The test is shorter now. Its 3 hours and 45 minutes, only 125 questions and 10 experimental questions. The passing score also isn't necessarily 72%, but is instead weighted now based on the difficulty of the questions in that particular exam. Finally, you don't receive your score anymore, they just say pass or fail and you can't even see it in CRD anymore.
@@buddybestor he's right, I just took it and it's exactly as this comment describes. The exam is much shorter now. Even then, I found it rather difficult because of all the suitability questions (and art and science IMO) and I only left with 7 minutes left. I passed and its definitely passable, just make sure you study and know the concepts and options math well because they may even unite a couple topics into one question, so this isn't a memorization test, this is a 'do you really know the material' kind of test. Good luck!
Schools always focus on educating content rather than the process of preparation and the ability to break it down for a more strategic approach to be the most successful you can be.
I like when you brought up the process of the computer determining your results on the spot, reminds me of when I took the adjuster exam for New York and Hawaii. Extremely nerve racking honestly.
You can pay FINRA $75 and be over the age of 18 and take the SIE exam. This exam qualifies you for the Series 7 exam. Then you have to actually get sponsored by a member firm (in other words, get hired by a firm) and they'll sponsor you and pay your fees and study materials. The SIE would be a huge resume booster for you in college as the only requirement is to be over 18. The dirty little secret of the financial industry is that you DO NOT need a college degree at all. All you need is to be over the age of 18 and literally that's it. You don't even need to graduate high school. Firms do prefer you go to college, but it is not an industry requirement; only passing the tests is required.
Donnie Azoff hey so this video was made before the SIE was a thing, it’s now the series 7 top off exam with 135 questions (10 of which are experimental). The sie is a prerequisite for the top off and does not need a financial sponsor to take. The series 7 does.
Hi Javed, you should be able to if you can find a testing center near you. Check Prometric's website to locate the centers in your area: securereg3.prometric.com/Dispatch.aspx
Bro haha, not only do you get a physical calculator, there is also a digital calculator on the desktop screen of the test! I just took it last week and passed and that was a very welcome surprise because the hand held one they gave me crapped out on me halfway through the test.
This guy makes me feel comfortable taking the test right now without having studied a single page.
