It order to buy and sell securities on behalf of clients, you’ll need a Series 63 license and a Series 6 or 7 - in order to sit for any of those exams, you’ll first need to pass the SIE Exam.
Hey Kyle, congratulations. We recommend taking your series 7 exam if you are planning on becoming a financial advisor. If you plan on executing trades on behalf of your clients, you will also need to pass your series 63.
Hey Shawn, of each of the exams, I would say the series 7 is the most valuable. The SIE will teach out the fundamentals, the series 7 will teach you much more than a series 6 (although they function similarly), and the series 63 will allow you to trade on behalf of others in your state. If you want to be able to trade on behalf of others, then you’ll want to take the SIE, then I would recommend getting a Series 7, then a Series 63.
@@financestrategists4468 what do you mean, Trade on the behalf of others? What job positions require Series 63 and Series 7? What is the difference between someone who is a options trader vs. someone who gets the Series 63 and 7? I’m real interested! I would love to hear back
After reading literature on the Series 63, it stated that Ohio does not require the license. Is there a caveat to that? Can a person from the states not required still practice trading without that license? Thank you
@@TheStarteezy so you need to, 1). Degree in Finance 2). Pass: SIE, 7, 63 exams 3). Find a bank broker? 4). Meet clients and invest their money? 5). Make money investing client money?

Hey Priscilla, the Series 7 allows you to trade almost all types of assets classes, but a Series 3 allows financial professionals to deal with alternative investments and futures contracts.
I am an Options Trader and generate decent returns. Do I need to get any credentials or license to trade Options for my friends and family? Can I start advertising and marketing my Options trading services to the general public? I hear I don't need any license for trading for up to 15 people. Is this true? Where can I find more information on this subject?

How do you find a broker to pick you up?
Look for a broker-dealer, brokerage or bank that’s hiring and is offering testing for top off exams. I went to Indeed.
