If Mitt Romney were POTUS he'd bore us to death and truly keep the country together. I wouldn't agree with his policies especially on abortion, healthcare and gun Reform but at least I know he loves the United States and can't be bought.
I'm a Liberal. I just want decency back. Obviously the policies I don't agree with i.e. separating families, kids in cages, Muslim Travel Ban, discrimination against Transgenders in the military, deregulation, corporate & wealthy tax cut, murdering Jeffrey Epstein (AG Barr organized it), unauthorized killing of Soleimani, bribing Ukraine. Trump needs to go. I prefer another Republican president, anyone but Trump! I'd take Bernie, even though I can't stand him.
If I could raise the dead, I'd get John McCain in the White House. RIP Maverick.

Hilariousness I completely agree with you. He is definitely a conservative yet he is a honorable man. It takes real courage to stand up against his entire party establishment and vote to have witnesses in order to try to give the american people a fair trial. We truly had it so good in the 2008 and 2012 elections. You could disagree with the republican candidates politically, but you would never question their decency. John McCain vs Obama or Mitt Romney vs Obama. We were so lucky to be able to vote in peace without worrying about the legitimacy of our elections or the future of our country. When i found out that John McCain passed away, i cried. I am most definitely not a republican or a conservative however i was so sad because he was a man that i admired and respected for many years and I knew him to be decent. All that I can hope for is that whoever gets nominated for the candidacy is a honorable person. Of course I have my preferences on who I want to win the primary, however at this point I will vote for anyone who is just a good person.

Definitely. The reason this is a good political sketch is because it is not a viscous attack on one side, which is what most SNL political sketches aim for.

its so true elections go in cycles not by the person, thats why we tend to have 2 terms of one party then 2 terms of another, when the cycle is disrupted things go weird, it didn't matter than donald trump was the nominee the republican was going to win no matter what. there are people with this theory who have predicted outcomes with extreme accuracy.
