Thanks for actually talking. I watched several other videos on the disassembly of this system that were very hard to follow because nobody was narrating or they were skipping over key points. So, thanks again. Because of your walkthrough, I was able to successfully upgrade the RAM in the machine. 💯
Thanks for a clear, useful, easy-to-follow tutorial. It's just what I needed so that I can upgrade mine from 4GB to 16GB. It may be a challenging upgrade in prospect, but I am so looking forward with great anticipation to the likely speed gains.
Many thanks for this. Such an annoying case opening! I hate it when manufacturers hide screws under stuff. Use a plastic spudger (preferably two.. one to hold open what you've already pried open) or you WILL scratch something. Also, one of the 50 billion little tiny plastic tabs broke off and rattled inside the case so I had to open it up again and dump it out. I've opened a dozen laptops and this was the most annoying one.
Bro thank you! I just ordered this laptop and it’s coming in tomorrow. I’ve never added RAM to a laptop before, so this was incredibly helpful. How is the laptop performing?
@@robertrussell9680 Laptop performers great!. You do need a smaller screwdriver if you don't have one, I linked the screwdriver set of the one I used in the description.
One can use a single 16GB stick without problems, except that it is better in terms of performance to fill both banks of RAM by using 2 8GB sticks of RAM, rather than filling one with a 16GB stick of RAM. There should be no complications in swapping the 8GB stick of RAM with a 16GB and then when you add the additional 16GB in the future to fill both banks of RAM, then you should have maximised performance for such a 32GB RAM setup! Nice!
1) you need to know if your cpu/processor is combatible and will run/process 16gb of ram. 2) if you mean adding in two 8gb sticks (32gb would likely be too much) then you need to have two ram slots and again, make sure the ram is compatible. 3) follow what he did in the video to install the new ram.
The kit did not have a screwdriver for the right size for the screws (includes a screwdriver but it is the wrong size), it does have some nice pry tools though for carefully opening the case. The screwdriver kit should have a screwdriver for turning the screws. The kits and drivers I have linked aren't the only ones that will work, but they are what worked for me.
When u upgraded your Ram did it make your fan sound like a Jet engine because I have the same laptop upgraded the ram to 16gb and now it's really loud have any idea what could be causing it ?
It will depend on your laptop. It is typically recommended that both ram sticks have the same specs. Also, check your laptop to see what the max speed it can handle is. This one already had an 8 GB, so I added another 8GB. If I were in your shoes, I think the way I would do it is first check to make sure the laptop processor can process 8GB ram stick, then, I would order 2 8GB ram sticks, and get rid of the 4GB ram stick once I got the new ones installed an working. Just make sure the new ram will work with your computer.

Thanks for alerting us to this. Forewarned is forearmed!
You’re supposed to disconnect the battery first

Also, are you saying in the video that a basic screw driver works for the screws?

hello good video, i have a question, can i use the kaisi kit to do all the replacement or do i need the yellow screwdriver by force?

and how about this combo? I need to make a single purchase.

No

This is very risky. It may damage the laptop if not done properly.
How many ran you can put in it?
There is space for 2 RAM slots, one of them is already filled from the factory
