That's a nonsense argument. One can understand an emotional or psychological concept and actually detect it very precisely without being of that emotional/psychological type. Pretty sure every therapist and psychologist would agree.
Additionally, I have never met or seen in media a financial successful person that was driven by empathy. They all prioritize egotistic values, like power, wealth, appreciation, fame, independence etc... Or can you name a rich and famous person that just wanted to help/serve others and just became rich by accident?
