My coworker was just telling me that her sister gave her some advice. Her sister told her to rate herself from 1 to 10, and my coworker said a 2, because she’s a little insecure, aren’t we all lol

@@nbassasin8092people can be insecure and still bring other strengths to a relationship, not everyone expresses/presents that insecurity in the same way. Most people in relationships still have some growing to do. If you only decide to date people who have already finished their growing, you're not gonna be able to date anyone.
Not to mention it's entirely possible the coworker was just being humble. With the info in this comment we really don't know how sincere they were being.

Want to know how meritocracy is bullshit? I am in salaried management in a warehouse. We had to hire a bunch of leads, a promotion from regular associate. We had to deny really hard workers from promotion because they had a bad interview, instead of judging them on their work. Felt so bad for them. Maybe it's anecdotal but I've heard it's like this most places I've heard.

And like every human being he will have a bad take once in a while, especially streaming 8-10 hours per day, and being bombarded by stupid takes from the chat every 5 min. In contrary to many leftist on youtube I very much believe in self-help (how many people can afford a therapist, or even have a courage to do so), but all the alpha-beta-theta, or how the a "real" man/ woman types are just wrong, harmful, and it's just grift for money, and not genuine want to help.

In regards to the trust issues thing- I think that this has been overdone to the point that it’s lost it’s meaning.
There is a difference between having trust problems that everyone seems to have….
And actual PTSD driven trust issues that make you behave in outrageously illogical ways that can be misinterpreted as disinterest or attempts at ending a relationship when in reality the person is scared that it’s becoming stronger and they’re feeling the trust that they felt before that led to said damage.
I fall in to the latter category personally and it causes a ton of issues.
So yeah- In the context that these morons use it. No. It’s dumb. It’s just people being on guard.
But there are people with actual real genuine trust problems that need special care and understanding.
I'm in a similar situation as you, PTSD related trust issues. When I see the "sigma" people say they have trust issues it bothers me. Not because it's bull shit. Most of the time it is BS but I don't think it matters whether they have absolutely horrible PTSD trust issues, which is understandable, or the really average level of trust issues most people have. I think the main problem with "sigma" people using this terminology is how they perceive it. They seem to believe it is a positive characteristic that they should take pride in because it makes them cool. I know for me it isn't something I take pride in. I know it's something I need to work on and I take pride in the fact that I am trying to work on it. However I don't consider the trust issues to be a good thing. Based on how you described it as "outrageously illogical" I have a feel you also don't think it's something to take pride in. So it absolutely bothers me, not when people simply say they have trust issue but, when they talk about it as if it's a good thing that people should aspire to. I've been working my ass off with a psychiatrist and a therapist for years to get past these issues in me because they can be debilitating and these dumbasses are acting like trust issues are the coolest personality trait.

Over time I became really paranoid even to people I know for a long time and it's hard for me to believe that people might be genuinely nice and aren't plotting something bad or might be capable of doing so. It took me months in my last relationship and a lot of reassurance to build enough trust. It sucks.
Trust not a viable policy. I think trusting people is absolutely crazy but why would you advertise yourself as not trusting? Like you have shown your colors at that point, as a result people expect that to predict your next move accordingly which is exactly what you're avoiding by not trusting people? Hypothetically if I am a paranoid untrusting crazy person the last thing I would do is proudly share with other people on the internet complete strangers. Being cautious is a natural of existence trust is telling yourself lies the only way of learning the value as a lesson is getting duped or exploited by malicious parties in life. Being paranoid is not cool it's insane until something very very bad happens to you that's how you get PTSD and the brain tries to avoid that at all costs turning your life to horror. The safest thing to do is wait and observe people from a distance do not scream for attention; learn to zip off when danger becomes likely.
