He ain’t even mad bro, LoL. Base model still outta my price range but we’ll keep working on it 😆 👍 I hope you talk about data management in the next one.
ARRI called me six months ago and we had the same conversation. I think they made the right move as most of us don't need Raw, Anamorphic or Textures. 60fps is plenty for most jobs. The price is much more attractive now.
I still havnt shot on the A35, just have the trusty mini LF. I’m imagining those that have paid it off or passed the pricing difference threshold should still be happy. The a35 is slowly becoming the standard and I think this decision by ARRI will help it.
With the price drop of the Black magic Ursa 12k Cine LF, as far as just getting beautiful images, I think, I know It's 1,000% the better deal. If you're looking to get on set, get more jobs, and possibly do rentals, of course the Arri 35 is going to be the best!
My A35 purchase was solely at the request of a client. So my rental fees from one client have justified it. If I didn’t have that client I’d probably be back in the Sony ecosystem. But the Arri image is unsurpassed.
It's like buying a Ferrari Enzo for $1 mil, you get all the upgrades at a PREMIUM PRICE or you settle for the BASE MODEL ENZO to get you "in the door". 🤑🤪☠️
if it was cheaper yeah but no its not going to get more people into the door in terms of ownership but , it will just make rentals more affordable
Maybe but all of my colleagues who own Amira’s are excited. This move has now seemed to push them closer upgrading to A35 with the A La Carte pricing.
rental houses wont buy the base model, cause its to much effort to re-licence for every job.
I agree it was the right move on ARRI's part. The Alexa 35 is dope.

Raw is a must ! , pre cap and anamorphic is not.

I'm still trying to 3D print a box to disguise my Canon C70 as an Alexa 35!
Genius
The base model has the blue wheel bro 😎
I feel the pain of most Alexa 35 og owners 😢
