    I have driven both the Corsa & the Fiesta. Both are equal in my opinion when it comes to driving them however the Fiesta cannot compete with the Corsa when it comes to the interior. The old-fashioned 'nokia' style interior of the Fiesta is trumped by the Corsa's more refined Intelilink system.

    The Corsa is a decent car, just look at how many are used by the driving schools and rental car companies. It's not as enjoyable as some others, but it does what you expect it to. Most of us drive shortish distances in urban areas and it's a car that does this adequately.

    Impressive how the Corsa's interior rivals the much more expensive Audi A1:s.

      I have an Opel (vauxhall) corsa and my mum has an audi A1. I actually think that the interior of the Corsa is better. The A1 may look sportier with leather seats and all... but that's it. The dash is one of the dreariest ever. I actually don't recommend the A1. It's a really good car but it's also a bit overpriced considering what it has to offer. You could get a mini for that price, which is faster, more luxurious and better looking.

    The split seat is such a useful thing, it's bizarre that Vauxhall have chosen to omit it so far up the range. The flat boot floor and fold-flat seats from the previous car were one of its strong points.

  • @ralphsaad8637

    I have one and it's a real pleasure to drive. I don't know what the negativity in the comments is about. It looks great, drives great and is reliable. Seems like the comments are filled with ford fiesta fans who are bashing the car because it is seen as competition ( I've never looked at it that way, ford fiesta are rather unpopular here in Lebanon).

      History, Vauxhall was an established brand in the UK.
      GM bought them way back and started producing 'Opels' there, but no one knew that brand, presto, the Opels were called Vauxhall.
      Probably the same story with Holden.
      On the island of Ireland it's pretty messed up. Ones registered in the South (Republic of Ireland) are badged 'Opel', the exact same car on the other side of the border in the North (Northern Ireland, part of the UK) has the Vauxhall badge.

That 1.0 engine is really really good. Very quiet and is willing. It is very strong and feels good than the Polo 1.0 engines with sluggish sound especially when going harder on accelerator. Corsa 3 cylinder is refined. Now i have 94 000km on the dash and it still feels so good and smooth. Am very happy

    Out of all the reviews I've seen for this car, the Onstar system fails to get a mention almost all of the time. A feature that other hatchbacks don't have. The Onstar system acts as a free Wi-fi hotspot for your car, plus Iphone and Android mobiles can connect to the screen on the dashboard. Basically, I can stream music all the time without using the data on my phone. The model I've purchased also has a hill start assist system and the clutch is easier to use than the car I learnt to drive in (Ford focus Zetec 2012).
    I have also driven my older brothers new ford fiesta red edition which is also a great car. Admittedly his car has far more power, the seats are nicer and it has a rear view camera for parking but he is paying roughly 60% more than me over the next three years if you include insurance and servicing, on top of the finance deals.
    The reasons for buying a Corsa over other hatchbacks really comes down to the cost, but the features aforementioned really do make it an enjoyable car to drive and a great first car. I'm really looking forward to picking up a limited edition model this week.

    Is it just me that thinks modern cars are getting bigger and bigger all the time! The Corsa is supposed to be a small car But that is anything but small... It's the same with every class, hatchback, saloons, coupes etc.. the size of Britain's roads are not getting any bigger than they where neither are car parks, or the parking bays! I know people say it's because of safety. But compare these cars to there 90s equivalent and it's mad.

    This actually does look better than the previous generation but not as good as the Adam. And there's still that element of white good/fridge on wheels about it. Still it's a long way away from the Nova.....personally 6 gears in a supermini seems excessive but as I drive an Eighties supermini (a Nova) with just 4 gears and zero fancy-ass electronic stuff...this is a limousine by comparison.

    Also they have clearly left room for a facelift model in a few years time. For example the front fog lights that are currently facing at a downwards angle at the end will then change to the angle going upwards in the facelift model.. Hence the term "Facelift" This is a common marketing trick purposely done by manufacturers to make the same model of car look "fresher"and therefore attract more customers back that can get one over on their friends etc by having the newer looking model.. But it's just a marketing gimmick. so I'd wait for the "Facelift" model in about 3 years time before buying one of these.

      Actually it looks aggressive and it is looking great. Mine is 2015 1.0T and has split rear seat. Energetic, luxury features such as blind spot sensor, engine auto stop start, advanced self parking assist that you can't even find in 2018 VW Polo. And engine super smooth and quiet. To me it looks perfect.

    It's a bit of a running joke that Matt's height seems to change in this he's 5ft 11 in a more recent one he says he's 5ft 10.5. Whilst the difference is very slight, so too is the variance in the legroom in these cars with an inch or so making a big difference. Wouldn't it be better to get measured and state how tall you are?

  • @grdixon83
    @grdixon83 10 лет назад

    Hmmm, I get corporate nose's but the Adam front end just does'nt suit the Corsa! Lets hope this does'nt spread to the other Opel/Vauxhall's. Also the Fiesta is nigh on unbeatable this gen, Ford has a tough job in replacing it in 3-4 years time!

    the front looks good but the back looks like a badly squashed astra and that 1.0 3cyl turbo engine sounds all good with 115bhp there about but its £30 year to tax which is not alot but compared to the 1.0 ecoboost engine in a fiesta with 125bhp is £0 free to tax even renault's 0.9tce is £0-20 tax even on a sandero its the same so really its a bit of a poop engine

      I never liked the Fiesta. I don't see how it can conpete with the Corsa. It's just ugly and dreary to look at. This one is way more stylish.

    • @maartendemuynck3653
      @maartendemuynck3653 9 лет назад +1

      Argantonis It probably is. It's a shame that those in charge at the GM/Opel plant in Spain (where this five-door Corsa is built) didn't bother to move the fuse box while converting the car to right hand drive for Britain. This problem used to be typical of PSA Peugeot Citroën, but apparently it's affecting other manufacturers, too.

    • @Argantonis
      @Argantonis 9 лет назад +1

      It wouldn't be that bad if Vauxhall wasn't percieved as a British car maker. I know the perception is far from the truth but still. It's a minor little detail, but so is rectifying the problem.

    It's not really good for the engine or gearbox to run at 30mph in 6th gear unless hardly any load on the engine. Probably best to stay in 5th untill 40mph.plus must be a close ratio gearbox so 6th is the same as 5th on a 5 speed

      Super_Slav The fact we've had two over six years (one 10 years old when we sold it) without a single fault would beg to differ. Also, considering nearly everything mechanical in Jeeps was Mercedes until 2011, they can only be as reliable as Mercedes lets them!

    another no wow factor Opel/Vauxhall, a magazine here has just taken a 2010 Meriva apart after 80000 kms of use as they do with all makes, a very bad analysis, very poor reliability, electronics and engine to name just two, and the run we got from our son's Tigra, a horribly unreliable car, I think Ford make generally a better car.
