- My ultimate goal for this game was a 1:00 average in the Gym Leader stages and 1:15 for the Elite Four stages. My averages in this run were 1:01 and 1:16. This was a damn good run. Shoutouts to the SRG Marathon and toufool whose Diddy Kong Racing run I was also watching while recording this run. I was only healed on twice--one on a slight miscalculation on Primeape and one in an absolutely horrendous Dragonite fight. Game time was 14:27; my ultimate goal is 14:15. And before I forget, tune in to the SRG Marathon 3.0 on Tuesday at 8:30 PM ET where I will race the former WR holder, unusualcook, in this category! It should be a good one!

Wow, congrats on an incredible time! Lots of sub-1 minute battles, notably that 3-time streak right off the bat. I liked that lucky chain comeback after Primeape healed. That was an unfortunate Dragonite battle, though, yeah... Hope you achieve your ultimate goal soon!
One of my best childhood games. Never finished it though. Farthest I got was stage 12 on easy. lol
this game just made me nostalgia!
A little off-topic, but I prefer these E4 and Champion themes over the originals. I like how more intense thay are than their mainstream counterparts. Also, the danger themes are... amazing compared to the 5th gen one from B/W. (Even as a gen-fiver, I can find flaws in the generation in question.)

Damn, this is impressive. The best I ever could manage was beating stage 10 of intense, and that was after about 10 hours of playing.
It took me over 60 continues to beat intense lol
I knew I was good a Tetris Attack/Puzzle League, but I have some work to do to get my x10+ chains to drop well.

wow crazy stuff. I play this even now but my best time is about 40 mins with 11 continues. On average, I have about 15-19 continues -.-'
Neat fact about this game and the puzzle league series overall: I loved this version of puzzle league so much that I used some of the staff's names for characters in a written series I'm producing, Hitoshi Yamagami and Yumiko Morisada are the names I used. I think Hitoshi still made Planet Puzzle League as well. As a matter of fact most of my character's names are all from this game or multiple games in the Puzzle League series. Also not only are the staff's names referenced in such a way to do them homage, I also have some references to the Pokemon series as well as I'm a big fan of that anyways.
Easy and Normal: Really easy pushover.
Hard: A little more interesting.
Very Hard: A good and difficult challenge.
Intense: Shitload of HUGE garbage blocks, and need to do insane chains or else ye out.
I had to try like 15 times to beat the 1ST stage on Challenge Intense. And what a god is that one who can get to beat this without any struggle or sweat.
What the flip man. How?
While I'm godly at the puzzle league series as a whole, I'm not on the level of these gods... Kudos to you.

Do you know what causes the opponent to heal? I thought it was a bug when it happened to me, but I guess it's supposed to happen. Can't find anything online about it.
I guess its the chains they make?
Hey this is late but I think it's connecting 3 heart blocks. So far it seems that 4 or 5 will do damage but I have done very little testing

i couldnt even beat this on easy.. i made it past steelix and then quit of frusteration
I'm stuck on Bruno on Normal
For me, easy mode was, you guessed it, easy. Like, the most time I spent on a match was 2 minutes easy.
