Gotta give Bobby Unser credit. When something happened to Little Al like this or when Emmo put Little Al into the wall in ‘89, Uncle Bobby NEVER complained on air.

I was there. I was 6. Great memories I'll never forget.

Check out Marshall Pruett's latest podcast on Danny's win. Danny gives a vigorous explanation of his difficulties at the Galles team which really start after punting Little Al here.

Zack Henderson They also had get-togethers later on in the year at Detroit Belle Isle and Cleveland. Maybe they were not cut out to be teammates. I know this, when Little Al & Bobby Rahal were teammates, they always raced each other clean.

If Michael Andretti didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all. The top 4 come down to quite a battle in the final 10 laps, and a bit of a controversial moment to decide it all. An enjoyable race anyway.

Good quality, thank you so much for uploading this ! Long Beach was always my favorite race of the season.
Does anyone know the title of the song playing in the beginning ? That song puts me in "90s indy mode".

So great to see Danny Sullivan win this close Long Beach race. Tough break for little Al when they made contact near the end. First win for Danny since the 1990 season. A fun race to watch.

1:18:44-1:19:04 the moment that changed the 1992 Long Beach Grand Prix. Holy cow, that was crazy!

that's pretty close to the same way Al Unser Jr. became "King of the Beach" as he launched Mario Andretti in 1988 en route to his first win at Long Beach.

Mario Andretti is my favorite driver of all time but he's dead wrong here. Eddie Cheever never moved over and Mario screwed up. I'm just glad I never hated Cheever like other Andretti fans.

According to Mario Andretti Mario Andretti has never made a single driving error in his whole career.

Was this the race that "King" Hiro Matsushita got his nickname from? That was terrible blocking in the final laps.

Cheever not to blame for Mario accident. Huge respect for Mario but Andretti family never keen to take blame for anything. Michael was the same and Marco even worse.

although Mario Andretti is my favorite driver of all time I have to say it looks to me that although Cheever is not in a natural line through there he didn't turn right into Mario. Mario misjudged it and took them both out and this whole feud is stupid
