- It's time for the T.Rex crew to assemble a new Shopbot CNC Router! These things are pretty easy and quick to build, and offer a whole lot of manufacturing capacity and consistency to our products.
It can be hard to know how to grow your company in uncertain times, but powerful multi-purpose tools are always useful for building a stronger future.
So in summary, "It appears to run on some form of electricity."
@@stevenrith2386 you obviously didn't get the reference then. Don't be an ass
Haha that look on Isaac's face after the electrician came.
It's the same look a lot of people at gun shops give you after they tell you it's not a stock it's a pistol brace.
As a mechanical engineering student with some exposure to CNC machines, this was dope to see.
Dude I know I'm a machinist but haven't done anything when it comes to machine set up and this was absolutely phenomenal to watch
I clicked on this faster then Lucas can reload. That’s fast..... really fast
BEEP
everyone clicks video
P4UL L4PU4 Are you ok?
I too hired a completely real and actual electrician to move an outlet in my house last month and made sure the city approved...
Dan ah yes, as every responsible property owner does......
I genuinely enjoy this type of content along with the normal. It showcases the ingenuity of growing as your base of customers do.
I have used that same exact electrician on many projects. You cannot beat his prices. He is also my gunsmith, mechanic, and barber.
And the nice thing is that he never tells you that you did it wrong
"completely real actual electrician"
I have my doubts
I like this brother better. hes smarter, calmer and reserved.
Absolutely loved this. I just purchased my first cnc (HAAS VF3) and have been working my ass off to build my own business. We will pull ourselves out of this mess
I have an affinity for these guys and this shop. I worked in a very similar environment at Royalty Core truck grilles and headache racks. Lucas even reminds me of the old owner I worked with for 5 years. These guys are very intelligent and energetic I like their vibe a lot. Especially since I have branched out and started my own business 2 1/2 yrs ago. Luckily I made a business model that wasn't effected negatively by the virus but actually sold more and had more revenue like T-Rex has had during this time. Good work guys.
“Move it one thirty second.” Well....T-Rex Arms doesnt claim to be machinists lol
I would say a mix between fabricators and machinists that get the job done. If you have enough common sense and drive you can do anything no matter your background.
Im not going yo lie, i like Lucas’ videos, but his brothers videos are pretty cool and unique
Just picked up a sidecar for my G19. Awesome.
I'll never stop using miles, feet, and Fahrenheit day to day, but precision at the 1/32nd of an inch level is one of the few places where the metric system is way better than imperial.
hoorayimhelping Decimal inch works well
I agree... But decimal inches are good too. I should ask Shopbot to include a more precise tape measure with the kit.
Honestly theese are my favourite videos. You guys showing off what u do in the shop. And isaac being a fucking smart dude
Love vids like this. My day job is operating and programming CNC Laser cutters for flat steel. I learned a lot about the precision of the install process (especially leveling and squaring) when I helped out our last install in August. Gives new appreciation for the setup. Cable management is something I'm OCD about, and in my world makes a huge difference with a moving bridge/gantry system. Good stuff guys!
Love the technical background videos
The machinist part inside of me cringes when I see people making "precise measurements" with a tape measure. Lol
Yes, I know. I should have taped three yardsticks together, or sharpied some lines on a bit of string.
@@isaacbotkintrexI was more so thinking super gluing a bunch of 9x19mm rounds end to end as a measuring stick, since bullets are so exacting in dimensions. Lol I'm just giving you a hard time. I just have a stroke of OCD in me that loves to make things with impractical and unnecessary levels of precision. Lol I like playing with micrometers and calipers and such. Great video! Love what you guys are doing!
Kyle Duddleston me to lol it also makes me cringe when they buy a cheap CNC
Where is your precision level!?! I hAVe a TaPe mEasUre.
What else would you use for such a long dimension? The best way I have found is to just "burn an inch" (you measure at the 1 inch instead of the end) on the tape measure and use the same side of the tape for both measurements.
Good ‘ol shop bot, takes me back. Cool to see a familiar system in such a legit shop!
Good call on the economic impact that advanced production techniques will have during these times
I love your "we'll get it done right by any means necessary" work mind set lol
I make my own holsters. It was actually really easy. It is a great feeling to be able to save so much money at the same time have a few holsters for one gun.
Amazing vid and love the encouragement at the end, totally agree!!!!
I really like these behind the scenes videos. Keep em coming guys!
Awesome video guys. Thanks for sharing I learned a lot. I especially liked the end commentary about thinking ahead making things happen. Stay safe and healthy.
Isaac, you are the man!!!!
Take that wood presses and Easy Bake Ovens™ ... this is why T-Rex Arms is light years ahead of the competition.
Actually, pretty much the whole industry moved to CNC around the same time we did. It's been very neat to see.
Nice Piece of kit.
I'm about to go to Trade School this Fall, for Machine Tool Technology...thanks to
Mr. Trump! ✊🏻
I can't wait to learn them CNC's, lathes & presses! 🙌🏻
Lmao that’s the HI-Point of CNC machines. Finally something we get to critic you on.
This machine is nowhere near as embarrassing as a Hi-Point. 😂
Your message at the end got me to subscribe. It is time to innovate and work. The inflation coming from all the free money being thrown around will be huge without new products and services to spend it on. God's speed Sir!
funny how you buy a nice machine then you need tooling, clamping, fixture, new cabinets to store said tooling. then you are like why not have two machines. glad you hired a real electrician too. :) Ill be placing my new order soon just to help keep you guys going!
Electrician hooks it up 😉 gotcha
I believe you are a fairly important asset at T Rex Issac!! Good job on the CNC machine and awesome video
Love to see these guys expanding. As a Canadian range officer i carried every day with a trex holster. After these new Canadian laws i might be moving south
Don't flee, stand and fight for your rights.
Congratulations on being able to expand. Keep up the good work.
Bravo Zulu. Keeping America strong and proud! American made means American quality.
Dude, gay.
Looks a lot like my cnc plasma table.
I bought a holster last month and they quality is top notch
1:04 *gasps* see this is proof that trex speeds their videos up FINALLY now i dont have to be a keyboard warrior and can finally go to the range bettering myself without feeling insecure
Cable combs are absolutely worth the investment, or if you can 3D print your own it's even better. definitely helps with wire management.
Wow this looks super neat
This was like a really polite way of saying, prepare for full on financial collapse in an apocalyptic situation where we need to literally be our own production and form smaller local communities in an event of global breakdown
My machine is slightly smaller(48inx60in footprint), and made out several sheets of chipboard and lots of woodglue. Even the gantry. Even going to have improvised linear bearings and use a Makita wood router for a spindle(it has a speed control, oh boy). Finally possible to afford even this little bit because a lot of ducks have lined up in a row for me this year. And as pathetic as my situation sounds I'm thinking exactly like you on this. Have some ideas for things that I've never seen before, and I think that I'll finally be able to make them.
I love the encouraging words.
Nice vid. Kinda miss working on CNC machines and doing all the CAD/CAM jazz. ☺️
Always enjoy your content.
Leader of Hellforge Weapons Engineering & Defensive Squadron here. We utilize additive manufacturing in the firearms and weapon prototype Industries. We plan on working with you guys in the future! Incipiens Ad Finem
7:17 That smirk
Awesome, God bless y'all
Lucas just gained another brother
Did he mean me or that?
Reminds me of building the Breaking Bad Lab! 😂😂
Glad someone said it, the stimulus check is not free money since the saying goes there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
I really appreciate the transparency that you show us especially as a "small business" and I use that term Respectfully.
I saw the laser lighting on the tape measure. 😎
2:55 the 2 dudes in the background are like " who of us looks more like this Chipwood?"
The Bots are becoming self sustaining. Watch out Judgement Day is coming; they're going to build an army of T-800.
LOL, Great seeing the company continue to expand.
That thing is cool 👌
i really like this type of content please do more
Cool new tool. Now please make more left handed holsters so I can own a gun other than glock!
So when is Lucas going hand to hand with Garand Thumb? THE PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW
Awesome video
they should expand their line of light compatible ragnaroks, its very limited and mostly for glock
Jorge Ojeda , I’m hoping🤞🏻. I have a fleet of various H&K’s and they make zero. ☹️
I know they have blue guns for the Sidecars but I think they only CNC the Ragnaroks.
I agree I have a lot of gear from trex but shy on other weapons due to lack of aftermarket support meaning I have no problem spending 1k plus on a good pistol but refuse to unless there is holster war belt support
Very inspiring
Guys, one easy upgrade I'd recommend - some dust collection. Slap a boot on the end of the spindle, hook up a vacuum, and put a Thien baffle between A and B. It'll separate out all the chips and only the super-fine dust will get to the vacuum.
I've already done the work designing 3D printable fittings for a couple of standard shop vacs. They're meant to fit on a 5gal bucket, which will obviously be too small for your production shop, but you can always put that above a trash can and knock the bottom out, or just take the idea and come up with something of your own.
ruclips.net/video/Evu_HuDse4M/видео.html
I was very, very close to buying a Shopbot last year at a liquidation auction. Unfortunately, there's only room for one CNC in my shop, and that's already occupied. Next time I move I'll get a better space.
Thanks for all the videos you guys do. I find them super helpful and informative. Hope this suggestion repays a bit of that favor.
7:12 That's the same look a lot of people at gun shops give after they say it's not a stock it's a pistol brace.
I like these videos
Any plans to build safariland quality duty (level 2/3) holsters? It would be nice to see some competition for them.
What a coincidence, I'm putting in my deposit for a similar machine today. Luckily mine comes pre assembled.
i absolutly have a company i want to start, not making what you do but making a d20 set of dice with different patterns and the like, i just need some start up cash and right now i dont hav a job thanks to this so im living on my savings
very nice...
It's alive!
Will you guys be designing level 2 retention holsters someday?
T.Rex: Nice looking shop. What is the square footage of your shop? How is the temperature maintained, what heating method and A/C is implemented. I heard your new table uses 3 phase, this would be a problem for me unless I relocate.
In before y'all start manufacturing your own NVG's
total newbie at this sort of thing but how many bolts do they need to fasten?
I know you mentioned it’s cheaper than other CNCs what’s its accuracy compared to something like a Haas VF series? Love to see you guys grow, keep it up.
VF is more of a mill, for much higher accuracy and milling metals. This is a router with much bigger work area, but much less rigidity. ShopBot doesn't even say it can do aluminum, although it probably can.
Show this to people when they ask if Machining is just pushing a button, lol
Μπραβο ρε μαγκες καλες δουλειες
Do you guys have an ETA as to when my order might ship? I know COVID-19 has slowed down most companies but my order is just waiting on a Ragnarok holster for a G19 with the TLR7 flashlight.
I wonder if shop bot likes that you are using this for holster making, I have no idea how 2A that company is
SLM printer coming soon!!!
Those rollers on the gantry steel? Looks kinda sketch. Working good for you guys? Seeing much wear?
What kind of tolerances can this machine hold? And what kind of tolerances do you usually hold your kydex product regarding QC?
Chris Beck I bet they have no idea
If it's like the other three machines it will probably stray a few thousandths over the course of the day. That magnetic zero usually comes within 3 or 4 thousandths from our reference plate. I think that has more to do with the rack and gears than the sensor and brain.
Isaac Botkin thank you for the answer! Hopefully one day you guys are looking to bring on a few manufacturing/ mechanical engineers 😂 I’m always looking for ways Into the industry
I like cool, and this is cool.
Making robots that can make holsters is cool.
@@isaacbotkintrex Super cool. I run mine from you erry day. My holster that is, I don't have a fancy robot.
Make your own channel. I'll subscribe for more content like this. 👊
Shot stop shirt? Thought y’all were hesco boys?
*sees no issue with attaching wiring to the heat sink for the control box*
It's not really a very good heat sink. It's just fins spot welded to the back on the box. The wires aren't any hotter than they were in the box, and they aren't really impeding airflow.
Top notch fucking content. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So just wondering you guys wouldn’t happen to be looking for a commercial and industrial electrician to work for T.Rex?
I somehow just realized you don't make a single holster for the Glock 21 and I am rage quit angry right now. I need a sidecar and a raptor and more. This is actually LOL time.
I'm always surprised at how many downvotes these videos get, clearly by gender-confused, man bun lovers who wear skinny leg jeans and Italian long-toe shoes.
Good video, guys. Keep up the good work.
I am happy to greet you, I am from Mexico and I manufacture Kydex holsters but I want to buy a CNC and know what else I need to grow my company. I hope you can support me with some recommendations, thank you very much and I love what you do congratulations.
Is that like his dad or older brother?
Andres Cruz , brother.
I miss Lucas, get him in there to work.
he would end up using the CNC machines to act as moving target holders
@@elephantcheeze Do not give him ideas!
@@isaacbotkintrex "Lucas, it's called a SHOPbot, not a SHOTbot!"
Wish you would have spent a minute showing the cnc in action....
Ordered a few things from T.REX ARMS like one solid month ago. Never received it. I live in Switzerland and id hope it's due to export issues with COVID-19 otherwise i got scammed.
How much did that run you anyway? Im curious.
Watch all the way to the end.
9:46 you're welcome
@@StevenL00 ya thanks was watching it on my break and didn't get to finish and forgot
Wow that looks..... Complicated.
