- Mario, get in the painting.
After hearing the Evangelion N64 soundtrack was made using the Super Mario 64 soundfont, inspiration overtook me. I've been tinkering away at this idea for a little while now, and finally landed on making a video that is almost entirely made using only Super Mario 64 assets, with some specific exceptions made for the sake of relevant jokes. This was an absolute labor of love, and I hope you will enjoy A Cruel Plumber's Thesis.

As a Japanese, I can confirm that the staff credits accurately list the creators of Mario 64 and the composers of "A Cruel Angel's Thesis". This video is very precise. It's wonderful.

Not familiar with Evangelion but I love when well-composed melodies get transposed into retro videogame soundfonts.
At the time it wasn't retro! This was modern hardware when the Eva game was made. Crazy.
I believe the music used in this was the legit music used in the N64 Evangelion game. This creator made the visuals (quite beautifully as well) and used the music from the actual Evangelion game that just happed to use the same Mario 64 soundfont. I only know this cause I read the other comments as well as the comments made by the creator (who responded to you and I'll say again, this video is quite a masterpiece).
This helped a bad day, Thanks Stan. and I finished end of evangelion as well, so on to the other movies.

Believe it or not this video is using an official version of Cruel Angel’s Thesis; the only thing added sound wise is the slow part at the beginning the rest is from Neon Genesis Evangelion 64(a Japanese exclusive N64 Eva game)
