Every Bangles bass line is iconic. They are an example of being widely recognized but underappreciated. They were pop punk before pop punk was a thing.

I remember an interview in the early 2000s when Michael said they were actually working on writing songs together. But unfortunately those never got to see the light of day if they do exist.
Impossible to convey how big this band was at the time and how gorgeous Susanna was. You had to be there to really grasp it. Susanna was stunning and her voice was even sexier.
This band has a sound unmatched by any other band since. Love the harmonies and that each member can sing, each with a unique range that makes every song tell a story. Great energy too! One of my all-time favs! cheers

My favorite 'girl group' of all time... hands down. They were all hot/ talented writers/ real musicians. Micki wrote such deep meaningful songs; I don't know why she soured on the business and quit, but hope she's well/happy. The others split up and tried other groups & solo, then eventually tried reuniting, but the magic was gone. Here's to you, Bangles... cheers!

Miki and the rest of the band had a difference of opinion. During thier hiatus the rest of the band had gotten married and had kids. When the band reunited they did not want to do the same schedule as they used to as they were raising kids and husbands. After going thru a few fill-in bass players and even fill-in keyboard players the Bangles now tour with their original bass player from before Micki joined the band.
She probably burned a couple hundred calories a day just moving the eyes from side to side. I noticed in one instant that Vicky adopted the same mechanism -- or maybe Susanna got it from Vicky. For me, the most seductive element for Susanna is her voice - there's a natural sensuality springing from her vocals aside from some forward lyrics.
I had the hugest crush on her as a kid.... I went to see them live at Dorney Park back in the day... can't remember the exact year anymore but they performed songs from all albums. In your room was one song so I am guessing after this time of this interview.

Yes, Michael was the best & most experienced, & oldest member of the band. When she retired in early 2004, she had been playing professionally for 25 years. She had taken a 4 year break from music, from the fall of '94 to the fall of '98. All totaled, including the break, Michael had been in music for 29 years.
I love that they sang live and didn't have to lip sync like they make you do on so many TV shows. Michael's awsome, but if you watch other complete live concerts, like at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh in 1986, you'll see that Vicki is a very solid lead guitar, as is Susanna on rhythm, and Debbi on drums. They may not be Jimi Hendrix, or John Lennon, or John Bonham, but they are pretty good.
As a drummer I’m impressed by Debbi Peterson’s flawless groove. You can tell she’s a serious player. The harmonies are perfect, the whole group’s sound is spot-on accurate faithful to the recordings.
Vicki Peterson tours with her husband John Cowsill and they are absolutely great on stage. They even do Manic Monday. Vicky is also absolutely lovely and engaging in person.
Debbie Peterson is phenomenal on tambourine, fierce. True percussionist. Great band, talented. Elephant in the livingroom: beautiful women, each unique and so pretty.
I saw them bitd at Mud Island Amphitheater, a small outdoor venue that they rocked out. We were close to the stage and it was an awesome show. They're definitely one of my favorite bands ever. I had their first 3 albums memorized.
