Just having the Zerg macro cycle explained, as well as rally points, camera setup and then remembering that the pros do this without really thinking about it... really drives the point home about why they are pros.

Not really. This should be your baseline structure in SC2. Get your macro down before you worry about build orders. You could copy a build order 1 for 1 but if you don't have good macro then you'll still lose
Its not really that impressive... Like, a pro runner isn't a pro because he takes so many steps in a day.... This is no different. These are the very core basics, which as a new player will of course take time to learn, but they are basic muscle memory. No different than how you don't think about moving your legs when you walk, well, then you're new to starcraft its a lot like learning how to walk but the profesionals aren't pro because they walk real good...
I'm 32 with no prior experience to other games than FPS, which I've only played for 2 years, and I grasp exactly what you're doing. Just so you know. I wouldn't even be able to play starcraft without these videos, I can tell you that much. I even won my third game against other than AI after 9 days of playing the game by doing exactly as you tell us to do. I can't stress enough how good these videos are and I wish there was one of these videos for every game that has hard/complicated mechanics like Quake or other RTS games
This is extraordinarily helpful for those stuck in bronze. As long as they want to get better. 10 years ago day9 did something similar and got me from complete noob to diamond. So don’t listen to the haters.
One thing that is extremely important in settings that PiG clearly doesn't know about because he's never been this low level is make sure you set your preferred server to the best ping (under language and region). the last thing you need when learning is getting put on US east from Australia because that's the best match the system could find. Once you hit masters you will no longer be able to specify a server any more so enjoy good ping while you can.
I was so bad at this game that I could barely even play against Easy AI. These videos have given me a foundation for actually understanding what I'm doing in the game and I'm already making progress. Thanks
This is the most helpful, encouraging, newbie-friendly guidance I’ve seen since Day[9]. Maybe more so. Just hearing “it’s okay to not be perfect” and “it’s okay to enjoy the cool parts of the game” is refreshing. It makes me want to reinstall. Thanks!
PIIIIIGGGGG! So much great content. I was stuck in silver for the longest time and then took a 7 year break from the game. After watching these videos and putting in a little more time, I immediately jumped into gold. I’m big into watching my replays now and seeing where I am especially at 3:30 and 4:30ish. Biggest tip I keep telling myself is to not be afraid to lose matches
Pig-I have been playing BW and SC2 for over 20 years now. I have always been a casual player that loved the skill ceiling. But I also love systems and strategies to improve. I am a fan of your work and appreciate you stepping in where Day9 stepped out (no disrespect, he is obviously a legend). I know you have begrudgingly started this series. I want to thank you for that. I have been following various B2GM series over the years and I have continuously capped out at high plat with Terran and Toss. Once I start facing those low-level diamond players, my MMR just plummets. I have always been interested in Zerg and now that you started a B2GM I thought this was a perfect jumping-on point. I bought a fresh account and dropped into Bronze 1. With just this video, I zoomed to Gold 3 in a day. I noticed you have a few additional rough notes for Gold 3+ so I assimilated as much as I could. (Essentially, after the roach timing I just drone to 60 and push with the roach/hydra). This morning I hit Plat 3. In three days, I reached the league that I have been stuck in for literal years. I can't wait to see where this series goes. Thank you for taking the time to do this; I know it is a ton of work. I will continue to support you and promote this series the best that I can. Keep up the good work.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time and going into detail with the keybindings and settings. This will probably be my most watched video for the next month.
This is exactly my current situation as well! Played Brood War rather competitively for 6-10+ years and played Wol beta a fair bit, but never ladders much until a couple months ago I started playing again. Getting used to the amputated half-index finger too lol
2023 EDIT: I've started a new Zerg Bronze to GM series over on the Coaching channel, check out the playlist here ruclips.net/p/PLOrKQEirgvjD0h2N70b__CNnBkypGp0oz | This original B2GM series is still completely relevant btw! Heyo! Thanks so much for watching and supporting my first B2GM series. My Terran and Protoss B2GM series have been uploaded to ruclips.net/user/PiGRandom so sub to that channel for my educational content in future
WOW! That was very mature, stracturized and hella interesting tutorial! Couldn't even imagine that i would watch it whole from start till the very end, considering it's length! Decided to learn playing SC2 at 33, played couple of games, noticed the importance of injecting, but THIS macro cycle thing is just insane! And those keys combos of controling view, cc, larva, army, workers! Even such details on how to position overlords! Loved every second of this! Thank you for your work!
So I've done about 5-6 videos of Vibes Bronze to Gm. They are wonderful. I learned a lot of mechanics. I recently came here to learn from Pig, now my blade is getting sharper. Camera hotkeys, cutoff point to go attack, cloning, and getting to finally focus on my army!! This is so fun and satisfying. Thank you Pig for all you're doing, this series, and all the casting of high level games. You have really inspired me to play more matchmaking StarCraft 2. Thank you so much! (Silver-Gold guy here) I plan to finish your entire series moving forward.
Dude just this one video being put out has made me consider getting back into starcraft 2. It makes me feel like i can survive the ladder until masters league
If you want a sparring partner. I can goldish with all races and D3 as zerg I haven't tried climbing anymore yet. But something I learned from vibe 1 way to get insanely good is play someone higher than you once a day, or once a week. To watch replays. And have them do replays with you. So I'm happy to help anyone. Gotta keep this game thriving.
Pig, Thank you. I've been consuming a lot of your content and I just want to say THANK YOU so much for sharing your passion with us all. I've learned SO much in such a small period of time watching your videos. I've always liked Starcraft but I've never been 'good' at it (managing 1 base was not only confusing, but WAY too fast / losing to medium bots) and now I'm able to confidently make a roach timing attack or defend something easily that would've killed me before! Your personality, goals, and achievements are greatly appreciated, and I hope to continue to learn from you! :D
I'm in masters and I learned so much lol. learning the basics are gold...(not to be confused with gold league, literally worth its weight in gold...umm knowledge has no weight....ummm, you get it)
I don’t know who said that in chat, but yes this is helping. This is one of the most helpful videos for learning SC2 I’ve EVER seen. And you did say at the beginning that you are only helping those who actually want to learn. Thank you so much for this! You are actually saying every little thing you are doing. I love this ❤️
Bro, I've been playing Starcraft casually off and on for the better part of 30 years. I've learned more watching this video than in those almost 30 years. Thank you!
Thank you for this amazing video I haven't played sc2 since LOTV came out due to friends giving up on the game. Now I decided to give it another try Seeing you talking with so much passion about this game made me want to play it even more. Thank you once again for rekindling an old fire
Just coming across this series and It's getting me back into the game. Usually I just play the campaign every year or so. So far I have trouble with just staying the course. Somewhere towards the end you said something that hits home "This will happen over the course of days and lots of games". Hoping to hunker down and get better. Thanks for this series.
the gameplay settings and hotkeys helped me a lot! especially the camera key locations. I had gotten so used to using F5-F8 and then having to click on the mini map for any hatchery after 4. Thank you!!
So i used to play a bit of starcraft with my dad and it was fun and yesterday i picked it up to start actually playing it and get to ranked, im 30 minutes into the tutorial and i LOVE IT, thanks so mich
Brand new to SC2 and I'm pretty happy with the way you're teaching here. In fact, you say you aren't hand holding, but as someone who has watched pro sc2 for a while but never played I know there are *so many* things you're leaving out. No ling harass, no drone scout, no spore in base, etc. etc. It's really nice to be shown what the most important fundamentals are and then also how to really hammer them down and practice them, and not get distracted by stuff that is secondary to those fundamentals. Thanks for the vid.
I'm a big fan of PiG. I'm a big fan of Vibe's B2GM series. I'm also a big fan of seeing different approaches to teaching. This should be a good series.
Thanks PiG! This video has been very helpful and taught me a lot. I'm several vids into this Zerg BtGM series and the explanations have been clear, pacing is great, tips & insight useful, and very entertaining.
hey man i am new to RTS and this is my first game.... I love how you just explained everything ... super eazy and early understanding of the mechanics...... HUGE THANKS MAN
Pig, love the stream. Thanks for the content! This is a wonderful compliment to Vibe’s B2GM, humbly done to boot! Two different (almost polar opposite) approaches to the game, equally applicable when learning and getting into the game. Just great. A testament to how complex SC2 is. Edit: and how great a teacher you are. :)
I've been waiting for this since his ViBe changed my mind video. This is gonna be so good. I hope he has 7 hr. Diamond video's too. I am so psyched thanks PiG!!!
I just started playing Starcraft a couple weeks ago. Most of the content I've found has been for more advanced players but this has actually been helpful.
super helpful content, star craft 2 is the first RTS i've played so it was intimating, but pig explains things in such an articulate way, and i'm already winning games! the fact he's answered all my questions as a new player is pretty impressive for a tutorial.
The comments around 1:09:45'ish, about not being helpful to a silver/bronze player...completely unwarranted. This series has vastly improved my zerg skills. I am returning from a long break and have never played zerg, I find it extremely helpful. Great Content!!
Thnx so much Wreck! Just started a new Zerg B2GM over on my coaching channel as well incase you're interested: ruclips.net/video/A9m2VsBPPvQ/видео.html
@39:46 "let's get straight on into it". 40 minutes in just starting to explain how to actually play. 10/10 would recommend trying to learn SC2 for the first time in 2022
I liked learning all the mechanics at once. I just grinded our empty customs games for a while. I was really enjoyable. Like learning my keyboard as an instrument. Now I’m here to learn tactics and I am already learning so much.
I love that. "I'm not gonna hold your hand!" Instead you tell us how to do the thing and it's up to us to put the effort in to learn and practice those skills. Exactly how it should be! Awesome ur to gm :)
I love the fact you mention Vibe. He made such amazing B2GM content and he's who taught me the basics of zerg. It's great to see comparisons between macro vs micro for beginners!
59:18 I did laugh at this part because I did have this learning experience the other day playing as Terran my worse race. Roughly 2500 mmr with all 3 but Terran's my worse. Was winning a game. Thought I had numbers. Just pushed into his 3rd with marines medivacs, few other things thinking I could just bully his 4-5 siege tanks... Nope. Eventually won the game but it took a good 15 minutes longer than it should have. Eventually cleared them out with just a couple of liberators but only after loosing tons of Marines. SMH. Work smarter not harder. Anyways, lesson learned. Great video here. thx. On a side note, I went to practice this egg to control group mechanic. Had to rewatch this video to figure it out. Insert mind blown gif here. Simply amazing. Could easily see this helping me break the F2 habit. Thank you much.
This is definitely my favourite Zerg guide I've seen for new players. I played some games and was watching some guides but this is the first time I've I've heard macro cycles explained and heard the term at all (It really makes thing so much easier to have the mindset of having these actions grouped together and makes the rest of the game so much less stressful), having cocoons set to control groups before they hatch (simple but I've never thought of this and no one has mentioned that), these little things are so much, especially together. Also having someone say micro is important instead of just a moving into bases to improve in the low ranks is so reassuring since there was so many time I tried to do the a-move then focus on macro, but the enemy holds me off since their defensive setup was good even though I was getting more resources and had more units.
The amount of theory, techniques and mechanics you can learn from this video feels like you're watching a video that you should be paying for. Thanks a lot for this, PiG
I just started playing starcraft today and this video was quite frankly the most incredible help ever! It took me a few games to get used to the controls and what all the buttons do, but I just did a game where I got my army of 25ish roaches with upgrades at 7 mins and I was super happy with myself ^^ I can feel myself getting better just by practicing the stuff in this video alone, I can't wait to get it down to I can move on to the silver video ^^
Thanks so much for this PiG. I was an avid Zerg player waaay back in Wings of Liberty day. Sadly quit before either of the two expansions came out, so it's crazy to watch castings of games with units that I have never even seen before. Never was crazy good - maybe Gold 2 before I'd start losing and get frustrated. But videos like this are giving me the itch to dust this game off and take it for another spin...
@@PiGstarcraft thank you! I don't remember much from the old days, but I do remember that I used to control group my queens and inject by just clicking on the hatcheries on the minimap rather than jumping the camera to each base and boxing each queen. Is that not a better way to do the macro cycle anymore?
Pig I tried doing the macro steps for the Zerg. My favorite race. I have never really been too good enough to get wins routinely. So I practiced with the AI for a few games and got a good rhythm. I went on the ladder and played 3 games won each one. Probably a fluke but I just followed the macro steps and there you go I was better than ever thanks man.
Dude, this is insanely good. I loved Starcraft but just couldn’t play it properly and overwhelmed by the scale, but after this I’m like 20x better and more confident that I can improve.
Never played a game of starcraft in my life but the game is like command and conquer generals which I did play and sucked at. This video is one of the best videos I've seen about RTS games. Learned a lot
That control-click trick to select all of a specific unit or building... oh my gawd. I was having such trouble with my double-clicking because for some reason I click too fast times and my mouse doesn't accept it as a double-click. Or something. Anyhow--I knew you could use control in the wireframe, but never thought about using it on the screen units. Mind blown.
Glad he explained the smurf and rules how hell level engage lower ranks. But, apparently it goes over peoples head. Soon as they lose every ones yelling they stink. Just weird. Anyway, the B2GM is a solid tutorial & good series the sc2 community is all starting to do. Long as they dont join tournaments I never call anyone smurfing. A gm dumping on a G1 tourny. Now that pisses me off. BTW: Dont think a silver or gold player is the same as it was 3 years ago due to these tutorials. Mostly everyone is maxing out by the 9 to 10 min mark. Yup all auto attack but if your behind you're done. :) Enjoy Kay
I just started playing SC2 yesterday, I played a few games like 2 years ago, but I had no idea what the units and buildings were. My background in StarCraft is in The original and a little bit in Brood War. I was mostly a Fastest Map Possible player. I'm 38 years old now, and I'm no where near as fast as I used to be, but I was surprised with how many habits I still have with scouting, droning, and army production. I'm still trying to get the build order memorized, and the timing of everything.(I'm slow as heck, also I tend to forget to inject.) I'm only about 15 games of practice in, but following your macro guide at least got me a few wins. I plan on staying the path you've laid out, and I'll continue developing good habits.
I got into SC2 thanks to you and Lowko, casting really shows how fun this Can be. I was always like uhh i dont wanna learn what units counter what and micro and blablabla. I have yet to play a real game online but ive been doing Ai battles up to Elite (as terran). I could barely beat Hard ai when i first tried it out but, as you say, keep building, saturate your bases, have a tight macro schedule and Then you can worry about what counters what, strategies etc. Never played zerg once but you made it look so nice and easy so i tried it out vs harder ai, it went well. I dunno who the fuck complained about coppers cant learn this, just Knowing how to rally your workers back fast after an attack, build>set location>build, makes it So much more beginner friendly than i ever thought this game could be. I was really scared of the queen macro, but i bound space to select between home bases (i know its not as good as camera locations but eh) and it works like a charm, very good tips and tricks all in all, keep it up.
I'm a mid-plat Zerg and I've learned a good bit from this video alone. While I think this would've tough for me to do while I was in bronze, I'm glad there is a diversity in educational content for new players. One thing I say sometimes is there's no wrong way to play StarCraft, and I love seeing the difference in philosophy between you and ViBE being fleshed out in your b2gm series
Really useful content and I couldn't agree more that as long as you're not weaponizing your incompetence, you can pick up the basics and begin working in these fundamental practices 👏
I have been playing starcraft since the original in 1998. I am a high tier Diamond player and I still have learned a LOT from this Bronze video. I wish I had learned a lot of these lessons earlier because then I could have been in Master Tier.
I really like that Pig took the b2gm idea in a different direction than vibe. The idea of training people to start with 2 base timings is interesting because it keeps the economy and army size small enough to be manageable.
In Vibe's 2nd B2GM I believe he did similar. It's definitely good to try and not go TOO deep down the macro tunnel to where you can't control all your things and are just constantly overwhelmed and never watching fights to learn unit interactions
Back when I was bronze I actually loved being smurfed on.. It gave me a very interesting replay to analyse, and the few times it was a master+ player i watched in awe as they spread their creep and managed their build/bases, or even did wacky things like winning with nothing but queens. it also hooked me up wtih a lot of free coaching sessions and chance to talk with high level players. That's one of the bewautiful things about starcraft, a long standing community that is willing to stick together and help one another improve.
I've watched PiG for so many years now, always putting out amazing Sc2 content, IMO the best Sc2 content creator out there. If I want to learn more starcraft, I know where to go, and if someone ask about learning Sc, I send them his way.
M8... Im playing starcraft more then 10 yers ( ye so 2 times a day with few weeks pause here and there). I started playing SC1 in 1997/8 I was allready Diamond 1 few yers a go. But MAN! This Macro circle and adding eggs to control group MAKE MY DAY! I left SC2 becouse of Smerfs in plat (low gm in plat is not what make fun for a plat/ low diamond player) And now im about 3k mmr and there are some hight Diamond/ low master players in bronze/3k. BUT! U give me a hope. I just started learning all stuff u show Macro circle/ making drons/overlords... and stuff like that. And i dont care if there is a low master in my game. I just go to the next game and doing my best with Macro Circle and stuff u showed me. Thx. U make this game nice again for me.
Hey! Great video. A friend and I have always played starcraft as our fallback game, like two old farts playing chess, we've been playing for over 22 years. Generally, he wins about 70% of the time, and we generally only play each other so, there are some bad habits we've picked up since we play each other mostly. He is a bit more try-hard than I am, and pretty competitive which makes 2v2 hard since we both walk away with the feeling that he is carrying the wins, and I'm causing the losses. We don't solo ladder often but when we do I usually place mid gold to low plat, with him placing mid to high plat. Made it about halfway through this video, which I know is for bronze, but already had some good takeaways to practice for the next couple of weeks. Played him today already after a couple days of practice and feeling way more stable in the game. Better win ratios already. Can't wait to keep watching through the series, thanks for making it!
Haven't played starcraft for 7 years, and have never played as zerg in my life. Watched dreamhack last weekend because i randomly stumbled upon it and now this video pops up in the feed. Downloading the game.
Not to purposefully bring up another good SC player in your video but you have the same mentality as day9 when it comes to being nervous and playing SC ladder for the first time. The whole learning guitar analogy is perfect. Bring constructive and relatable is great. Love it and you!
I appreciate you putting this out there. I've been playing Starcraft since the first one came out, but never really got into multiplayer. I think I got just about everything you were saying, but setting rally points is still really unclear. You explained why you did them, but not HOW you did them. I know how to select a hatchery and then right click on a resource to get the drones to continually go there, but then what did you do to select the army rally point from multiple hatcheries to the same place (white lines)? How did you combine them? And most importantly, how did you set the rally points for multiple resource locations so the drones automatically change locations based on resource level? I still have to micro-manage that in my games and it's annoying. As I said, I understand the why...I just didn't year you explain how. Again, thanks for dragging us noobs into the fray. Still love this game after all these years.
Hey, just getting back into Starcraft 2 again after a very long time. Love RTS games and really want to get back in to it. Great video on how to get back in to it. Got a sub :)
Dude.. I was a master Z years back and I clicked on this out of curiosity.. I cannot believe I spent all that time not knowing that I could ctrl out the larva before adding the eggs to my army. I would get drones in my army late game every once and a while and it drove me crazy! This blew my mind a little haha
Just watched this, applied the basic tips with control locations, injects every 30 secs, build order, and won 5 games in a row. Sure, I'm in the low leagues, but it's effective!!!
Thanks for the small tips. To put my workers back in the gas, I used to just highlight like 7-8 drones and hit control to deselect the 4-5 workers of the 7-8 until I have 3 workers left. And then use those 3 workers to go into gas. This makes more much sense.
I've owned SC2 since 2010 and have been watching tournaments on and off since I think 2012, but I have only ever played a handful of multiplayer games myself. I've been getting back into it recently, playing a few AI games, and I learned a tremendous amount from this. Looking forward to more. ` is a grave accent if you're a linguist, and a backtick if you're a programmer. Not sure about progamer though 🤔
1:15:45 you touch on this, but I am still a bit (very) curious about it. Why (if you are going ranged) can you not just get a roach warren right after pool instead of ling speed? Is there anything that strictly requires fast lings? Is it more to not waste any lings you may need to make early? Even if you get rushed it seems like pros often like using roaches to defend (i think largely do to the larva efficiency a lot of the time). I have heard that drops are harder to catch, but lings are not exactly great at fighting drops at times too when the enemy hide between minerals for example. I was just wondering what exactly is the reason that EVERYONE gets ling speed, because it is a lot of money so early and if you dont NEED it with roaches, it would be nice to skip. I dont want to blindly skip it though because even if I get away with it at low level a higher level opponent may show me why I needed it lol.
off the top of my head, lings are a counter to Armored damage, like immortal also lings for counter attack and scouting. not much is faster than a speedling
I started SC2 yesterday and couldn’t for the life of me beat the AI on medium difficulty (this is my first RTS) let alone a real player. I found this video and practiced for a few hours and now I’m almost ranked up to very hard. I still lose to human players in unranked, but at least I have somewhat of an army to fight back instead of being forced to use drones haha. Thanks bro!
Wow I just started too, the last RTS game (and PC game in general) was Warcraft 3. I also struggled through medium and very hard but made it to elite and was comfortable enough to start playing against human players. I made the mistake of jumping on ladder right away though I recommend unranked to avoid taking L’s while you’re learning and mostly avoiding smurfy matches.
I've been playing for... maybe 6 years at this point, used to watch you and Lowko religiously a few years back. Despite that, never got past Gold, since I was a really young kid. Hope i can finally get up to par for my time in game, been pkaying Zerg for years. Just look at my pfp lol. Thanks!
5 years later he still puts out beginner friendly content. big ups.
I just came back after 3 yrs so this is perfect

I have been watching SC2 for AGES, but am just about to start laddering, and this was perfect. TY
Perfect timing, I'm a returning low plat Zerg who just got back into playing after 7 years!
This is exactly my current situation as well! Played Brood War rather competitively for 6-10+ years and played Wol beta a fair bit, but never ladders much until a couple months ago I started playing again. Getting used to the amputated half-index finger too lol
@@DeliriumSC Wol stands for wings of liberty
Do it!
@@mattstoss1423 i'm definitely interested matt :)

Like it very much that another highest level Player make a Series like this. Maybe we can get some New People into the Community
I'm in masters and I learned so much lol. learning the basics are gold...(not to be confused with gold league, literally worth its weight in gold...umm knowledge has no weight....ummm, you get it)
Reminds me of Harstem casting. "The workers on gold are worth their weight in gold...because...that's what they're mining..."
I don’t know who said that in chat, but yes this is helping. This is one of the most helpful videos for learning SC2 I’ve EVER seen.
And you did say at the beginning that you are only helping those who actually want to learn. Thank you so much for this! You are actually saying every little thing you are doing. I love this ❤️
Love your educational content PiG, I'd love a Terran Bronze to GM if you/the community enjoys this one.
Yes please!!! I want to get back in the game and I really like PiGs teaching style
Bro, I've been playing Starcraft casually off and on for the better part of 30 years. I've learned more watching this video than in those almost 30 years. Thank you!
A looooong time fan of sc? Hell yeah! If you're interested in Terran or Protoss I have those on my other channel: ruclips.net/user/PiGRandom
Thank you for this amazing video
I haven't played sc2 since LOTV came out due to friends giving up on the game.
Now I decided to give it another try
Seeing you talking with so much passion about this game made me want to play it even more.

@24:55 you can centre the hatch before it finishes by clicking on the unit portrait next to the command card
Honestly seeing how that control-group scouting and worker relocation mechanics worked was awesome 👌
the gameplay settings and hotkeys helped me a lot! especially the camera key locations.
Thanks for the vid.
exactly bro, i feel the same
I'm a big fan of PiG.
Love that you're doing this. Learning this game is so hard but having more content to learn from is amazing!
super helpful content, star craft 2 is the first RTS i've played so it was intimating, but pig explains things in such an articulate way, and i'm already winning games! the fact he's answered all my questions as a new player is pretty impressive for a tutorial.
The moaning cry from 1:25:26 is hilarious :D
Lot of good stuff to learn thanks master !
I've been playing poorly for years. This is a wonderful deep dive into getting better. I'm actually excited. Thanks PiG!
For a player like me, that have played for 2 weeks. This was a PERFECT video for good tips and some new insights. Thanks a lot from sweden!
Wow this is going to be quite different from vibe. I'm really curious to see this series.
Vibe seems like he's just annoyed with the whole endeavor now. I like this energy way more.
Thank you so much
The amount of theory, techniques and mechanics you can learn from this video feels like you're watching a video that you should be paying for. Thanks a lot for this, PiG
I just started playing starcraft today and this video was quite frankly the most incredible help ever!
It took me a few games to get used to the controls and what all the buttons do, but I just did a game where I got my army of 25ish roaches with upgrades at 7 mins and I was super happy with myself ^^
I can feel myself getting better just by practicing the stuff in this video alone, I can't wait to get it down to I can move on to the silver video ^^
But videos like this are giving me the itch to dust this game off and take it for another spin...
welcome back mate!
@@PiGstarcraft thank you! I don't remember much from the old days, but I do remember that I used to control group my queens and inject by just clicking on the hatcheries on the minimap rather than jumping the camera to each base and boxing each queen. Is that not a better way to do the macro cycle anymore?
I started playing StarCraft about a week ago from literally never playing an rts before and this is by far the best video on the basics I've seen
Thanks man! Never hurts to have someone with 9.5/10 knowledge re-teach the basics especially in SC.
1:10:31 - LOL so on point. Ignore the haters PiG, you're doing great work.
I really loved the tips regarding worker management and making control groups with eggs. Those are going to make my life way easier! Thank you!
It is worth noting that you can inject multiple times and queue the larva up.
this has honestly been helping me a lot, thank you! looking forward to the rest of the series
This series of videos is an absolute gold mine. Thank you so much! i've gotten so much better with zerg because of your videos!
Thank you for this great resource, it's incredibly useful and makes getting back into Starcraft MUCH less daunting of a task
Pig I tried doing the macro steps for the Zerg. My favorite race. I have never really been too good enough to get wins routinely. So I practiced with the AI for a few games and got a good rhythm. I went on the ladder and played 3 games won each one. Probably a fluke but I just followed the macro steps and there you go I was better than ever thanks man.
macro wins games in lower leagues, they cant macro well.
Enjoy
Kay
Thank you so much for making this video. It shows how much you care about the new players.
I'm REALLY enjoying this video and your overall approach! Thanks so much for putting this out.
This just blew my mind in how to do things efficiently. Thanks so much for the info dude. It's awesome
51:51 that's freaking good D:
i think i found what i was missing!
great content, thanks a lot for sharing
I'm a mid-plat Zerg and I've learned a good bit from this video alone. While I think this would've tough for me to do while I was in bronze, I'm glad there is a diversity in educational content for new players. One thing I say sometimes is there's no wrong way to play StarCraft, and I love seeing the difference in philosophy between you and ViBE being fleshed out in your b2gm series
Really useful content and I couldn't agree more that as long as you're not weaponizing your incompetence, you can pick up the basics and begin working in these fundamental practices 👏
So helpful, thank you for taking the time to do this
I have been playing starcraft since the original in 1998.
Better and greater content than 90% of RUclips StarCraft creator's.
Thank You sir for Your good job.
Whoever said this isn’t helping was crazy… this 1000% helped me
Not to purposefully bring up another good SC player in your video but you have the same mentality as day9 when it comes to being nervous and playing SC ladder for the first time. The whole learning guitar analogy is perfect. Bring constructive and relatable is great. Love it and you!
Comparing me with day9 is a pretty amazing compliment dude! Cheers!
Omg, the alt key. I actually forgot about the alt key. Thank you Mr. Pig for all you do and all you've done.
1:10:25 This was super helpful. Thank you. I'm borderline brone (currently silver) and this whole video is a game changer for me)
I appreciate you putting this out there.
PiG Chapter Title: "Don't be a select all hotkey noob!"
Me: *looks for tall building*
Just watched this, applied the basic tips with control locations, injects every 30 secs, build order, and won 5 games in a row. Sure, I'm in the low leagues, but it's effective!!!
I never thought I'd see Tom Cruise teaching zerg mechanics 🤣 I've learnt a lot with this video, thank you so much
I just wanted to say that I just got my first ladder win with this strategy. Dude got rolled by my roach army. Thanks PiG!
Glad to see content like this. It reminds me of the old Day9 days.
I agree with Richard Hill. It gives map control, by getting to places faster.
Thanks bro!
Welcome to Starcraft! :)
Thanks!
