Yeah the lack of a held item is certainly a hinderance. Even in this run, sometimes a cheri berry might have been more useful.

I don't think I've every used a mega absol to be honest.
Do mega gardevoir and mega metagross, I know metagross is a pseudo but you could do a mirror match with Steven to see who has the better one
