i really hope dart is gonna be okay
He is gaining some movement in his jaw. But this is apparently a slow process. At least now he can eat soft kibbles where before it was gruel.

Yes he did recover. He lost the muscle mass on top of his head but otherwise is a normal doggie again. Thank you for checking up on him.

Have you talked to your local humane society? Many have programs to help provide medical care to animals. Some veterinarians do a certain amount of pro-bono medical care for pets of families who can't afford the usual costs. Make a lot of phone calls in your area. I don't think you have time for a go fund me.
That turned into a catch 22 here. Vet requires proof of ability to pay, and the places (I went to 3)that help with these things want you vets name and phone number. Can't get a vet because I don't have funds can't get help because ii don't have a vet that has seen him.
@@DIYwithUncleCy Ask the Human Society to recommend a vet and take your dog for an introductory visit to set up a relationship. The vet's office should set up a patient file and give you an estimate. Veterinarians, like people doctors, have different protocols. Look for one who has been around for a long time and not necessarily an animal hospital. Get on a local message board and ask for recommendations. Keep calling until you find a vet that will work with you.
I have a vet I have worked with before but they have never seen Dart, and they are expensive (but very good) hope to take him there once the fund hits $500. I think they will work with me if I can show them that.
Hey Cy, feel for you, it's ok to be upset they are essentially an important family member, our kids. Have you considered looking at someone that does Bowen Therapy, it really helped our girl after my wife accidentally run her over, well, backed over her not knowing she was under the car asleep. Her miniscus tendon was damaged, Vet wanted 5K to remove her leg, and the dog would have been on pain killers for the rest of her life. Rather we looked up what the Vet was talking about, and discovered that Bowen Therapy can be used to help the issue as it deals with Muscular issues. Bella is not fully recovered and never well be, but she has her leg, can walk on it, with most days you wouldn't know there was an issue. All it took was 2 sessions of about 20 minutes each, and she was up and walking again.

@@DiemenDesign I have found a Bowen therapist near me but he requires a regular vet diagnosis before he can work on Dart. Thank you so much, I will be setting up an appointment in the morning here.

Just lost my dog Brady last week. He was 16 years old. He stopped eating and drinking, and after 3 days of IVs and multiple tests, they believed he had Cushing's disease and a tumor in his brain. It was hard losing my best friend. Got him when I was 10 and he filled our lives with so much love. Our home feels like an essential piece is missing. Hope the small amount I can donate can help Dart. ❤
