Samantha, I bought Bat Our of Hell the year it came out and to this day I think it is one of the greatest albums of all time. Jim Steinman's songs are very difficult for singers to perform which is why they are seldom covered well. You really sang this song well. Exceptionally well. Plus you accompanied yourself on piano. Wow! I know you recorded this nearly five years ago but if you are still singing I would encourage you to stay after it. You have great, unique talent. Have you tried to get this to Meatloaf via Facebook or other social media? I think he would be blown away by your performanc. William Paxton
Yours is a really interesting rendition. The vibe and style of playing/singing is so different, but still the spirit of the song can be felt. I admire the passion you put into it. Good work
Oh my stars above you killed it! Jim would be proud if he saw this. Your voice is amazing, Samantha. You'd be a great Maria from Operation Space Opera. I'm actually working on covering that album. If you'd be interested in playing her let me know.
20.5 years ago I played this *lots* of times after my heart was broken. It was not her fault, because of former profession I became the world's greatest ar5ehoke. She's got a new lif, so do I with a wonderful wife. Tidy job Samantha, sorry for crying out loud.
This song truly ends the album perfectly the boy changes after hating his girl in paradise by the dashboard light and he professes his true love for her but sadly they will never see each other again as the gods take him to hell for punishment but at least he knew what had to be done before that and after the flashbacks of his life with her after he crashed so all in all its a bittersweet ending with great character development over the course of the album. And you sing great too.
This is my favourite meatloaf song to sing (and oh how many times I have tortured my neighbours with my rendition of the bat out of hell album in its entirety) and this is just how I wish I sounded. Wonderful
Wonderful version of a beautiful song. RIP Jim Steinman.
Whoa, that was great!
Amazing job! My favorite song of all time.
RIP Jim Steinman 🖤
