Amazing, thank you so much for this! I've started playing SC2 a week ago, and your content was a huge help to not get overwhelmed and know what to focus on. Used the 2021 version at first, but switched after trying the new one - I feel that it's much easier for me to get value from early tanks than early marines/marauders, as the tanks are a huge help in defense, as I can just set them up and focus on other things. Extra tip for anyone just starting out: Simplify this even more for now. I stopped bothering with scouting via the SCV/Viking, as more often than not it prevented me from doing more important stuff. Few times I've moved out with the full army, only to realise than I forgot to research the Stimpack... Also been building 2 ebays at once, 3rd and 4th gas at once, and set up only 4 camera locations: 1st base, 2nd base, rally point, and production (trying to fit all my production buildings in one screen, so I can see visually what's researching/being recruited and what's not)
fair call! Simplifying any guide like to just focus on whats most important to really nail down and build that muscle memory is a great choice. Already got the right mentality to progress far in this game, gl hf mate

I use SHIFT + F1, 2, 3... for creating Camera Hotkeys as SHIFT + F1, 2, 3,... is easier to press then CTRL + F1, 2, 3... and SHIFT + F1, 2, 3,... is not used anyway. I use F for landing and lifting building as F is not used at all in buildings.
I like how you practice what you preach about not getting upset about losing. You lose a handful of early games cos you're too slow and just shrug it off, learn from your mistakes and keep going.
Custom Grid is the way to go for learning. I basically did grid for building and unit production, q w e for spellcasters and single spell units (bile, stim, ect.) is on spacebar and it feels so easy.
Great Job, I just got back into SC2 from back in the WOL days. This is a great starter build order and commentary. Glad to see the community is still going strong
I recently hurt my left hand and I got back into star craft because it is technically possible to play with 1 hand. I have to click the buttons on the screen to do things do you have any suggestions for good settings that might help?
A lot of people with only one hand they can use to play like to use a foot-pedal and program some buttons onto it so it can help them with the most common commands
@@PiGCoaching OK. That sounds like it would be hard to learn, but I will try it. It won't be the first time I have tried to used my feet to play a video game.
This game is super fun till you get to high gold and low plat. Then all you play is diamond and most just cheese / rush. Then it’s game over. So many diff strats and only so much scouting can do. I enjoyed playing it again now it’s just painful lol 😂
I started playing SC2 ladder very recently. I used your Terran BtoGM as a template (3rax build), and I did will until the gold league. I have been getting decimated by Terran (mass planetary fortress + mass marine). So I am looking forward to watch this series. Thank you in advance!
@@kennyfarmi9878 By the 7 minutes mark when I am supposed to attack with my 2 medivacs and bunch of marines, he already has 5 bases (I am still on 2). Simply put, I suck lol. I need to improve my macro cycles, and I need to scout and be more flexible (change build orders based on that)
@@BlizzarDofBabyloN usually who play plantetry are turtle, the thing u need to pay attention is delay his new bases and keep expand, im suck too but that is how i deal with those guys, hope this helpful cause i was at high plat 1 and low diamond 3, at this level doesnt have many turtle (still have, but not many)
I'm agree with kenny. BC can break the siege. Many times I'm stuck with turtle terran. You can and need to take more than 2 bases to produce mass BC. And think about upgrades them. The thing you don't need to worry a lot against turtle is that it's more easy to expand as they don't push you a lot. It will come with time. At the start I had issue with that too. For the next of your training, think about going third base. The next video will certainly talk about this. I go rarely more than 3base and I'm Diamond 3.
I remember how I made a deal with a friend that I'll make it to Master in Starcraft and I absolutely drilled 1 Maru's 2 base all-in build against AI in 1 month (500 games vs AI xD) and then I hopped onto ladder with an idea "if I get any real pressure before minute 6 which I turbo drilled and played second-perfect just like Maru did - I just quit and go next". I went straight to Master in one day. People were absolutely unprepped that some's gonna play second-perfect all-in copied from Maru for 6 minutes. The funny thing I had no idea what I'm doing and why and I had 0 micro and 0 idea what to do after, if A-click won't work. But somehow it worked 🤣
I first fell in love with the game and part of the community when I discovered your channel a year ago with the Terran B2GM series. I'm eager to see the new build recommendations in this series 😃
I've been wanting to try this out in the ranked ladder and see if i can improve, and the build is fun, however the match quality isn't. One game I'll fight against someone with 2x my APM and diamond rank on his profile, then the next I get a bronze player who doesn't know what upgrades are. Then I get 2 instant leavers that ff right after the countdown, then i get ONE fair match. After that it's another platinum player - way above my skill level. Is the Starcraft ladder dead? What am i doing wrong!? I am already out of my placement games (about 20 games in), the only thing that has been consistent is the inconsistency of the matchmaker. I feel like no other game has this in their ranked queue, even other RTS like AoE2 seem to get it right.
Great video thank you. I use a Logitech Tartarus V2 gamepad/board..what do you think of this? Is there limitations in using this tool that you can share?
I didnt know that new players start from platinum league. That was a huge surprise for me. I thought I'm below bronze since everyone I've plyed with had 100+ apm and huge army that crushed my base in 10 minutes or so.
27:32 I never used camera hotkeys, because I just cant reach the f keys easily enough, and especially when setting them I just dont even get what I am supposed to do with my hand to reach everything. Because of that I just never bothered (I use drag scroll with the thumb button on my mouse and can still get around pretty well I feel), but watching this part of the video it occurred to me that I could fix at least the setting the cam location part by setting f1-f4 not by "control + f1-f4", but by using f5-f8 by themselves to set f1-f4. There is no way I would be using f5-f8 anyway since I cant reach them well, and that way I can at least set the locations up in a sane way. I may have to try that. The best I had before was using shift + f key to set them, but that was not a ton better.
23:35 Lift is on V and scan is on C, so yes it can be a problem lol. Quite the embarrassing way to lose a game. I got used to it over time and dont really miss click it now, but yeah it is in a bad spot.
i replayed sc2 campaign after a couple of my coworkers talked about it. i'm a total beginner with 1v1 vs humans. i recently played with one coworker who was regular in broodwar and also recently started sc2. he steamrolled me and he won 6-0 (maybe more). lol but it wasn't a bad feeling, it's a mix of frustration and excitement! we've played a dozen or more games now. i'm always prepared to lose but little by little i'm holding my coworker back. i'm watching your B2GM series to have a solid build order, transition and habits.
Hello! I finished your old Zerg Bronze to GM videos recently and thought I'd try some Terran. Ive noticed the control groups are different than the Zerg ones. Do you normally use different control groups for different races? Im mostly refering to the basic ones like bases and army. Keep up the good work!
Yeah my Protoss and Terran are both pretty much the same as each other. Since Zerg only uses one production structure I put that on one of the easiest to reach keys. However for Protoss and Terran I decided to use a slightly different set up. It's really whatever you prefer and makes sense for you though! Just make sure you have a few easy to reach army groups and your production + base keys feel comfortable to be in constant use
Thanks for b2gm series, great! Why you do macro cycle - workers -> army -> supply and not workers -> supply -> army? I spend money on army and have no minerals left for depots. I rearranged macro cycle and it seems to be working, but what's the reason behind doing it your way?
I just prefer it this way to have unit production as the priority, you can do it the other way around no problem. The important thing is to stick to a set cycle so the muscle memory settles in
Hey Pig! I love your b2gm videos! They have helped a lot. I notice that because it’s StarCraft you frequently get sidetracked from the build to either hold weird pushes or respond to your opponent etc. I was wondering if you could release a short build order vid where you hit the major points of the build without an opponent. I like having the example of “there’s never a clean game” but I think it would be helpful for when I get knocked off my build what I should be trying to approximate. If that makes sense. Love you man- you are a great coach.
Good idea, I'll see if I can get to that. In the meantime make sure you start to memorise the order of the build using the notes in the description. As long as you remember the order of things, one after the other, you'll always be able to get back on track after distractions
Coming to this in 2024. I played placement matches just now and landed in bronze. My past peak was diamond. It will be a fun climb back watching your lessons
Progress update. Blazing through, up to platinum after 140 games (under 30 per day lol). Funny thing is I did not use watch any of the silver gold or plat episodes yet but read the responses in the doc TvT is great with this style. If they expand I love it, if they rush BC I love it also it TvP is 50-50, I miss some more marauders and mines. When they double forge I basically lose TvZ is good. As long as they don't go crazy econ rush to 4 base, anything else is beatable
ok greate vid but im still confused about something. If you have a factor and starport in one control group how, with just keybinds, do you make more units. Because I have to manually click on each factory and starport for it to pull up the option to make more units for that building.
TAB scrolls between buildings by default, I have the side mouse buttons set to tab forwards and backwards so I just press the button on the side of my mouse to swap between the two
I'm diamond 3 and still learn for bronze advice. Sometimes I miss some basic. I came back to the game last week. And I enjoy that you make recent teaching. It lack advice for 2023 meta. Hope you continue this series. I want to know how I can progress to go master.
High DPI doesn't mean skipping pixels, that is when you have a mismatch of CPI and DPI, basically having a mouse that says it has a bazillion DPI but their sensor can't keep up. 3200 is pretty basic for most mid end sensors
What's more important is just how much movement you need to move the cursor. More movement is actually better because you have more control moving your whole forearm along with your wrist and not just flicking your wrist around. Also leads to way less injuries and RSI the longer you play. Most pros use about 800 DPI and middling sensitivity in windows/SC
@@PiGCoaching heavily depends on your grip type and overall position but yeah lower sensitivity is usually better. That being said higher DPI is better (to a point), higher DPI is more precise and you can just lower sensitivity to keep the same overall sensitivity with better tracking. But most Pro players are playing for over a decade at this point, any change is extremely hard, you'll see newer games have a change from the low 400~800 DPI range to be more like 800~1600. This is simply because back when those older pros started playing 400~800 dpi was all they had available.
This is such a great video! As a Zerg Player, who is struggleing with his Terran play, this is a great guideline to get started. Very good explanation right from the beginning, with focus on macro play. Thank you so much 😁👍. I even consider playing ladder games again.
I'm a new player coming from playing League of Legends for 13 years and tbh it was like my brain couldn't comprehend what I was watching or something but then you said the magic words "Macro cycle". After that it all just clicked, this is the kind of content this game needs for new players fair play my guy I appreciate you ^^
Hello, can someone answer me pls. I've started SC2 about a week ago. After finished Terran campaign, I wanted to try pvp. The game tell me to play 5 matches to unlock ranked mode. When I was playing those games, I won the first game, lost the second but for the last three games, my opponent just instant surrendered as soon as the match start and I got free win. Because of those wins, I was placed in gold league. From there on, I was losing so many games straight. I couldn't do anything. My opponents were so much better than be. I want to know if there anything I can do to lower my rank or something.
You won't get mid season demoted but don't worry, your league doesn't matter only your MMR does. And it adjusts very quickly in your first 25 games on ladder. So every game you lose you will be playing much worse players. Check your profile in game to see your MMR and compare it to this page to see what league that puts you in: burnysc2.github.io/MMR-Ranges/
Camera locations is low key one of the best improvements to my ability level I’ve gleaned from all these videos. I think not using them is basically a handicap. Especially on Zerg.
I'm following this guide, Pig, playing a little bit as I watch (as well as making all those settings adjustments), and I already feel like a better and more confident player! Look forward to finishing the series (as well as the ones for the other races) (even though it might take me a while)! Thanks a bunch!
Hi PiG, thank you for these new 2003 bronze to GM series. I see you use here a different build then in the older series. Is the new one better, or are they equally good? Best regards

F is way better than the default L so that's awesome, love the shift customisation too :)
Looking forward to the Protoss Series :) Great coaching ^_^
on the way in a few months when this one is done :)
I like how you practice what you preach about not getting upset about losing.
You lose a handful of early games cos you're too slow and just shrug it off, learn from your mistakes and keep going.
These videos are helping me discover this game, so many years after release. I cannot get enough of it, and the scene behind it is amazing!
Thanks for this! Maybe 10 years of playing protoss is enough. I welcome myself to the Terran dominion.
¡Gracias!
thank you so much marco!
Thank you in advance!
planetry and marine? tanks, air unit (BC, banshee), wm, nuke, i hope this works
@@kennyfarmi9878 By the 7 minutes mark when I am supposed to attack with my 2 medivacs and bunch of marines, he already has 5 bases (I am still on 2).
Simply put, I suck lol. I need to improve my macro cycles, and I need to scout and be more flexible (change build orders based on that)
@@BlizzarDofBabyloN usually who play plantetry are turtle, the thing u need to pay attention is delay his new bases and keep expand, im suck too but that is how i deal with those guys, hope this helpful cause i was at high plat 1 and low diamond 3, at this level doesnt have many turtle (still have, but not many)
@@kennyfarmi9878 Thank you for the advice! I will keep that in mind!
2023 and Starcraft still ROCKS! Thx Pig for posting such nice turtorial vidoe!!!!!
I first fell in love with the game and part of the community when I discovered your channel a year ago with the Terran B2GM series. I'm eager to see the new build recommendations in this series 😃
anyone else here after 2024 is almost done having learned starcraft is a game. im a freaking decade late.... feels bad man. ima be the new clem
And the BO on the left all the time - nice nice nice :)
New B2GM with the new patch? 🤣
Jk obviously, loving the look of the 1/1/1 going to have another go at returning to StarCraft
i just came back after 8-9 years and even tho i played diamond level once , you guides are a great help to get back into this great game :)
Wait...we two basing now? What happened to sc2 that we're not pushing macro anymore?
23:35 Lift is on V and scan is on C, so yes it can be a problem lol. Quite the embarrassing way to lose a game. I got used to it over time and dont really miss click it now, but yeah it is in a bad spot.
Finally, someone that made it simple to understand. Going to try it out. Thanks pig coaching!
0950. Game 2. The opponent SCV scout is still there. 🤣 Now THAT is confidence.
Let me ask you a stupid question, how do you put the decal on the shoulder of the units?
Dude just kinda talked shit about new players while still losing almost every game.
1:27:30 that archon just jumped xD
WTF lol that's awesome
i replayed sc2 campaign after a couple of my coworkers talked about it.
i'm a total beginner with 1v1 vs humans.
i recently played with one coworker who was regular in broodwar and also recently started sc2.
he steamrolled me and he won 6-0 (maybe more). lol
but it wasn't a bad feeling, it's a mix of frustration and excitement! we've played a dozen or more games now.
i'm always prepared to lose but little by little i'm holding my coworker back.
i'm watching your B2GM series to have a solid build order, transition and habits.
beating a broodwar veteran will be tough, but with practice you'll get there! GL mate
Funny thing is I did not use watch any of the silver gold or plat episodes yet but read the responses in the doc
TvT is great with this style. If they expand I love it, if they rush BC I love it also it
TvP is 50-50, I miss some more marauders and mines. When they double forge I basically lose
TvZ is good. As long as they don't go crazy econ rush to 4 base, anything else is beatable
This is great 👍. My apm is not good but this helps a lot!
Been following your last terran B2GM the last couple weeks so this is awesome to see the series getting an update!!! Cant wait for more
ok greate vid but im still confused about something.
I want to know how I can progress to go master.
thanks, keep up hard work on the ladder mate!
After I watched your old Terran to GM playlist. I found out that you did a new one 😂😂 still love your work you are funny and informativ❤
haha thnx mate!
This is simply because back when those older pros started playing 400~800 dpi was all they had available.
everytime you mock the newb, I feel like you're directly mimicking how I play SC2
we all starts somewhere :D
This is such a great video! As a Zerg Player, who is struggleing with his Terran play, this is a great guideline to get started. Very good explanation right from the beginning, with focus on macro play. Thank you so much 😁👍. I even consider playing ladder games again.
I'm a new player coming from playing League of Legends for 13 years and tbh it was like my brain couldn't comprehend what I was watching or something but then you said the magic words "Macro cycle". After that it all just clicked, this is the kind of content this game needs for new players fair play my guy I appreciate you ^^
Im new and the shift right click is a huge help
What server do these games are played on?
thanks for the work and community support!
These are all played vs volunteers from NA and EU Ladder
Thanks PiG. I got my first win again today. And I'm getting more comfortable with enemy harassing me the whole time xD.

You actually managed to improve your last Terran B2GM series. Great work! If I watch the next video, I'll probably start playing again.
1040. The SCV scout LEAVES!!!! HAHAAHAHAHAHAA
Just different styles to give more options to players learning the game! Both are super solid
@@PiGCoaching all right, thanks!
You are a bad bad person for smurfing. It's becoming a habit 🤣
This is ethically sourced smurfing! :P they're all volunteers
Hey PiG, thanks so much for doing this series. The last starcraft I played was Brood War and that was in 2011, your vids have helped me get up to speed since I'm wayy behind.
Insta-like!!!! Thank you for your priceless efforts in making such videos!!!!
Thanks for the series, it helps a lot! Looking forward to the Protoss one!
cheers mate
Hey, Pig!
I've been watching some videos of yours and I'm really improving. I know there's still a long road to go, but... I'm happy with my progression.
I'd like to say THANK YOU very much.
Your content is so clean and easy to understand. You're a great coach/teacher.
Hugs from Brazil!
Thanks Kyuura! Glad to hear you're enjoying the game
Now do a challenge modifier: maintain 1 Turret Per Minute. Then, increase the TPM.
So glad I found this channel, you’re an incredible coach. Not only did you gradually introduce fundamentals for beginners but there were so many little tricks and tips thrown in throughout that has really helped in elevating my play
