Questions from Matt Fisher (MSG) to Matt Kendrick (GG CEO)
2:15 “Let's back up to the beginning, what’s your background and how did you get into the space?”
8:33 “So Garrett brought in the editor/camera guys?”
9:10 “So GoodGood launches, how do you find, I guess Bubbie was the next add, right?”
10:22 “So with the, they moved to Dallas, they’re in the house, how is that? You pay for the house, they come… it’s all covered by you? How does that work?”
11:56 “So how do you meet… how does Grant come into the picture here?
14:17 “How do these trips work out? How do they get planned and executed? Can you break this down for us?”
17:05 “How far in advance are you, let’s say from shooting to airing the video?”
17:45 “Who is coming up with all the video ideas?”
18:21 “Who decides who’s a part of the team? There are a couple of vacancies, so who picks the talent there?”
    20:41 “How is GoodGood structured?”
21:45 “So when a guy like Micah leaves, it creates more of an issue because he has equity?”
22:46 “So Micah leaves and that came as a shock to a lot of people. But I think a lot of people saw it coming based on how it started. If you rewind enough, it was GM Golf, Garrett and Micah, and then there was really no Micah until GoodGood, it was really only until GoodGood started when Micah was involved.”
23:43 “So Micah leaves, he is doing pro, married. The shocker is Grant leaves, and it didn’t seem like anyone saw that coming especially with how he was pretty tied in with Garrett on GM golf and has his own channel, what happened Matt?”
26:32 “What exactly is the “kitchen sink”?”
28:23 “You may not answer this, but I have to ask it, does it have anything to do with LIV golf?
29:32 “How do you deal with the fact that you bring guys into the GoodGood family, you give them a platform, they build their channel up to a substantial level, an then they bolt. What do you do with that?”
32:14 “Is there a non-compete and what does that look like?”
32:47 “Does GoodGood own any piece of their personal channel or does it have any stake at all?”
33:53 “These guys own a percentage of the company; I am guessing it’s not all equal percentages? Are they paid on a percentage of revenue for whatever it generates per month or is there a salary they are receiving? How does that work?”
35:19 “How do you handle the fact that a company wants to sponsor Garrett for example, right, GM Golf. Let’s say a sponsor wants to work with Garrett and not GoodGood, how does that play into the whole situation?”
38:01 “Do the guys own a piece of all your arms - Apparel? Product?”
38:29 “With the apparel, how big is that piece of the business outside of RUclips? Give me a pie chart of this.”
39:58 “How do you get paid? How are you making your money?”
    41:50 General conversation
46:55 “Who is on the shortlist to fill in for Grant? I guess you need a Grant and a Micah fill-in for next week.”
47:30 “What big names do you have coming to the channel?”
    50:20 GoodGood Putter talk
54:25 “How fast do these putters sell out?”
55:40 “What is your prediction in terms of the future of golf in the next 5 years? What do you see there?
58:32 “Do you think there is going to be a RUclipsr golf tour or league?
1:01:09 “Are there going to be, is there plans to add a girl to the GoodGood group? Is that something you are looking into?”
1:02:01 “Would you do a GoodGood female channel? Who would be on that channel?”

IMO, Micah wasn't one of their big stars. Good Good isn't like watching the pro's, it's like watching a family. It's more of a sitcom (not the best analogy), but there are characters and you tune in for the people more than the skill. Micah was great, don't get me wrong, but his personality wasn't in the top 3. I think the Good Good Cup week proved that, as Kwon literally filled perfectly for Micah. But Grant...damn. Grant was a central character. Gonna be REAL hard to replace him. But they all knew that, and that's why they "threw the kitchen sink" at him. There's a reason they weren't saying that about Micah.

While that may be factually true, the reason he doens't take a paycheck is because he likely has a heavy majority stake in the company's equity and is playing the long game. And you know what.. that's smart and there's nothing wrong with it, but don't talk to a large audience like you're the smartest person in the room and we're all just going to eat up the story that you're doing this out of the kindness of your heart.

So many corporate big wig decisions going down, expenses going through the roof and staff ballooning. I suspect that might be a good (at least partial) reason Grant left, if that is true.
Also, his answer about not taking a check is EXTREMELY misleading and he is insanely smart to have said and done it that way. How could he be the bad guy, he doesn't even get a paycheck. The trick is he is absolutely making money from GG and his stake is growing by the minute, he just doesn't get a paycheck. Lots of CEOs say/do that for PR. Many will say, "well, they say I have to get a paycheck so I just get paid $0.01. Further, if you've watched a lot of his GM video appearances, he's made it plain many times that he wanted to go back to Florida. It's obvious he loves his parents dearly, and they're getting up there in age. On top of that, most of the Good Good guys live like they're in a college dorm, and Grant's a quiet family guy. @@Golfingly Matt Kendrick is an investor. So at the bit where he stated “I don’t get a check out of this”, it’s because he owns a large stake of good good and makes complete bank off of that. It’s no different than Elon Musk, Elon (Matt Kendrick) does not write himself a check, but his wallet (his investments) explodes in growth where any profit in good good occurs. Kendrick wants to make good good like a titleist or callaway, so all clubs, balls, bags, you name it. Doing that would mean that all the guys would have to cut ties with their current sponsors, like Garrett with Mizuno. The problem that can arise here with the guys is that while Good Good continues growing in the golf market, Kendrick nets the majority of the profit. This also clamps them all to the brand completely, and for guys like Grant, who loves the game of golf for fun, this corporate mess is probably the last thing he wanted to get stuck in. He would have zero freedom.

Very curious to understand what % shareholder Matt is in the company. Having a background in start ups I wouldn’t be surprised if the Good Good team gave up considerable amount of control for initial investment by Matt which resulted in Grant ultimately leaving.

Grant came in after Matt was already the CEO, so he knew the decision-making process before he signed up with the GG team. Apparently no one knows exactly why Grant decided to depart and by all accounts they wanted him to stay. Good luck to both.

It's so interesting that they're actually a golf apparel and equipment company using RUclips as the advertising platform without being in your face about it.

So much respect for Matt bringing this GoodGood creation to life, thank you. Garret has this incredible aura about him and my kids just love watching all his videos. Every company stumbles along the way, they will bounce back and continue to put out some great content

Got it. Grant has committed to Mizuno and made promises to stick with them. GG tells Grant that he needs to end his partnership in Jan as it will be a competing brand and Grant says no.
