Here is a do it yourself video on how to change oil filter housing gasket and oil cooler to oil filter housing gasket of F01 and F02 BMW 740i or 740li. This is n54 engine and the process of replacement is similar but not the same as on other BMW's equipped with n54 engine.

Valve cover rarely cracks on 6 cylinder turbo, more often on modern 4 cylinder turbo engines by bmw, you are welcome

Thanka for your videos, What's your thoughts on reliability of the 740 engine, I am wondering which is more reliable between the 740Li and 750Li. I'm looking to get a used one, at first I was considering a 2011 535i F10 but since that are both 6 cylinders I thought of going with the bigger 7 series. Pls I will like to know your thoughts. Cheers and keep the videos coming.

hi, definitely would chose 740, since it is 6 cylinder it is very reliable 7 series comparing to v8 models

Great video. A points of constructive criticism: 1) every bolt you removed for the oil filter housing should have been replaced. Those bolts are torque to yield (TTY) and BMW recommends they be replaced. 2) I cannot understand how technicians reinstall bolts WITHOUT a torque wrench. Proper torque is needed on those TTY bolts, not the torque force applier at the end of your wrist.
