Glad you made this video. I asked on Etsy forums awhile back if it’s something people actually get caught for because I see tons of clay Disney figures and these people make tons of sales on. Then there’s me who does original characters that I come up with and no sales. It seems unfair and disheartening.
What do you think is not working? Do you have a strategy in place?

I also once ordered a shirt that had a tagline from a popular show and I ordered it and without telling me the shop just sent it to me with a different design and said sorry. We had infringement and I tried to get my money back from them. They never gave me my money back
That sounds really disappointing. Did you get it sorted out with Etsy's support?

Very useful info Dylan. Thank you. is there a way to find out from Etsy why you got suspended if you got suspended? My experience has been that they just pass the buck to the algorithm and you have to just guess
If you get suspended from Etsy, you can just contact Etsy Support directly for more information. May I ask how's your shop doing?
I see this everywhere on Etsy. Shops with over 40,000 sales and still sell Disney! I am licensed with Boy Scouts and I see even Boy Scouts items infringing. You have to pay royalties if you are a licensed seller - it's no cheap to get licensed. You must obey copyright and infringement laws people.

I was thinking about selling Animal Crossing hand-sculpted clay figures on Etsy but I’m not sure if this would still be a violation?
Not at all! Everything is handmade.
What about selling OCs products? Like if I made an original character from lets say Star Trek could I make a shirt with them on it and sell it?
Most large brands being copyrighted and not able to use.
I also had the same thing happen to me a few months back. I used to sell bingo boards from different countries, but when I created one based on Cuba, Etsy took it down. If it can apply to Cuba then North Korea and other heavy communist countries are out of the question.
I totally get how frustrating that must have been. Have you thought about getting some outside help?
@@dylanjahraus no. That shop is long gone. Right now I have shifted my attention towards endangered animals and this is something that people are more interested in buying
That got me confused, the endangered animals and people interested in buying them. On the other hand, are you open to creating a new shop? We could coach you on that if you are!
