The best womens band that was ever created. The harmonies are incredible & so intrinsic to their sound. I absolutely love this band & still remember ever lyric from the mid 80’s. I only wish I could’ve been a quarter this cool when singing in my lousy tribute bands
I was always a Vicki kind of guy, myself with a smaller thing for Micki. I thought she was more personable and sexy than Susannah who I perceived as high maintenance at the time. Susannah is stunning now. But they all are.
I was looking earlier this morning to see if they would pass through Wisconsin soon!!! I loved the part with Vikki talking about her not being the best musician... but their good!! Their a good band! Also with Susanna talking about songs that they write and question whether they could be Bangles songs. These ladies are so refreshing to listen to! I believe they are all around 60 years old but they are so relevant and so modern and they just want to write and play! I also liked hearing them point out about how selective they are about when, where, what they play.. and of course that they all waited until each of them was ready to start back at it again. I think it's very important as well that they come at this a second time as truly let's pick up where we left off vs trying to relive the 80s. Granted they were amazing. I was in my single digits in the 80s but I loved this group! I would absolutely love to see them in small venues! The up close and personal experience can just not be replaced. Especially with a wonderful band like the Bangles! I would totally dig hearing them stop in the middle of a song to start over cause they missed something!!! Lol! I watched a video last night where Susanna was playing this small venue and in-between songs she was tuning her guitar and asked if anyone had any questions.!!! WOW!!! I know that seems so insignificant but to a fan.. omg! To see your idols in low-key atmosphere where you just get to enjoy the music in a pleasant place and they can simply enjoy they're listeners and even have some interaction. So incredible! I totally would love to see these ladies!
I think Michael is the strongest musician of the four and I would say is really underrated as a bassist (and guitarist), but they are for sure all really good musicians and together they were a really solid band. Michael and Debbi made a great rhythm section together.

I wish we could get an update from her or from one of the others if she is still in touch with any of them (probably Vicki) just letting us know that Michael is well and happy. She has really vanished off the face of the earth.

The Bangles are great because no matter a mans taste in women there is a great variety of beauty and someone for everyone. So much better than say the Spice Girls who are all singers, some better than others and not a real band that formed normally, so naturally a flash in the pan fad with no longevity and cannot be taken seriously. Bangles such a contrast to that type of fluff. Real musicians and real singers. Great role models for our daughters as opposed to the skanks the media/aka fake news literally have thrust in our faces more as soft porn than music.

So to have a greatest hits where she gets HALF A CREDIT TOTAL really illustrates just how much the label skewed the bangles to make them palatable for general audiences. Yeah, What you said is a truth bomb. Fans don't like hearing stuff like this. The Go-Gos album sales, tours, and status/respect in the industry still have not been surpassed by any other female band 40+ years later. Prince was hoping after he wrote and gave the song Manic Monday to the Bangles he thought Suzanne H would let him bang her. She's a beautiful woman so I don't blame him for trying. The bass player seems a bit homely and most likely to gain weight as her but was getting wider by the show. I love the two sisters, Debbie and Vickie. They are intelligent, attractive and both doinkable.
Micki should not be getting hung up on that. Make your audience happy, first band foremost. Your best music is behind yaz. That's just physiological reality.
What does it take to shut Susanne up?? Jeez what an annoying woman, she talks over Michael, talks over Debbie, and really loudly, plus she answers ever question almost till the end, she finally let Vikki and Debbie talk, poor Michael...I no longer like Hoffs, plus I always liked Vikki's voice better...I'll take Angels and Crash and Burn anyday..
Agree, I thought Vikki really had it together from day one, took a lot of makeup and clothes changes to get S.H. to do the rolling eyeball thing. And I still would rather hear Vikki sing any song than Sue, Sue's good especially with Vikki and Debbies luscious harmonies, but Vikki is alpha and much more of a rocker...
I'm ten minutes in and I don't hear what you're hearing. Her answers are a little long compared to the others I guess, but she's just offering up her own perspective on the situation. At many points, she pauses before answering, clearly waiting to see if anyone else will answer. They're all talking over each other and interrupting at various points too, not just Sue. Joking, laughing, clarifying, etc. This is a pretty informal interview anyway so I'm not quite sure what the big deal is. The others don't even seem to mind.
Annette was maybe the best singer of them all.....wonder why she didn't sing with them...? I love a lot of the Blood on the Saddle stuff esp when she sings.
Mayhawk 7, You're showing that you don't know much about the Bangles. Before Annette left the band in '83, she never wrote or co-wrote any of their songs, & she never sang a note on any of their songs. Annette only played (& still only plays) bass. That'it, nothing else. Just plays bass.
Sam Bradley, how can Annette be your favorite? She never wrote any songs, & she never sang (or songs now) on any of the Bangles songs! She only plays the bass. And, hate to tell ya, but Michael could (& still can) play circles around Annette.
MS is the oldest...45y here. Still quite lovely. The other three, esp Vicki, seem a bit more fit and that helps. The Petersons, again esp Vicki, always have been fairly athletic. And Su had a lot of ballet in her youth. Morale: stay in shape and look your best.

Perhaps the interviewer should have done some research before the session. Very generic questions that could have been asked of anyone. I wonder if he really knew the history of the band and its' members.

The bass player seems a bit homely and most likely to gain weight as her but was getting wider by the show.
I love the two sisters, Debbie and Vickie.
They are intelligent, attractive and both doinkable.
Not all bands are like the Rolling Stones and can continually perform for a long time. Four women especially could never do that. Too much drama.

Agree, I thought Vikki really had it together from day one, took a lot of makeup and clothes changes to get S.H. to do the rolling eyeball thing. And I still would rather hear Vikki sing any song than Sue, Sue's good especially with Vikki and Debbies luscious harmonies, but Vikki is alpha and much more of a rocker...

I'm ten minutes in and I don't hear what you're hearing. Her answers are a little long compared to the others I guess, but she's just offering up her own perspective on the situation. At many points, she pauses before answering, clearly waiting to see if anyone else will answer. They're all talking over each other and interrupting at various points too, not just Sue. Joking, laughing, clarifying, etc. This is a pretty informal interview anyway so I'm not quite sure what the big deal is. The others don't even seem to mind.
Vicki, I believe, is the real leader of The Bangles. 😊
Annette is my favorite, but she wasn't with them then, this is between the time she left & before she came back.
Annette was maybe the best singer of them all.....wonder why she didn't sing with them...? I love a lot of the Blood on the Saddle stuff esp when she sings.

Before Annette left the band in '83, she never wrote or co-wrote any of their songs, & she never sang a note on any of their songs. Annette only played (& still only plays) bass. That'it, nothing else. Just plays bass.

MS is the oldest...45y here. Still quite lovely. The other three, esp Vicki, seem a bit more fit and that helps. The Petersons, again esp Vicki, always have been fairly athletic. And Su had a lot of ballet in her youth. Morale: stay in shape and look your best.
