spoon.
@@GreenPaganWitch my mom liked the slipper. LoL. And for really bad stuff the belt.

I love it. My Grandma had that tree in the 60s. Happy Holidays!
Neighbours had this tree in their window. I loved watching it change colours. I thought it was so magical. I love it.

Me too, it looks very original-series star trek
You know you old when you remember the tree and the lighting😊😊😊
Oh the 70's. I played with light for years after we got rid of the tree. Thank you for the memories
My neighbors had one of these when I was growing up! I was mesmerized by it! It was so cool and still is!😃
They are so pretty 🫶🏾
I. Have had my 2 trees for 30+ years.
I never thought to UT branches in with paper still on them !! What a great idea🎉
It really helps especially not to accidentally cut your hands
Ahhh my childhood Christmas tree❤ my uncle gave it to me for my first Christmas and we used it for many years. Thank you for reminding me 💕
I actually like it. I do themed Christmas trees each year and I will add this one to my list ❤.
I grew up with themed Christmas trees and I prefer to decorate with what I love so I don’t have to keep buying.

OMG!! This brings back memories! So glad we left it in the past!😂😂😂
Omg the color wheel. I can't be getting old lol..so many memories.

Oh my goodness, did this bring back memories! My aunt had this same set up. Love that you posted this.
My mom had one when I was 4 years old I still remember it like it was yesterday
Ww had one of these when I was growing up. I think we put it up one year then never again!! I didn’t miss it!!
Oh wow! They aren’t for everyone but they are so valuable now.
The cardboard tubes are GENIUS, more trees should come with those (or a giant one to put the whole tree in!)
I also wanted one of those. I absolutely love it so much.
I remember I once had a white tree!! Was so cool. We didn't have money for one and a family friend gave it to us. So many memories!
Oh-my Gramma’s tree! I LOVED that sucker!!!🎄🎄🎄
OMG!! We had one growing up…we also had the color wheel behind it…oh the memories!!!❤❤❤
You are ADORABLE.
Very nices ❤😘🌲🍒💖Happy Holiday
So pretty!
We had one when I was a kid. 😊
My in-laws have one of these trees, complete with the rotating floor light. They are a blast from the past.
Adorable! 🦋🧡
I have not seen either the tree or the colour changer before, what a great idea! So neat.
very cute. i like this style.

Oh that is such a precious Christmas tree, I’ve never seen one like that before 🥺 The ornaments really stand out on it too!
💕💕 thank you! I have two of them and they are one of my favorite vintage pieces in my collection.
Oh the memories of Christmas at my paternal Grandmother's home❤😊

Unique content love it. You suit the part so well.
Perfectionist you are, it pays.
you are the best!!! My Nana had this tree!
Absolutely love this! ❤
I put lights on some of my larger houseplants. I like how this is beautifully the opposite direction ❤
I love adding decorations to house plants
Beautiful
I love it ❤️
I have an aluminum tree. It's the first thing to go up every Christmas.
My childhood! We had one and it was my job to assemble. Amd disassemble.
That’s so cute!
Okay
Cool😊
Love it!
I ❤ it!
Ha....now I feel old. We definitely had one really similar when I was a kid! A left over from my mum's youth I think! 😂😂
Does it have that nostalgic old artificial Christmas tree smell they all seem to get😆 Christmas ain't the same without that attic smell in our house.
No aluminum doesn’t really hold smell
My Italian Nona had that a tree exactly like that, adorable♥️
My granny had 1 just like that. We've got lots a Christmas pics from around it.
I remember this xmas tree bulbs & light woooow ok

We had one of these when I was growing up. It was on a turn style and the light circulated underneath it.
That’s the same tree and color wheel we had growing up. I always wanted a real tree, but that brings back good memories.
We still get a real tree it goes in my bedroom with the glass ornaments so the kids can’t get to them

I remember we had one my mom loved it ❤
i had the same 4 ft tree in my apartment...and each stem was kept in waxy paper when stored.
Isn't a real aluminum tree the christmas dream? Your tree looks beautiful
This makes Charlie Brown sad 😂 it’s beautiful though!
Wow we also used to have the lights
Oddly satisfying
🎄
We used to have one of those trees
You need to get yourself some of the Christopher Radko Shiny Brites, they're great reproductions of those in the past.
I would love to see such a tree in germany
My friend Rocco has the light projector to the one that was his parents from the 1950s
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Get the biggest aluminum tree you can find, Charlie Brown, maybe painted pink!! 🎄
Flashbacks to when I was 3 or 4 yrs old
I haven’t read the other posts… But that rotating light gets so hot; it worries me. I bought those tiny lights on a wire that run on battery for mine. They put off no heat and look fantastic!
That’s cool. it’s not recommended to put string lights on it. They have modern reproduction color wheels or you could change the bulb in yours to led
I had no idea! Thanks! I think the string lights are led; that’s why they’re ok lion the ‘aluminum’.
❤❤❤
👏👏👏♥️
We still had our until I was about 13. I’m 58 😂😂😂😂
❤️
That was my tree growing up
Oh my goodness! Where in the world did you get that? My aunt had one complete w the light!
I have two one was from eBay (this one) the other from an antique store that’s also where I got the color wheel
Rena, where did you buy it?
So this is the aluminum tree they were talking about in Charlie Brown Christmas 😂
I remember those trees especially the revolving light. That light would burn you. Now find some working bubble lights and it’s done
Oh, I miss bubble lights! I look for them, but there’s never more than six or so to a strand on the modern ones.
Yup! You sure do haha! Nice! By the way, looks like new old stock no?
It looks cute. And painful.
MY MOTHER HAD AN ALUMINUM CHRISTMAS TREE, IT WAS SO PRETTY, BUT THE NEWS REPORTED THE TREES CATCHING ON FIRE AND OUR TREE WAS TRASHED 🗑
Is that a true vintage or a reproduction? It looks pristine! How did you find it?
It’s true vintage in the original packaging and box
@@SewRena wow!
My grandmother had one of these until she let my Aunt take it to College and she ruined it.😢
The papers for my tree literally disintigrated what would you suggest to do when storing it for next year?
Get craft paper from dollar tree and make your own sleeves. I’ve done that to replace some of mine
I don’t want to mess up the flow of the pompoms and the stems.
Where did you find your tree?
I got one from eBay (order it over the summer so you get the best price) the other a local antique store
@@SewRena Thank you! I showed my mom your video. She grew up in the 50’s and I could see the joy in her face watching you put the tree together. I want to try and surprise her with one for Christmas this year
