This race was a bit dull, but the black and gold Genuine Draft livery is one of my fav Indycar designs. That team was such a mess in 91 with Sullivan and the Alfa engine. Rahal steps in, they change engines to the 91 Chevy spec, and suddenly they're contenders again.
Sam didn't know that Indycar would intentionally stay at around 230. He was going by what had happened for the first 80 years of racing that the speeds were constantly going up and if they did let them go as fast as they could Sam would probably be close to right
Just to clue you in: they went with how HE told them he wanted it pronounced, regardless of spelling. Paul Page discussed it on air many times over the years. So, in fact, how YOU pronounce it is wrong. Amazing: even one of the richest people in the world can be made into a victim by a member of the PC patrol (operating , not uncommonly, on arrogant presumption.)
Bobby Rahal just dominates the race
Rahal and Ganassi. Who'd have imagined they'd still be IndyCar team owners in 2024? Incredible.
Yeah haha amazing Rahal owns a Honda dealership too
I enjoy how Paul and Bobby openly ignore Sam Posey from lap 50 on.
This is one of those instances of why ABC moved Bobby to the Turn 2 suites for the 500
I miss the days where a driver and team could WAXX the whole fuckinf field and people weren't pissing and moaning about passing.

Different teams. Sullivan was with Patrick Racing, Rahal was in the first year of Rahal/Hogan Racing.
@@garys7877 Rahal Hogan was built from the spoils of the 91' patrick team
Livery ? What's that F-1 crap ? Livery describes horses not cars.
Nope! We barely even stay at 225 fast speed this year! 300 next year, that's why it's predictions!

Has the 300mph barrier been broken in the year 2015?
The fact that they never bother to learn Matsushita's name is endlessly funny to me. Insularity is America's only remaining tradition.
At least they didn't call him the Jap driver.

I was gonna say surely Paul talked to the drivers about how to pronounce their names. @@wpbarchitect1800
