Never even heard of this guitar before. Not that it means much since I mostly play bass.

I'm not that keen on the Fender saddles. When not under tension, they wobble about. The height adjustment screws can also poke your hand unless you cut off or put in shorter screws.
The compensated brass Tele-style bridges aesthetically look great, although maybe the intonation isn't as good.
    Everything is a compromise.

I know the duo sonic comes in two forms--wondering if the split coil on the hb sounds the same as the ss model-thx

Im doing this to my mustang. I hate the hardtail on it curently. Saddles move around constantly and the springs behind them rattle

thank you so much for sharing your craft! Question for ya ...
Is there enough downward pressure on the saddles to keep them in the adjusted spacing or did you have to mark a groove on each brass saddle with a file?
Oh, and it seems you biased the positioning of the E string saddle forward. I dont have your experience and so out of fear of screwing things up I would have centered the saddle half way in its run way, to allow maximum leeway in both directions. That would have placed the bridge closer towards the humbucker. Is that ok, or am I overthinking things?

The strings will cut a groove over time in the saddles. The 1st string rarely needs intonation adjustment forward (sharpening the string) so I usually place the saddle at the scale length and leave about 1/8" (3mm) or so of screw exposed.

Crazy question - My string ferules fall out if not under tension. Will these fall out as the wood dries? Do you recommend CA Glue or Titebond wood glue for ferule gluing?

If they out regularly, I would put a little dab of wood glue and then let them dry in place. I avoid CA glue because it cab messy and harder to reverse if you need to take them out. You can also wrap some aluminum tap around the ferrules and push them in so they are a tighter fit - no glue needed.

Asking for modding reasons, would changing scale to the normal 25 oreven baritone just be a neck change? Or would it be more work? Because this might be a viable way to get a full length / baritone duosonic.. I love the duosonic better than a strat, but as a bassist, don't really like the shorty scale.
