As a sociopath - we FEEL. We just literally do not care about what you feel or the outcome for you. We laugh, it’s just at typically inappropriate times. A particularly deserved death may be amusing so people see a smirk. We want friends, we just don’t understand HOW to maintain a relationship because we don’t have the ability to care. We live bored. We have to destroy things, people or ourselves to feel what you feel when you’re having a good day. We aren’t dead inside, we just….don’t care.

Ex-Christian for 38 years and counting. So many things were difficult in being a Christian. EVERYONE wanted me to be 'they're' interpretation of a Christian. One year I went to several churches and got pulled into so many directions. One believes this, the other doesn't. One wants you to focus on that and the other church wants you to focus on the opposite... its enough to survive life than having to survive ones faith. Because religion (singular) is run more like a beer company, and we know what happens when people drink too much. That pretty much sums up 'religion'. Don't believe to much or ELSE!

My friend is gay with JW parents who constantly fight yet refuse to get divorced. He just had to move back home due to financial issues and I really feel for him that he has to live in such an environment of hate. His parents constantly comment on his lifestyle while they are themselves a complete mess. So sad!

I'm not buying this. If you don't feel any emotion, you can't really know you don't feel it. To know you don't feel it you would have to experience it at some point to recognize its absence or presence. He shows too much self-awareness about something he doesn't have a concept of.

I was born inside, it seems to be the case for most these days, as from what I've seen most new members not born in the organization are from undeveloped countries where they get to predate on people who are uneducated and poor. They're not really experiencing any substantial growth in developed nations, as from what I've seen second generation JWs are more likely to leave and chances just seem to increase on third generations. I had realised I didnt want to live like that when I was 11, but I didn't leave until I was 19, I could not stand it anymore, but I had no one I could talk with because everyone I knew would just repeat the same robotic line, it basically came down to changing or dying, since I decidedly was not going to reach 20 inside the cult, my leaving came as a surprise to those around, and suddenly the elders were interested on reeling me back in, they had never even realised the inner conflict I was going through, but there was no way in hell I was going back. This was on new years of 2011, my older sister ended up leaving 7 years later, when she was 29, and I was happy to at least be for her as family during her adaptation period, since back when I left even she had shunned me, but that's what they're programmed to do, and if anyone else in my family left I'll be happy to help them discover how to live.

This is such a fascinating topic. I myself almost have severe empathy. It's hard to be around people because I can feel everything all at once, no matter how many people are around. I see it as a good thing, but early on in my life, it was hard to deal with. I honestly wonder what it's like to not feel emotions. I am a Christian, and I've felt Gods love first hand, and I wonder if a psychopath such as people like Pastor David Wood are not fully formed souls or a vessel with lack of a soul. I know that souls are real, but if one lacks a soul, I believe that it can possibly open them up to be possessed by dark forces. For example, this gentleman mentions he's done things like cut his own throat, and yet he did not premeditate on it. Almost as if he were taken control of. This is where I believe the Word comes in to be very useful for those who lack emotion or even an understanding of right and wrong, as I mentioned earlier Pastor David wood is a perfect example of doing just that. The Word gives him a moral compass. Where as the world does not. The world is a wicked place and without a moral compass chaos ensues. Just a thought
