That hollow round brush is sometimes called a fountain brush ( at least that’s what Dynasty calls theirs). Use it like a stamp and it makes beautiful feathery little round flowers like asters, or can make starbursts. Held on its side or at an angle and can get leaves or generic blobby trees. With practice, feathery grass, but it’s hard to get it varied enough.

As far as the brush that makes the "o" shape, Rosemary & Co makes a similar brush they call the "rotary tree brush" and there are instructions on their website on how to use it, although they're a bit complicated and difficult to decipher. I'm sure it's much clearer in a video, but I can't seem to find a demo video anywhere. But it might be easier to understand the written instructions if you're holding it and trying it.

About 6 month ago there was a huge clearance sale here on Sennelier professional watercolour and I got a few tubes, and then a few more and then a lots more. Somehow I really like working with Sennelier. Maybe it is just in my head, but the paint never seems to fight me or be difficult with me. Other paints are very lovely, and I do like them (a lot as with all watercolours except Cotman and Daler-Rowney), but in some strange way Sennelier harmonizes with me quite well, almost as well as Mungyo (which is my favourite palette). The only drawback is that Sennelier doesn't have transparent orange and Misty Morning, as well as better bordeaux hue.
So if I ever get to go to France, it probably would be just Sennelier and then more Sennelier.

This is such a nice treat, Lindsay. I was born on the artistically wrong continent haha. Here in Southeast Asia, the older artists are into watercolors and inks while the younger ones are into sketch markers and inks, and art schools here make everyone use gouache, hence these are the art supplies abundant in our stores. I would die of happiness if I get access to the oil pastels of Europe!

Hahnemule is rather expensive here, as well as pretty much everything else because the only native watercolours are either hand-made (and so already expensive, such as Beam) or only available in some places and in really weird pans (Tri-art).

So intrigued by that new Sennelier Mixed Media paper! I did find it available in the US at a distributor in Georgia called MacPhersons, but it's quite expensive. They seem to not have their own stores, they distribute to other stores in the area, and it's not clear where you could buy it but I suppose you could call the 800 number if someone was really interested. Hopefully it will come to Jackson's soon. I would love to see that demo'd with the soft pastels you got at the pastellier, maybe with a watercolor underpainting.

I found the Uni Pin fineliners the other day in Barnes and Noble bookstore, of all places. Right by the cash registers. I bought three. Their sizes are off by 1 from most other brands, so I got a 0.2mm, 0.6mm, and a thin brush-style. The ink is supposed to be waterproof, but some of it moves if you wet it. Even after waiting 24 hours for it to dry, it made a pale gray cloud around the actual line. The ink flows well. The 0.2mm is more of a dark gray than a black, and feels slightly scratchier on the page. The other two are nice and smooth to draw with. The brush will make a line from about a 0.7mm pencil to a 2mm, which is thinner than the 0.2mm pen.

The blocks of paper would be worth the trip also.
We were on a tight schedule and had a set amount of time to shop on the way to Albi at the art store. I did not read anything about the paper except what it was made of. It was so cheap I assumed it was a pad and not a block.

Commenting on Theresa's (sp?) cool brush. I have hollowed out deerfoot stipplers, but try as I might, I couldn't find a flat topped hollow brush. Would be very interested to know what it's called and how to use it. On to the rest of the haul video. Thank you, Lindsay for showing the group hauls.

I got a red mini bijou from whiskey painters with their golden brush. Love love love it. It's a good fome palette from Italy. But the brush, let's talk about the mini brush. The brushes that come with palettes are always yuck; NOT THIS ONE. although it's tiny. Smaller in length than the w & n brushes, the brush is larger and softer. Talk about holding water and paint. If choose I wouldn't use it for anything larger than a postcard but that's just me. If you can find the bijou inexpensive I suggest you go for it. I wanted it bad enough to pay full price but again that's just me.
