I loved this topic!! I know that fasting method as a whole doesn't support on particular way of eating, but I do wish food was talked about more because like Dr. Terry said, food is important. While I have created a plan that is built from many different plans and lots of research, it would be nice to have a place to discuss foods and recipes. Though I can only afford the face book page, which is um, interesting to say the least sometimes. It would be good to get some feed back, I am a part of other groups for that purpose but I do support the fasting method. And what they stand for. Thanks Dr Terry!! I appreciate anytime any of you cross the road to discuss food choices.

Dr. Fung says all the time to focus on natural foods. As close to as they come from nature as possible. He also says that if your weight loss is slower, to decrease the starchy natural foods - potatoes, rice, etc, and focus on the lower carb vegetables, and he included beans in this category.

It is imperative that after you fast, you nourish. Otherwise you’re going to get sick.

Very good and timely podcast. I appreciate the perspective to get confident with what you are doing between fasting before turning up the dial...as well as, if you aren't successful, you just were not ready yet. Very positive and encouraging - yet direct.

    Excellent podcast
In my journey, heathy food is just as important as fasting. One cannot do one without the other for success. As well, what is healthy for one might not be for another.

This is a very important topic for me. Here is exactly where I go wrong. I eat too much at a time. I eat when I'm tired. I eat when I feel bad. I eat to celebrate. Somehow these things need to change and it is so hard not to fall into old ways. Please keep addressing how to change our relationship with food and our habits around food.

Love this topic! It's so true that fasting can't do all the work. You also have to take into account what you're eating and drinking at other times and your TRE. Thanks for the suggestions on how to reflect on our relationship with food and when to move forward or back.

Agree that what you eat is just as important as fasting. Personally, I’m focusing on lots of vegetables, beans, rice or potatoes, and unprocessed animal protein, moderate/lower fat. Huge meal, and not a lot of calories because the bulk is vegetables; the sides of beans and rice make it extremely filling and satisfying (I’m a South American beans&rice eater). Eating this OMAD meal is all I need, no hunger. I eat this for lunch and digest it all day long. Little hunger in the morning and none the rest of the day.
And I allow myself a small piece of chocolate to finalize it, I just need that little bit of a sweet something or else I don’t feel I’m done. After that, I’m 100% satisfied until my next lunch. Losing weight steadily.

I have the opposite reaction. I end up with heartburn and bloating if I do what you're doing. Menopause ruins your metabolism and your gut. Fewer vegetables, no starches, more beef is good for me. I eat kimchee and pickles. Fermented veggies are fine, no bloating.
