I appreciate seeing someone not overplay the guitar. Way too many guitar reviews are people just doing insane blues licks instead of letting you really hear the guitar for what it is.
I don't mind a little of both. I can't hear the way the guitar really is unless I have some rocking out for context. It's funny to me that people don't like the blues licks especially. For me it's the worst when I finally find a demo of the pickup or guitar I want to try, and the person starts playing metal! Lol it's the furthest from what I'll play and gives absolutely no info to me about the tone or subtle differences in the equipment.
I know you’re referring 60 Cycle Hum but he’s just putting out the full experience from receiving it and opening it. He does it so that people can know everything they need to know as if they were opening the box themselves.
Lovely guitar - I have this model in aged white with two single coils. Really comfortable to play whether sitting or standing. No unnecessary frills nor a multitude of switches and controls. It's up to you to make the most of it. Simple is often the best way to go.
What a perfect demo of this guitar, both ss and hs. I have one in hs configuration ordered, but with the current backlog it could be a while... but i can wait. Just bought an ultra strat, 75th anniversary commemorative telecaster, and a lead III, so im not without guitars to play
I have the same guitar and really love it despite some issues related to Fender MIM like warped pickguard and troubles with pickup selector. It’s really great little guitar, which I was happy to buy during COVID-19 lockdown, being alone in foreign country. It motivated me to record covers and original music, and almost all videos in my RUclips channel were recorded with that guitar, so you can check how versatile it is. I don’t think I would sell it since best friends can’t be sold ❤️

Every position sounds crazy. Very nice guitar, i guess i'm gonna remove auto split in the 4th position in my hss to have that humbucker plus single coil sound that is very very nice... do you agree with me?
I tried one of these, and a mustang from this line at a local guitar shop today. I had a really hard time adjusting to the smaller scale, especially the higher up the neck I got. The biggest turn off was that on both of them the toggle switch shorts out on the neck pickup. Not sure if the shop just had extremely bad luck or if it's a common issue with this line. All this being said I'm still very interested in getting one of these. The array of tones you can get out of them is just amazing.
7 months late but yes the neck pickup short seams to be a thing. I have a fender limited edition HS in Capri Orange with maple neck and it also will short when flipped to the neck position on the fly sometimes. Not every time but enough to know its a problem. Figure in a switch upgrade and its still a beast of a guitar. Absolutely love mine. Be blessed.
@@shawn2683 A little update - I ended up getting one of these off of Sweetwater, I expressed my concern with my sales rep guy about the toggle, they made sure everything was in working order. I will say when it arrived it had some intonation issues, which is more common in short scale guitars, so I got it set up by a trusted luthier and it's much better now. It has become my main guitar. Because of this guitar I sold my American Strat, and it has benched my Les Paul Classic (I hate having a lot of guitars hanging around that aren't getting played). One other drawback is the split coil tone leaves a lot to be desired. It sound pretty frail. I spend most of my time with the bridge pickup. This guitar is a blast and well worth the money. I'm glad you're loving yours too.
@@BrianPremo I had switch issue once and I have it for 1 month. Should I put another one or just check the current wires? Didn't know it is a common thing with these guitars.
Stanko Aksentijević I've done some research on it and unfortunately it's a bit common with this, I think they used cheap wiring. I bought mine from Sweetwater and had them make sure it worked before they shipped it out, I've had it for a year now and have had a few moments where it would cut out, but nothing long term. I would say if this is a guitar you plan on keeping for a while and using a lot I think it would be worth getting the wiring redone.
@@BrianPremo Thanks for the advice mate! I feel this and tuners are the only issue I have with it. I think tuners should have different ratio because of the shortness of the neck. I can't tune in nicely. Either a bit sharp or flat :/ But I love the guitar and will change these things!
Andrew Nitzkoski pedantic. That’s obviously what he meant. In a way he’s also right. When you split a coil, you are TAPPING into half of the humbucking circuit, which is one full coil.
Except why would fender install the the input jack on the pick guard?? Why can’t they just pull a genius move like they did with the Stratocasters?? It’s firewood.
Absolutely. This pau ferro stuff looks cheap and nasty. I'm sure it isn't, but it looks it. Reminds me of the fretboard on my first ever Encore guitar.
Yeah i despise it.. If I had to get one (which is most likely nowadays if you want a new fender guitar that isnt maple..) I'd stain the living hell out of it haha. It looks like wood you'd get at IKEA.
I appreciate seeing someone not overplay the guitar. Way too many guitar reviews are people just doing insane blues licks instead of letting you really hear the guitar for what it is.
Absolutely agree - those demos are just for showing off and have very little to do with actually letting us hear the basic tones.
Right? I’m like I don’t even play fucking blues

Exactly, I want to hear alt rock chords to really get a feel, not blues licks and solos no one ever plays
Tastefull playing, seems like finally someone tuned guitar before playing and not talking

Get this guitar I promise you will not regret it, I got it and I love it so much. It is the joy of my life.
It sounds great, and really seems to nail those fuzz and grunge tones!
Wow this is a tone monster!
This will be my next guitar.
mine to bro
Thank you. A great range of the tones of the guitar. I have a sunburst one on the way as an early 50'th birthday present to myself. I cannot wait. ☺
For everyone who says that short-scale guitars don't have the same full tone, listen to this.
Actually they generally have a thicker tone compared to similar spec traditional neck scale
Thank you for demonstrating the diversity of the instrument. You played several different genres so i have a good idea about how it sounds

Thanks for this. I'm a beginner and this is the first video I found that gave me a clear understanding of the difference in tone and pickup position.
Picked up a Duo Sonic HS this week. Love it.
Nice straightforward demo. We ALL APPRECIATE no blabbing like most. Thanks bro!!!!
Nice guitar.

The fuzz sounded awesome there! They should think about a more appropriate finish and sell it as a voodoo guitar!

Thanks very much. Really helpful.
great, the one setting I was hoping to hear is the one you forgot. HS split + neck

Amazing demo. 💕
really useful video, thanks
Good demo, thank you!
Very nice. Keep up the good work!
Is it very apparent when first playing this guitar that it has a shorter scale length? Easier action and bending strings? Thank you!
why didn't you demonstrate the coil tap?
Brendan McCurry there is no coil tap on this. There's coil split though
Andrew Nitzkoski pedantic. That’s obviously what he meant. In a way he’s also right. When you split a coil, you are TAPPING into half of the humbucking circuit, which is one full coil.
As an owner of one of these, the split coil tone is weak. Everything else about the guitar is great.
Nice review and a beautiful guitar.
Split the humbucker with the coil-tapping on the tone knob and let us hear more! Thank you!
i can't believe he didn't demo this
Great player
GREAT DEMO!
2:40 holy shit what amp did you use here?
You can split the bridge pickup right? I was curious how it sounded with the split
Was the fuzz tone Lameneshma by lowrider?
Nice video!
Nice reggae chops!
what amp are you using?
Sounds like it can play anything 🤔
This one doesn't have the split coil?
It has
love "no talking" haha
Track 1: 52?
I wish I could afford one
Swweetass!
Which color is this?
AH MB Daphne Blue.
Nice Fuzz Tone....
(Fu Manchu 👍)
I can talk when I want. Don’t be bossy, this isn’t the dang library.
Except why would fender install the the input jack on the pick guard?? Why can’t they just pull a genius move like they did with the Stratocasters??
It’s firewood.
Stratocaster still the best!!!!
Except for Chris Buck, every other demonstration of this guitar has made it sound absolutely horrible
man the new necks are so ugly
Absolutely. This pau ferro stuff looks cheap and nasty. I'm sure it isn't, but it looks it. Reminds me of the fretboard on my first ever Encore guitar.
