Adult elephant's system breaks down food just enough so that if the baby needs it, it is there and it provides for the baby elephant. I just like to watch the wee one crawl all over mum and try to figure out how to eat his first leaf. They are just so tiny and velvety. So adorable, as he listens to mum teach him what's good to eat and what's not. It's amazing how she does that!
