All it takes to improve interviewing skills is just knowing who you’re talking to. The questions are so bland and they all seem pretty oblivious to that fact. It really is insulting to the viewer. I really just can’t see grant ever becoming a good interviewer really.

I feel like the equivalent would be asking the comedian what their best or favorite moment was in comedy. I doubt the answer would be, "When I'm coming up with ideas."
People talking about him asking the question a bunch as if they're not all different people. Makes absolutely zero sense to me what the difference between asking 1 person the question and asking 6 million people the question. They were asked it once.
Regarding interviewing. Research first. Bullet point a few things you would like to talk about, and then listen. Most interviewers are trying too hard to get their next question out and don't listen to their guest. Have a conversation with your questions in mind, but let it flow organically. LISTEN. P.S.
