I loved watching MJ dunk on him and knock him out of the playoffs lol. No, for real tho, Zo was a monster on the court! His play was phenomenal, he was fun to watch
A very wise brother well articulated, no swearing, class. He was a REAL MEAN rim protector, I love these guys no afraid to be posterised for doing their job, respect.
Loved Zo's game in Charlotte and the more I learned about the man validated the initial admiration. Collected his cards, kept the Slam magazines, read Resilience, rocked the jersey, hung the SI cover with Russell on my wall. Last item on the list is to shake his hand and tell him what an inspiration he has been. Thank you for having him on the show.
Major props 4 Zo.... Amazing franchise center, then overcame the kidney issues still was a very good solid role player after the kidney stuff got the championship & Hall of Fame... Outstanding player that I got a lot of respect for 👍🏼👌🏼

I know I haven't seen all the sports videos online. But I want to thank All The Smoke for bringing on Alonzo Mourning. He, thus far is the only player who acknowledged the Pistons in the same breath as the Lakers, the Celtics, and the Bulls. Thanks for the video and I can't wait to see more. Detroit! What up doe!
I always New Alonso was a great player but wasn't on my favorite list.. Having him on the Show made me realize how Great of a Man he is!... Blessing to the Brother... One of your Best shows Ever!
Zo was the reason I knew my NBA dreams were done. I went to Kenny Smith’s basketball camp at 12 and Zo was the guest speaker. This man showed up in a muscle shirt and shorts and was RIPPED LIKE A GREEK GOD! And this was during his kidney issues! I said “this man looks like this with failing kidneys???” My 5’7 150lbs self knew it was a wrap from there 😂
They finally got Alonzo on?! Man I been thinking about him being in this show for a long time. They had wade, Udonis, Shaq, Gary Payton, Jason White Chocolate Williams on. Bout time they got zo. Another member of the 2006 Miami heat championship squad. Plus zo had a long career, played for a few teams. Got a family, had a health scare. So Alonzo Mourning is definitely somebody who should've been on All The Smoke. Glad they got him. Been waiting on this
My earliest memory of Alonzo mourning I was in 1st grade in about 2000-2001 I got in trouble and my grandma made me read the mourning news paper and write essays and did a essay about an article on how Alonzo wasn’t gonna play the upcoming season…. I caught on late but Zo a legend nun the less
I played against Zo when were young bucks in HS (class of 88). Zo played on an allStar AAU squad under Boo Williams and they were loaded with talent but the teams back then had skills - had fundamentals down cold!
Great Interview along with The Shawn Kemp interview! I remember that era of Basketball! I was raised in Miami. I remember being at FIU as a freshman when Zo came to Miami and The next day the beat The Bulls. There was a picture in The Miami Herald where Zo dunked on Jordan!
Not going to say who, but an individual told the same stories on at least three interviews. I had to look in my YT history to make sure I didn't watch that specific one already.
Fantastic interview. I definitely appreciate Zo being so candid God put things in our lives and put people in our lives for purpose. I definitely believe that💯🤔, I’m from Washington DC big John was very respected in our community. You will see him on a regular at the Carryout getting chicken wings and fries with mumble sauce and he didn’t play around with his players and people who might mislead them💯🤔, big John with no joke he playing around with drug dealers messing with his players Or around his campus💯🤔, he was a real deal💯💕☺️
I remember Zo had the Zo summer groove in Miami in the 90s and that was my first time seeing him and Method Man and Monica was the performers. We had a good time and they were telling us to stay in school. 🤜🏾🤛🏾
ZO CHAR. HORNETS 90'S Straight Killa with Larry Johnson Mugsy. Bogues johnny newman😮 KEndle gill Glen rice... Used to love going to watch him play it with the Charlotte Hornets. We always be a legend hall of famer in my book
Yea that era was great. The Hornets were solid. VA stand up. Mourning was a great great player. I know Johnny Newman personally. Good dude. He didn't like when I asked about guarding MJ but he was humble. Him and Dumars were arguably the best to guard MJ.
Much respect for Zo played against him in college a true specimen. Shout out to you Stack opened up a business in Beaumont.I serve the Port Arthur area as well. Anthony Allen from Port Arthur was on that Georgetown Hoya squad as well. Keep up the good work Stack and Matt!
My favorite childhood center growing up. Always admired how he was undersized during his era but was still amongst the best. Mean on the court but well spoken off of it. Definitely a legend and played during an era when it was tough to be an elite big but he still did it. Zo, my dog. 💪🏾
Love Zo. He was always a warrior every time he plays on the court. I was a BULLS fan all those years ago and I’ve always respected the way Mourning led his team. Rodman against Mourning was fun to watch.
Zo is easily my favorite center of all time, became a Heat fan when he left Charlotte. Imagine a college team with Zo and Mutombo on the same team, how could anyone ever score in the paint. Thank you Zo, it was an honor watching you play.
I remember going to the Compaq center in Houston to watch Miami Heats v Houston Rockets, sat 4 rolls to the court, Alonzo was being defended by Otis Thorpe and vice versa...goodness, it was like 2 summo wrestlers battling each other to gain positions on the block. I could hear the impact of their muscles clashing. It was so intense. It was so physical. I played basketball in college at 6'8" tall. There was no way I could have played like that. That was when I develop a lot of respect for power forwards and centers. It really gave it the meaning of POWER! Kudos👏🏿 !
Alonzo Mourning we were just talking about you today. My siblings & I. Went on RUclips & there you were. The internet be listening 😂 my oldest brother introduced me to basketball 🏀 & I haven’t stopped watching since. Reading Chris Webber book 📖 now & he’s got me reminiscing about the best to have ever played 🏀 was a big fan of Georgetown secretly. 😂 Born & raised in Detroit so I had to rock with That amazing blue U of Michigan. 💙💛💙💛
Zo's take on AAU is not wrong. It's hard to develop a kid when he's written about in sports magazines, talked about on social media platforms, and his parents want to know how much a coach is willing to pay to have their kid play for a certain program. They want more than just sneakers, bags, and sweatsuits. AAU is all money. From the programs to the events they play in. Parents want their kids to play for certain teams because the program plays in certain events. Some programs have little to no practice, just play games. Not all programs are like that. There are some programs that have 2 to 3 practices a week and may play every other weekend. That's 4 to 6 practices before they play a possible 2 or 4 games in a weekend. That the way AAU should be.
I loved that Charlotte team Zo, Muggsy, LJ ….. Coming from NC they really put NBA basketball on the map for us. A 6’11 center but played the paint like he was 7’3 , nice mid range jumper, shot blocker,I just wish that Charlotte team had 2 or 3 more years together those guys was exciting to watch

He chose Ewing over Wilt Chamberlain.. that’s interesting…
Zo is, first and foremost, a gentleman. One of the greats.
All real basketball fans love Alonzo Mourning 💫 - from a Knicks fan💚
I loved watching MJ dunk on him and knock him out of the playoffs lol. No, for real tho, Zo was a monster on the court! His play was phenomenal, he was fun to watch

Listening to these stories from the nba legends never gets old. Keep up the good work guys
Zo, at every point of his career, always reminded of a stern, strict uncle. Zo and LJ were a tough duo on NBA Jam. If you know, u know.
Yeah no doubt
That was my go to duo. LJ with those dunks too. Zo swatting EVERYTHING
Boom shakalaka
Hes on fire!!!! Best game ever
Grandma-ma!
Glad they did this interview. Zo does not get enough credit for his impact on the game. Always has been someone I had alot of respect for.

My favourite player growing up in the 90s. Loved his commitment to defence, hard work and tenacity.
This dude has my ultimate respect 💪ZO
How? He's a HOF. Popular conversation isn't the only conversation.

Already spent the money on the camp tho lol
ZO is weirdly underrated in his career
So many great centers and PFs back then. I miss that era
I don’t think so. He gets the respect he deserves given his resume
One of the greatest leaders ever and one of the greatest defensive players ever. And he could score
@PointofVision559 he really doesn't. His name should come up way more
What’s his rating? lol. I think it’s appropriate.
Grown up (mature) discussion! Love it! Grown-folk-talk.
I'm a Miami native. Used to go to Zo's Summer Grove and loved Zo and Timbugs era. Thank you Zo for your impact and contribution to our community!!
He was intensity & effort personified. That was what i liked most about Zo's game.

Raw, tough and an absolute defensive beast.
“ He was a six ten Vince Carter “ That is definitely the best analogy i have ever heard of Shawn Kemp 🔥🏀
Man, I love Zo. He was so intense when he played. Loved his passion
good guest...always loved Zo's defense, esp his blocks. he contested everything, even if he got dunked on
I remember Zo’s basketball summer camps in Miami. He was a big community guy before Shaq. As a kid we loved that guy.
Great pod. The warrior himself Zo! I loved watching him play. One of the best defensive players and best shot blockers since Bill Russell
Shawn Kemp needs to be on here. Reignman and Da Glove together would make a hilarious interview
My favorite center growing up. I had the 33 Hornets jersey as a kid.
I had an Alonzo Hornets jersey too. I had him and an Orlando Penny jersey.
A fan of Zo since his rookie year, I followed him to Miami and have been a Heat fan ever since.
Same
As above
As a heat fan since Zo days glad my guy getting his due 🎉🎉🎉
He deserves it.

Big Zo absolute legend
Zo vs Stephen Jackson’s take on painkillers shows exactly how different they are. Zo takes responsibility, Jackson looks to blame
Zo is a grown man. Jackson is a boy who never grew up
