I love the stories, quick question. I thought the OGs sat in their day they weren't working out or playing together in the off season and being friendly? Tim told multiple stories, about NBA guys from different teams getting together. Stak and Matt have as well in UCLA. Why is it now that its a bad thing for these guys to do the same thing?
Tim is one of my fav players. I remember when the all star game was happening and we was kids outside the area when they walk into the facility the players are walking by, Penny, Zo, on and on and we was asking for autographs and high fives and all of them walked past like we wasn’t even there and then Tim hardaway walks by and he’s on his cell phone and stops and says I have to call you back. Hung up his phone and gave us all autographs. Fives. Spoke to us for a couple of minutes and then went on. Shows a different level of appreciation he had for the fans over the other players.
Great video Hardaway is one of my favorite players of all time! I watched Hardaway dominate the 1989 WAC Tournament! Nobody could guard him he was levels above anybody UTEP played against. I initially became a fan at the 1988 WAC Tournament when in the semifinal UTEP beat BYU IN an overtime thriller!
I'm my mind I want to say Tim Hardaway is Top 5 best crossovers in NBA history...Chi town finest definitely 1 of my favorites to watch.. dude was a "BEAST"... "CERTIFIED LEGEND" 1 of the best to ever touch a basketball.. new generation go watch this man highlights & take notes 🏀🏀🏀
Love you see Mr. Hardaway in great health. I played him 1 on 1 at Don Nelson's basketball camp. Amazing memories of their RUN TMC days. Even crazier is that he randomly said I resemble his son. Thanks for your Time.
It’s UTEP Two-Step. Tim Hardaway will always be my favorite player. I remember watching him play at UTEP on the late 80s with Don Haskins. Hardaway, Jeep Jackson, Anthony Davis, Greg Foster. Those were great teams.
He also was the true victim by not being picked for the Dream Team despite being better than Zeke , Stockton at the time. Zeke was scarred because he had been one of the best for years but Tim was the young guy killing & was snubbed .
@@Supreme36074 I can't take nothing from T Hardwaway , i was there, when he came out at half time, in highschool, with Carver being down, he came out, had Manley hs, star players foul out, he led Carver down State, i'm from the block, I Thomas came from in Chicago, it's not because were from the same block, but saying, he's better than Isiah Thomas, anybody have they're own opinion, i always say, they're 1 and 1a, 1 young man, texted me, and said Derrick Rose, way the best point out of Chicago, i'm cool with that, it's his opinion, and he was a child, or wasn't born, when tim and Isiah, was doing they thing, when the nba was tough.
@@mrshawterry6 I’m not taking anything from him, I’m talking specifically the year they formed the Dream Team. Zeke was a better player however . Slightly.
@saksit247 OK my man, everything cool, we talking like men, I made a mistake, you're right, if I mention Isiah, I'm going to mention Tim's also, Tim was thicker than Isiah, but he would leave defenders staying, Tim and Isiah Thomas had real crossovers, I like A Iverson, great scorer, but his crossover was suspect to me, you can't turn your palm toward the ceiling, then take off, that's carry all day long, anyway, good texting you , you're a straight forward gentleman, were just texting like men, and not cursing at each other, about a sport
The "UTEP 2 Step" man Tim Hardaway was tough Man was 5'11 or 6 ft tall but he was a PROBLEM, quick, fast and strong, could get you 20+ pts and 10ast every night!
Tim Hardaway has always been willing to speak his mind. It makes for a great interview and sometimes controversy. This is the same great interview gents.
In 1996 the Golden State Warriors had their pre-season at our college. My roomate had a staredown with Tim Hardaway. They were blocking each other in a doorway and no one wanted to budge. Let's just say it was 2 on 1 that day
I like where Kobe's legacy ended up. Even if some people leave him out of the GOAT conversation, his mental approach, work ethic, and competitiveness, will endure forever. Impacting both men's and women's sports.
Right. He can sell that to the outside world who didn't watch the Mavs every night. Jr get in the game and he taking his 10 shots. 0/10 or 10/10, it didn't matter 😂 J Kidd should've stood up and told him why but not easy to figure out. You can do that as a #2 option like he used to be but it's tough to be a rotation player that way
My absolute favorite day attending St. John's U was when Mullin brought Tim to campus. Alumni Hall had the doors locked it was vip only I had a front row view
Shout out Tim and The Carver Challengers … one of the players i ever seen play in HS … We both are Challengers and i remember the days when i used to see him practicing in the Gym .. i just knew he was going to the league…. it was lit his senior year in HS

12:11 has always been ironic to me the generation with the most information available to them is the most ignorant to the game's history. Matt's right, there's just so many other things out there they don't feel the need to dig
The players today know more x and 0’s of the game of basketball than ever before. Crazy cause older people in this generation don’t look up easy avaible information yet I will see a 8 year old Google something quicker than a 50 year old 🤣
I believe MJ named Timmy as one of the most clutch players ever. I'm Dub Nation but Timmy cemented his clutch rep in Miami. Healthy Warriors team with Timmy, Mullin, Sprewell, & C-Webb was one of the biggest NBA what-ifs ever..
Dont put that on kidd , We watched him constantly miss wide open shots , when thats LITERALLY HIS ROLE! THJ Has been a catch & shoot player since being in dallas
Tim is a legend..Can't believe they sent him to Detroit. He was having a productive season. NBA business is nasty..Hope he finds new life. Good interview!!!..👍🏽
It was the Luka show yet DJJ had his best shooting season. PJ too. Exum practically revived his NBA career. THJ was good, then he got hurt. He was given another shot when he returned but he was HORRIBLE. Tim played his best seasons with Doncic so I don't know what sr. is smoking.
With all due respect to you Tim Sr....Jr thought he was in with them folks and started riding Luka too hard and the did to him what they do to the majority of ball players. I hope he gets another opportunity to do what I've watched him do in person many times. Great interview
Shout out to McDyess for that play in the 2000 olympics. They were about to lose to Lithuania, would have been the biggest upset ever 🤦🏾♂️!! McDyess- one of the greatest athletes and explosive dunkers ever!!!
For those that don’t know, Craig Hodges was a G. He was half Steph Curry half Malcom X. Actually he probably shot the ball better than Steph but 3’s weren’t as part of the game as they are now. There’s only 2 players in the history of the NBA to win the 3 point contest 3 times in a row, Craig Hodges and Larry Bird. Craig Hodges probably could’ve won 4 or 5 in a row but he was “OUT” of league after his 3rd title. Craig Hodges and Steph Curry are both tied for the most shots made in one round with 21 (max 25) Steph did it once in 2021, Craig did it once in 1986, then he did it again in 1991, and then he did it again in the very next round of that same contest in 91. Craig Hodges also still holds the record for the most consecutive shots made in the 3 pt contest with 19 in a row during the ’1991 contest. The next best is 13 in a row by Steph Curry. Craig Hodges played in the NBA for 10 seasons and led the league in 3-point shooting percentage three times. He also won two NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls in ‘91 and ’92.
Tim Hardaway Jr. has averaged 41.8% FG for all of his career. In 2018-2019 Knicks, he averaged 19.1 points given it wasn't the best Knicks team at the time. To be fair, Mavericks expected THJr to be a 3&D player, but he was mainly a shooter. He averaged just under 30 minutes with the Mavericks. HIs first three years with Dallas, he averaged 43% FG and 16 ppg.

Tim Hardaway was an All-Star starter but step aside to let Magic Johnson start when he came back from his HIV drama. Class move.
He also was the true victim by not being picked for the Dream Team despite being better than Zeke , Stockton at the time. Zeke was scarred because he had been one of the best for years but Tim was the young guy killing & was snubbed .
