- I try out the new prototype Takomo IGNIS D1 driver. How does this driver stack up against the hugely popular Takomo irons? Find out what I like and what I don't.

If you're open to doing another video on this, I think it would be helpful to hit some with your "gamer" driver to establish a baseline. Thank you for doing the people's work!!
agreed - that way we can see if you are swinging it well that day and all drivers are performing, or shaky that day and no drivers are performing.
That is a beautiful head. I’m a huge fan of a traditional looking head and this checks the box. I am going to try this out. Thanks for sharing.
Good looking club! Great review AJ.
Very G425 Max looking, especially the sole and movable weight section. With no turbulators. I actually like it.
I purchased one of the Prototypes this summer. I have the 9.0 degree model. I am impressed with the performance of the driver. I'm getting my top end distance from it pretty consistently and the dispersion is narrow so I am finding fairways more often.
Adjusting it was quite easy. I did feel like some information on the adapter and settings would have been helpful, like an email with a link to a tutorial?
To my horror the shaft - hzrdous smoke 5.0 50 grams mid spin - snapped after about a month of regular use. I sent pictures of the break and was very pleased to learn the warranty covered the replacement. I received a new shaft, with the stock grip and a new adapter included within 2 weeks. I was happy to discover I would not have to bear any repair costs. This was my first DTC experience and it has been as comfortable as I could have hoped. I am seriously considering buying a set of their irons for next golf season.
The adjustable shaft cog is a major bonus!!!! This means you can play around with loft settings without having to regrip! Nice!!!!
Yeah, that's actually a great bonus.
Agree with you. I know you were talking about those Callaway adapters. I don't like those either.
I would love this adapter type on a TM head. The ability to lower loft without changing face angle would nice!
I have the Ignis (Latin for Fire) driver too, and I have the Hzdrus blue in 5.5. The thing I found was that with the counterbalanced shaft, I needed to put in the 25 gram weight in order to bring it to D1 swing weight. With the 15 gram, the swing weight was C4! Overall, I am also a fan of this driver, which with the 65 gram shaft is actually about 10 grams lighter than my Cobra Speedzone with a 55 gram shaft. Very happy with it and it's staying in the bag.
What were you gaming before you got this driver? Does this one out perform it?
Not having to turn the shaft when changing hosel setting is VERY good. Callaway has that.
Hello Takomo, this is Ping calling. We’d like our driver back lol
Thank you for the honest review. Do you still have the T201 in the bag?
I got the Ignis D1 9.0 degree driver as well after having loved the 101T irons ans Skyforger wedges. I find it looks incredibly closed at address and just makes me feel its going to hook. And no alignent aid on the crown isn't particularly helpful. The sound i find to be fine, i was worried it would be tingy but wasnt at all.
This new Ignis driver looks strangely similar to my Ping G410. I'd try it just to see whether it behaves the same way as well.
Did you ever get a chance to try it?
Good luck getting the 101t right now in left handed lol
It seems like a version of Ping 410 driver.
What are the adjustment increments on this? I saw on the site it can go + or - 2° but what about in between?
Another great video. Is this club USGA approved? If not available from Takomo can I order it from you?
looks a lot like the ping g425 without the turbulence things on the crown
It is a blend of a Titleist and Ping, but sounds like not as heavy a head weight as Ping.
hello I like this driver I am currently using Ping G400 max I want the sound like G400 max
Just wondering, what is the length of the Ignis driver that you used in the review? You mentioned that you cut it down to fit your needs.
44 7/8
Baby don't got Turbs....
I looked up other reviews and only saw one from James Robinson(a year ago!?) and no more. Strange.
I noticed they do not offer a senior shaft .Can you get the shaft adapter and change the shaft?
You could pull the existing shaft and change it I believe though I have not tried it yet.
How is the head cover? Any info on lefties? Great video BTW
Had the head cover in the first version of video and then cut it out for time. Nice cover, blk/wht with Takomo and driver name on side and 1 on the top. Not sure on LH.
Also hoping for a LH version of this bad boy.
Checked Takomo website. Don't see the driver listed. What was the price for the driver?
$359 It's on the website. Just put driver in the search window
Breath bro!
AJ let's see a video of a higher hcp player test it vs their current one. Use Crabby for it

I see this as a Wilson Carbon killer..It’s a Proto , I expect changes from various feedbacks.

Waiting for more lefty options ….takomo
Love it! I'd be interested in this driver for sure! I'll check it out! 🐊🏌⛳️🦅🇺🇸
Any word on 3 Wood or hybrid?
Whispers
@@EFGMC :o
Literally a ping driver with no turbulators
How much? How available?
It's on the Takomo site. Just need to search driver. It's kind of hidden.
I cannot find it on website
@@jonathannelson4007 Type driver into the search bar or Google Takomo driver
So tired of online gold dudes pissing and moaning about Sound. If you worry about sound, you aint got it IMO
Have their irons, glad to see the driver. Great review, first I've seen. Thank you.
Probably will to have the lottery win before I can buy any more equipment now, sure would like the driver match with the irons though.
Maybe they will get a fairway wood prototype coming. Hybrid maybe.
Dream, dream, hope them the best, and you too.
Thanks again on your thoughts.
❤ 🏌️✌️
Good looking driver, performes well, sounds great, but at $359.00 doesn't sound heavily discounted. Golf had become to expensive. Nice review.
