I'm learning in a Corsa, so I may go for one as my first car. Eventually I am going to go for an Impreza, once I can afford it, but for now a Corsa seems to be the way to go for me. I find it easy enough to drive. I also like the Vectra weirdly enough, they're sturdy, bombproof cars. That's why the police and taxi drivers used to use Vectras. Problem with used Corsas is young lads buy them, thrash them then sell them on in less than good condition, even if they haven't got excessive mileage.
"What kind of car doesn't have average fuel economy as standard?" I gotta tell you Matt, here in Mexico a lot of cars don't. xD
jucarda572 50-50 here in Indonesia, which don't have avg fuel economy
Probably a tactic to stop owners from complaining that the vehicle is not getting anything close to the claimed figures. Because they don't know what they're getting. Ignorance is bliss.
+Rifqi Yudho I've got one in my Innova.
if there is average mpg, usually there is how much miles you have left with fuel you have
in the uk it should be standard..
The full trip meter functions are disabled, however if you know anyone with an opelscanner you can unlock these features pretty easily. It's kind of shitty that they do this though.
One of the nicest interiors for a small hatchback, better than the fiesta and clio
True! Especially the VXR with the full leather Recaro seats
@@CrusardModding I got one atm, sick motor!
@@joshuajackson7246 Unfortunately I was very late to the party and only got the GSi with the 1.4 Turbo but nevertheless I still got one with the full leather RECARO seats. Absolutely love the car and thanks to the heated windshield, heated seats and steering wheel it's very well suited for the winter and the city.
@@CrusardModding I looked at a GSI but the power the VXR has is sick! I got the full leather heated recaro’s. Awesome in the winter!
@@joshuajackson7246 You can get the VXR to 307hp if you let it tune by Klasen. Goes from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and is faster around the track than a BMW M2 Competition and an Audi TTRS.
I have a 2017 base model of the Corsa without Bordcomputer. So today I went to a programmer in Delmenhorst/Germany and in ten minutes, he managed to release my caged Bordcomputer for 45 Euro.
Now I have the 90 Horsepower Automatic Corsa with a Bordcomputer. Nice car!
Failed my second test yesterday, in my country i have to wait now at least 3 months to do the third test.. HOW AWESOME
Driven Junkie no its because there are only 300 testers testing more than 10,000 learners a year
think of it this way: 1. you'll realize you're just not meant to drive a car, or 2. you'll be the late bloomer who's got mad experience and you're going to beat them coming around the corner!
Will Lowe im definitely the second one, my second test was perfect until the tester told me to parallel park in a curve behind a car and i never learned to parallel park this way, when he told me to park i knew i will mess up, it really wasn't fair at all, i failed my second test because of something i never practiced.
Julian J Why didn't you practise then?
Jamoi because we only practice parallel parking in straight roads not in a curve
0:44 you cheeky I see the time is 420
ShroomWalrus blaze it boiii
That was a total coincidence, but you have the most apt username.
carwow lol
Nice to see a 6 speed box in such a small econobox
The heating steering wheel is ideal for keeping your hands warm while you are waiting for The RAC 😂
2:34 hey lois, i'm a vauxhall badge!
You should do a budget challenge's to find what are the best cars for first time drivers! For example, A) £100 - £1000 B) £1,100 - £2,000 C) £2,500+. Would be interesting what you can get for your money, cheap on insurance and is economic. Second hand too!
Get either the 1.4 SE or SRi
Don't understand how a brand new Corse isn't bigger news. I mean, it's no driver's car, but it's never been short of buyers
David Baker its not brand new,its a facelift
Mete Oguz
That explains it! Thanks!
The final verdict options - a good thing!
My mom rented a Corsa for a holiday and she absolutely hated it because of the poor visibility caused by the thick a-pillars and the driving position was terrible. She does have very short legs though
How is this a 2018 car when it is on a 16 plate and the video was uploaded in 2016?
Can you Please Review the new Renault Clio?
yes, i would also like that
@lauren kane Peugeot is crap, Renault not!
Harmless car but the lack of split folding rear seat is a big omission.
Do a review of the Adam, please!
The griffin badge :D
So the 1L engine Corsa is as quick as the Evoque, how peculiar.
The aircon button is right there on the left. Am confused lol
my 2009 fiesta came with average fuel economy. Then again, it didn't come with a "current fuel economy" indication so yeah.
love your reviews mat! keep up the good work. though I do kinda hate that Opel is Vauxhall in the UK :P
I know it's been two years, but why? I prefer the Vauxhall branding in every way.
I prefer the 2 good/bad things as a conclusion better than this what to do list... btw surprising price for that engine
Hi Matt. Will there be a 2016/17 Mini Cooper review anytime soon?
I love how apt it is that the Corsa review is out of focus, focus! get it? ford... Holden... focus... he's not in a focus... OK enough said, maybe too much :)
My 2018 corsa also doesn't show average mpg figures on the display :( will call them tomorrow and argue about it!
great review
Haven't mentioned the fact that if you're 6 feet tall you cannot see anything in the driver's mirror without your knees being about 2 inches from the dash.
Not this 6ft guy...
Back seat without 60/40 division could be a reason to buy another car.
"You don't want a car with no air con in 2016"
Maybe it's a weight saving feature to make this Corsa lighter, like 911 R or 675 LT
Will you be doing a review on the Vauxhall Adam?
I've got two of the fucking things. If you're thinking of parting with Hard Earned Green....DON'T.
It's cool how it comes with heated steering wheel and seats, keeps you warm while you are waiting for the AA to arrive 😵
What is AA?
@@CrusardModding Here in the UK it's a company that offers breakdown services and roadside assistance lmao
my favorite vauxhall is the adam. A lovely little car. Well proportioned and perfect for English towns.
Also extremely overweight for its' size, to the point where they had to introduce a new range of engines w/ turbos to cope.
not bad, but way too expensive
True
I personally drive the Vauxhall Viva, also a great car!
Published in 2016 yet the review is 2018?
How they are not ashamed to produce such an age old chassis design?
Can u pls make a video of koleos vs the hyundai tucson...?also pls tell a winner.thnx gr8 review
2:34 lol a foreshadowing to the 2018 Corsa 'Griffin' that we would get for a while before the new version came along
20 years older and 3 generations earlier model of Corsa has even more space in it.
5 generations of models ( A, B, C, D and E )
That's a nice colour, can't really think of anything else I can say about a Corsa.
Nick you can say it is a practical and economical city car.
They work and are cheap, that's about it
my parents have a corsa, it crashed twice, well, was rammed twice, the second time was totalled sadly.
It never had any issues apart from wearing down, and of course, the accidents, it protected the passengers both times, zero injuries, and Never stopped running by itself, the whole chassis was moved forward from the base, the wheels, including the engine, it was outside of place, and it still moves! It is still in the shop, I can go there, start it and it will move, it´s completely torn apart, so... not a bad car at all.
The older models were better, at least the ones sold here in America (Mexico) 15 years ago are still driving around in pretty good condition. (Mine is a 2003 and it feels a lot better than a new versa my grandparents bought)
Hey , will there be Mokka X 2017 review anytime soon :) ?
well done matt thumbs up
It's also 10 years old underneath! I wouldn't touch one.
it seems more like a facelift to the previous one
The corsa Still has a 4 star safety rating in 2018. fiesta had 5 stars back in 2008.
i have the previous gen, and honestly, it isn't that great. 5 door so more practicality, 100hp, but mpg in city is terrible, i get around 9 or sometimes even 10 liters/100km in city, car isn't suitable for highway because you're driving in 5th gear at 130km/h at arround 3.5k rpm or more, so really loud. Gearbox is total crap, sometimes it gets "stuck" between gears when changing, so i think i'm in gear and then when i release the clutch, gears grind - so it gives a false impression if you are in gear fully or not. plus one thing that is the most irritating: it holds revs a bit when you press the clutch, supposedly for easier changing gears but what it really does is making car nervous and you have to change your way of shifting gears in this car.
you either need to change your style of driving or you need bigger engine, not to big, but bigger, and go for diesel.
i average 7,5l/100km, when my mom drives it's usually over 10l/100km. if i tell you which car, you wouldn't believe me
GodricThe what car?
Honestly, you really need to change your driving-style or even take some courses again...
I had mine, also a previous gen sri black edition 3doors, for about 2years.
I took it to the tracks, like nurburgring and Zolder ( my local track) and never, ever had any troubles with it!
After 2y and 35K kms, it even still had it's original tires when I sold it!
Besides the airbox and a raceclutch, it was completely original. I did however also tilt the engine 3% for countering engine-friction ( a trick i learned at rallyteams). It performed very well on the nurburgring, even with the original suspension and after 2y of extensive trackuse, it didn't even had the smallest rattle!
This car did meet the fuelusage given by opel and never had any trouble what so ever.
That gearboxissue you state, has probably more to do with your own way of shifting. This one does have some long-gears and you need to give it time to shift, focus on what you do, instead of throwing it in like a madman....it's a sporty car, but not a sports car! there a difference...
One thing I do agree on, is the highway-use, though it won't break or anything, it's not a comfy car to drive for long distances.
Icl, i wanna put my dog in the boot when i buy the limited edition model, what do i do about the boot??
The shape of this Vauxhall Corsa E looks a bit old-fashioned now which was a heavily revised version of the Vauxhall Corsa D that debuted back in 2006. Vauxhall are now planning to replace the Corsa E in 2018/19 with a completely new model which will be Corsa F.
have to agree this corsa always felt like its facelift and not a new shape.
When are you reviewing the Peugeot 208?
Where is your video on the new 2021 corsa elite ?
2:35 everyone it’s Peter Griffin 🤪
Just came here to see Mat roast the plastics lol
Opel out Germaning the Germans with MPG display option. This will now be an option on all future BMW lines for 2018
Opel's are German cars...
Plz review the new renault clio Matt
What about the Limited Edition?
Can you make a review of the model F vauxhall corsa 2020
Another annoying thing about the Corsa - not as safe as all its rivals.
first time he shows the screen-clock is 4:20
second time he shows seconds after-clock 3:27
Does anyone know how reliable this car is
I've been hearing mixed reviews with people with no problems then others with many
notformebeaky I don't find it dull
I quite like it
And good point
notformebeaky but then for me I find people in new Corsas are quite sensible and I see Peugeot drivers are the worst but it depends where you are from
Lol no they don't, most manufacturers do not at all make reliable vehicles
That snowflake ❄ button is aircon.
Vauxhall is the same as Opel ?
Vauxhall is a name used for UK only, Opel for Germany, France, and the rest of continental Europe !
I love this
South Africans love the corsa .
I'd have a fiesta
Hate those front lights, there are loooong
Why doesn't that have a trip computer for your fuel consumption and range in 2016 That's ridiculous my Corolla has that and it's 2005
I have the previous generation in auto ,big mistake getting auto, drinks petrol , is dull to drive and shamefully slow. Only exciting thing is the colour. Perfect boring learners car
They still don't have a foot rest or decent glovebox! Still!!!
Mat, please do a review for the new Honda Civic.
We will
carwow dear Mat, i have watched a review about the new Civic and the reviewer has so admired the steering wheel and he said that this steering system is as much direct and responsive as the one in porsche 911... so please particularly mention about the steering of Civic during the review.
Matt, is the corsa still quicker than a fiesta? Also, is there a cup holder in the front seats?
There's 2 cup holders in front of the gear stick but would only recommend using cans for these as bottles rattle against the bit of the dashboard where the controls for heat and stuff are
+AHCy0 As well as two cupholders behind the Handbrake. These aren't tight enough tho so better for bottles as cans may tip over
Depends on the engine. In horsepower terms, the 1.0T from the Corsa pulls 90bhp whilst the Fiesta's most common EcoBoost pulls 100bhp. Sooo not much of a difference to be honest. Do believe the Corsa is better on fuel with this engine though since it has 6 gears instead of the regular 5.
+Philz The 1.0T is 115bhp
Whoops, my bad,
Are you sure there isn't an av.mpg? I have a gtc and instead of pressing the button on the stalk you twist the stalk to get the mpg up.
It just seem odd that it have phone central locking, a half decent enfotainment system, but lack an almost standarised feature.
Different spec to your GTC or because the GTC is a higher model than a Corsa.
AHCy0 no shit. But the stalk twist, and end button on the indicator, to control the car functions runs through the vauxhall range from, viva entry spec to insignia top spec..
I just find them leaving out that function, on any spec, never mind this corsa isn't entry, but mid spec, unthinkable. It makes no sense.
I know the viva entry level has it as it's the courtesy car they give you when you take your in.
Hi Stephen, I was part of the test team with Mat. We prodded and twisted every button and switch we could find, but an mpg reading wasn't anywhere to be found. We agree with you that it's odd for a car with so much kit for the money to not have something so simple..
Alex Ingram that's just bizarre. I know the entry level viva had the same set up as my GTC SRI. So it just makes no sense to leave it out of this car, that seems to have more kit on it than mine.
Alex Ingram hi again Alex, don't know if youll see this, but my GTC has just gone in for some attention (rattle in exhaust) and they can easily me a 1.4 corsa, and it seems the stalk that is ment to give e you info, isnt actually attached to anything. I still can't believe it has Android août and no Mpg! Madness.
In this thread I've hated on the 4 door corsa, but it's actually not a bad car. My mother in law has an 09 ka, and she just took the corsa out and wants one now.
The vauxhall city steering function is horrible. But in normal mode it's fine for hat it is. It's no GTC, but I quite like the 1.4 corsa. Giant wait to give it back though lol.
thats a nice car, i prefer the fiesta though..
Gtd review
This is most probably the most common car in the UK😆
and mostly driven by new drivers lol
Many more driven by people who have driven badly for years.
Chavonwheels.com
A cheap car just like the previous versions , they only changed the int/ext design
The old ones were better, at least the ones sold here in America (Mexico) 15 years ago are still driving around in pretty good condition. (Mine is a 2003 and it feels a lot better than a new versa my grandparents bought)
Where’s the shark on this model?
0:36 2016?
yeah there's a family guy logo in the boots opening
For the fuel economy you can buy a 20 dollar device that can unlock it and some other feauters
And theres one another annoying feature or better to say lack of it and thats an armrest!
Nice car!
will you make a VW UP! Review
:)
air con i had in my last 2 cars, and never used it,just open the window :) dont see the point to it in this country tbh
I've had AC cars for nearly 25 years. Opening a window does not do the same thing.
do bmw m6 gran coupe review
Nice man
What does it mean to shortlist it?
It means it is one of the best of its class.
Pedro Macedo
Allright thanks.
avoid: nope. hell no. no way
consider: i'll think about it, but won't think about it after i leave the test drive
shortlist: i'll pool together the few cars that i want to buy and pick from one of those.
buy: shut up and take my money.
example shortlist: blue iphone 8 vs white samsung galaxy 8....... hmmm.... i think i'll go with the blue one because it brings out the color in my eyes!
What Will said. We'll take a blue iPhone too, cheers
Wow Peter Griffin in the boot
Hi I'm ten years old love your vids
Why did you have to say your age? While you're at it,you might as well put your full address and phone number
EVERYONE RUN IT'S A CORSA
He is talking about like the corsa d wasn't the same...
But what if you are chased by baddies in a Corvette through a shopping center?
You really should take a leaf out of Jeremy Clarkson's book or otherwise you'll be no good at giving proper consumer advice.
2018 review?????
its a Chavmobeale. Innit!
2:34 hehehe hey Lois im a Vauxhall corsa
What does the eco button do
Turns off the AC compressor.
