    Major throwback to when I scoured the internet for 6800XT RT performance and found your channel. What a solid card, absolutely love it, just wish it had better RT performance and AMD improved their upscaling. Having flickering issues at 4K quality setting is such a bummer but you can further optimize a lot of these games for smooth 70-90 FPS which is what I prefer instead of FSR.
    I remember when Alan wake first came out, fsr quality was unplayable with all the flickering, does this issue still persist? Anyways, great video, long may we get 6800XT content 🥳

      Lets see what FSR 3.1 brings to the table.

      There is a big question in my mind with the AFMF drivers. Is AFMF ever totally turned off.
      If you want to use Afterburner you cannot do so with any 2024 drivers. You need Adrenaline to turn off AFMF, or you're running AFMF at 100%. You have no way to change the quality of AFMF either.
      RDR2 was in shambles without Adrenaline to turn AFMF off.
      But even with it turned off in Adrenaline, the drivers from 11/23 still looks better in RDR2. Unsure what else changed, but not using AFMF or FSR there is still 10FPS more in most areas of the game. Up to 15FPS. So it seems there is some of the AFMF working even when everything is off. Because the same effect is multiplied with AFMF and FSR2.0 turned on in RDR2. That's also when the bloopers gets good in the game.... Ai slides across the road and sand on the railroad tracks looks like snowdrifts. 1080p gets 300fps down to 80fps then back to 300fps, constantly.
      Raising a gun in RDR2 caused dropped frames and stutter. Same as quick action from an Ai in single player mode gaming.
      Like you High medium 1080p at High medium settings in RDR2 was awesome for 120 solid FPS across the map. So I need to install the 11.2023 drivers before AFMF released to play RDR2 with decent graphics.
      Seems more like AFMF is baked into the newer drivers for benchmark purposes. And FPS bragging rights.

    I tested over 23 games with the 6800XT in this video, each one is labeled as a chapter. When it comes to the results they should also be representative of the RX 7800XT as these two GPU's perform practically identically in gaming.

  • @XDDX_NZ
    @XDDX_NZ 4 месяца назад +3

    Mammoth video and great video idea. I do think a lot of mid range GPU's can do 4k well enough especially with how good upscaling is getting now. Thankfully the 6800 series had a lot of VRAM to allow it to take advantage of these features. It's so satisfying to see the VRAM usage going to 13-14gb in some games. Haven't watched the entire video yet since it is so long, so not sure if you covered Frame gen on here too, but that's also another thing that the 6800XT can keep taking advantage of into the future as the tech matures more.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  4 месяца назад +2

      I did look at frame gen in Infinite Wealth and TLOU. My goal was to show that a 4K 60 is possible, even if it isn't with some settings tweaks in these big AAA games.
      The video is very long lol. I thought of maybe splitting it into parts but figured its a better idea to put all games in the same video and people can just look at the games they're interested in.

    Lol that was fun to watch, since I play 1440p UW I always forget what this Gpu can really do at times, definitely one of the best VFM hardware solutions AMD has released so far and still going strong 4 years later, I almost don't want to upgrade next year because I really wanna see how far it can go (although I'll plug it in my gf's rig so I'll be able to check on it from time to time, she doesn't play demanding games so it will last her for quite a while) and I'm also gonna miss it tbh, I don't know why but I'm attached to it knowing it's in my case, sounds weird AF I know LOL.
    Also LotF is still getting a million updates every week but they break more than they fix (they got it stable at some point actually, shoulda left it like that). But yea it gets boring since all the enemies have the same basic moveset with only a couple variations and they try to make it more ''challenging'' by throwing hordes at you which doesn't work ofc after you get the mechanics down (which doesn't take long). LoP imo is a real and fair challenge, one the of the hardest souls like with incredible writing, I've played through it countless times and I still can't get enough. Masterpiece imo.
    Also I'll check out Kingdom Come, It's very popular and I have heard of it before but I never got it (can't play em all lol) but if you insist on it being good I'll give it a shot before 2 comes out, I'm also a bit of a sucker for medieval setting games.
    Also still hoping (and secretly crying my self to sleep... jk) for the Kotor remake 😂
    Anyways man that was an incredible video, you deserve all the subs and support, I know you're doing this as a hobby but I'll still be joining when you get your Yourtube join button thingy. Well done, really enjoyable.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks. I am actually monetized now but haven't activated the Join button. I don't know I have to look into it and maybe offer something for those who may want to join. It's all good I appreciate your support, watching commenting the feed back its all appreciated.
      As for Kingdom Come you will love it if you like medieval settings. Its like a medieval peasant to hero journey. The most challenging part is understanding how the combat works although I feel you will figure it out and apreciate its mechanics and aim at realism.
      You are just a peasant who cant even read, you eventually learn to read and as you fight and practice fighting you become stronger at points even scaring enemies that wouldve attacked you previously to flee.
      The save system is also not like an Elder Scrolls game where you can save anywhere but man its a very immersive experience.

    • @constantinesoldatos
      @constantinesoldatos 4 месяца назад +1

      @@TerraWare ''and maybe offer something for those who may want to join'' You're already offering content lol.
      Anyways just got the game on steam (it's practically free atm so hopefully more will support it before 2 is out) and can't wait to dive into it. I think I'll love the combat system tbh and I read that quests are fairly non linear (did some research after your video) so I think I can probably play as either a ''dark'' or ''light'' side character.
      Was also hoping to try No Rest for the Wicked but it looks like it's having a rough launch so I'll let them cook and wait for the official release. Shame cause I REALLY liked the Ori games but they can still easily turn this around.

    Who in the 20th century buys a AMD card for ray tracing, thats like buying a Nvidia card for FSR, Lmao. The 6800xt in native no upscale craps on many of the nvida lineup and its only comparable to the most expensive of Nvidia. Nvidia released many cards, but some are NOT even worth a serious look as theyre trash eg. 4060TI. AMD has stepped up to the fight and the 6800xt and 7800xt are some of their premium fighters that get the job done. If RT and optimum upscaling is your thing then obviously you are not looking at AMD or Intel. But quite a few AMD cards offers no upscaling needed and no excuses for raw performance, the 6800xt is just one example, your wallet will determine the others.
