There has NEVER been a 1st head coach in CFB as prepared as BV. He did this the right way and prepared for 25 years. I love the doubt because it will only fuel him and the team even more. Boomer!

I have a feeling that Venables is mad the way TBOW left (my opinion) and he is making it known in his passion and love for the university since he has history here. He is holding nothing back and he has put together one, if not the top coaching staff in all of the country in the offseason. The culture change is happening and fans are nothing but excited. The guy loves OU and you can tell ... He has been waiting for this job and I am thrilled.
It’ll be A LOT more fun going to The Grove at Ole Miss and losing a game than going to Manhattan, KS and losing a game. We’ll win some games as an underdog and lose some as a favorite, but you hit the nail on the head, IT’LL BE A LOT MORE FUN.
I'd love to see you guys get "Good Ol' JR" Jim Ross on your show. He's one of the highest profile OU fans out there, and i'd love to hear him discuss OU players who went on to have success in pro wrestling, like Dr. Death Steve Williams and Jake Hager. Pretty sure I remember discussions of Dusty flirting with that career path, i'd love to hear details about that. It'd be some peak middle of the summer content when theres not much else going on lol.
Honestly, we've seen so many coaches get hired at big schools, namely, Texas. Those coaches return favors to all their friends by hiring them as coaches, rather than hiring the best person available. BV has hired the best coaches available to his staff. Bob Stoops did the same thing when he first came to OU. Do you think he was friends with Mike Leach when he was at Florida? No, Mike Leach was the guy that was giving Defenses fits back then. Anyways you get my point. Great hiring and I as a fan, cannot be happier.
First. Coach V. has been coaching big boy football for a long time. He has worked for, and with three hall of fame coaches. He is wearing three natty rings, and has put a bunch of players into the NFL. All anyone has to do is look at his hires. Jeff Lebby. who statistically out coached Riley last year, and did it in the SEC. Todd Bates, A true 5 star hire on the D, and a guy that worked closely with BV at Clemson. Bates has a ton of respect from his peers as a great coach, and recruiter. Jerry Schmidt a true guru at conditioning. Add Demarco Murry, and Bill Bedenbaugh ( the winner of the Joe Moore award) I can not think of another coach in college football more qualified to be a Head Coach than Brent Venables. Just replay these doubters comments next January.

After he got the HC job at USC he starting blocking OU fans and former OU players like Tony Casillas and Brian Bosworth. Now he restricts who can reply to his tweets. He's so petty. He never blocked me because I unfollowed him after I found out that he was going to be the HC at USC. I want to see one if not all three of these guys on here, Tony Casillas, Jason White and Sam Bradford. I need to know what Sam Bradford has been up to because he's not on Twitter. If I were an athletic director at a school or school system, the first thing I would get rid of is using any kind of conditioning as punishment. I would come up with other ways to punish failure or incentivize success. I think using conditioning as a form of punishment puts a negative aspect on something that should be encouraged. An alternative would be something that does condition but no one would like to do; something like digging a hole and filling it back up. Or have a pile of heavy rocks or concrete blocks and have them move one pile to another pile.
Love the show boys! I agree the comparisons to WVU, TCU, and the Terps is ridiculous. Now, what if he had made a comparison to Nebraska? That would've been more valid and more scary! Huskers aren't getting the players any more. They also aren't allowed to run the walk-on/roid program any longer where a high school quarterback walks on at 6'3" 185 and leaves a 6'3" 285 all-conference offensive lineman. Thoughts?
what did nebraska in is that they moved to the big 10 and instantly lost all of their texas ties, if anything it’s going to bolster recruiting for ou because you keep the texas ties while also getting in the door on some more kids from florida, Georgia , etc.

Great show, I just subscribed 👍. I want to make a comment about the media’s assessment of BV, but the comment is not directed at Ikard and Lehman. When HOF NBA coach Rick Adelman retired, he did an interview immediately following his last game. Adelman made a very pointed reply when asked what he was going to do next. He said “I don’t know, maybe I’ll get a tv or radio show so I can become an expert on how to coach.” I almost fell out of my chair with laughter. Bottom line, people need to stop giving too much weight in the people that make a living off words. Teddy, you and I think somewhat a like, believe hard nose discipline and hard work. But Gabe needs some work, why? Because you do not concede to the national pundits that OU will not be successful immediately in the Big XII and in SEC. Here is the the reason I say that and the reason we will need to succeed immediately. 1) Schmidt and Dobson 2) great talent on the rooster, 3) development and discipline, 4) this is the University of Oklahoma. The weight room is where strength is developed and James Dobson is one of the best strength and conditioning coach in football, full stop. Dobson is the genius behind Ndamukong Suh’s development. I think Brent Venables has everything in place to go out there and win the Big XII right now. It is important to win now because ain’t nobody going to sit around and wait on Oklahoma to develop. I see no reason why Oklahoma cannot go undefeated this season. Furthermore, the gap running scheme has been working well for many years at Oklahoma. Because it creates a mismatch as the guard and tackle pulls. The problem is you must good physical condition to execute it properly. The same for zone schemes, you have to be in good physical condition to get to your assignment area and climb for down field blocking, the Oklahoma linemen are too fat in the bottom to run gap or zone. If these guys are conditioned properly they will dominate this season and grow through out the next three seasons. BOOMER SOONER
When Ou & Tex "Big Timed" the Conference that triggered a back lash of Animosity towards both schools. Baylor and OState took great pride in beating OU/Tex, which was expected. There are still RUclips channels hung up on the Riley/Williams "syndrome" and cant digest the fact that Sooner Fans moved on Months ago. When Stoops pulled this mysterious "Retirement" and no Search was done He picked a guy with an unknown track record of coaching history.
super show. i'd rather see great competition every week than win against east storm door jc. but its not all football. because i have a phenom vaulter grand daughter, i know some gymnastics people in birmingham. they are beyond overjoyed to get the gym women. and softball goes without saying. golf. tennis. baseball. even bball is moving into a better spot. good show. u guys hit it out.
Never really understood the resentment some people have for OU football. I guess the success of the program not matching the popular perception of the state?
Yes. I think the perception is thst ou fans overrate thier own team all the time. There is definitely a media snub going on. It's the popular thing now. It's silly and just entertainment.
When OU is in the SEC, do they still schedule a top flight non-conference opponent? There are plenty of rummy opponents in SEC schedules now. And the "newness" of playing Arkansas and Missouri every year will wear off and be just like a TCU or KState game is now.
Guys, as far as gaming income potential, IF you build a large enough fanbase the earnings can be far more than playing in the NFL. One decent twitch games received a $200k BONUS just for putting in a required number of hours streaming in January. These streamers make a BOAT LOAD of money.
Formula 1 is irrelevant but its fun to watch gabe get excited. 2 guys battling it out every race is enough reason to spend discretionary time elsewhere imo.
I understand that it is difficult to critique new coaches. BV has never been a HC and OU has lost a lot of seniors and other talent. And yet, he has put together a dynamic, dare I say Dream Team of Coaches and Recruiters, amazing recruiting and transfer portal class and a dedicated school and fanbase. How will that translate to success? You have LR who has been a HC, but even with all the talent he had at OU, has never managed to compete at the very top. He's has never had to turn around a program or deal with creating a program like USC that is way down in the dumps. Mario Cristobal showed talent at Oregon, but the Miami program is a dumpster fire. I would put LSU in that category too! How in the he*l do you fire a coach that delivered a National Championship the prior season? When you consider the above, the program that BV has created, the experience that he gained with Swinney - who by all accounts is an amazing man of integrity - damn! We are so lucky to get him and I would hands down choose BV over any coach in the nation. I think he is starting with a strong foundation and has made all the right decisions. SO EXCITED!!!! Tear it up BOOMER!
Those twitch earnings that leaked are just money from subscriptions a lot of the top people make over a mil every month just from that alone not including sponsorships or donations

We be salty

Teddy going hard on the pod! Extra salty. I love it!! Give ‘em hell, Teddy
Never really understood the resentment some people have for OU football. I guess the success of the program not matching the popular perception of the state?
Yes. I think the perception is thst ou fans overrate thier own team all the time. There is definitely a media snub going on. It's the popular thing now. It's silly and just entertainment.
Simply the best
comment for that sweet sweet algorithm
When OU is in the SEC, do they still schedule a top flight non-conference opponent? There are plenty of rummy opponents in SEC schedules now. And the "newness" of playing Arkansas and Missouri every year will wear off and be just like a TCU or KState game is now.
Guys, as far as gaming income potential, IF you build a large enough fanbase the earnings can be far more than playing in the NFL. One decent twitch games received a $200k BONUS just for putting in a required number of hours streaming in January. These streamers make a BOAT LOAD of money.
Lol ppl at OU aren't doubting BV. And that's all that matters
Best quote misery enjoys company. Lmao I’d still love to see wvu and Marshall go at it. But maybe one day.
I would make my right arm a sacrificial lamb if you guys would get Brian Bosworth on here
Formula 1 is irrelevant but its fun to watch gabe get excited. 2 guys battling it out every race is enough reason to spend discretionary time elsewhere imo.
Get Brian Bosworth or Rocky Calmus.
Waited over 7 minutes for him to explain why he is wearing a Texas shirt if that was a beat Texas shirt that's OK but I'm on a need to know basis!
⭕🙌🏻🏈
I don’t think Bryan should be fired after the stuff that’s come out a lot of strange things
Well this is a day later and no expansion until 25
Because he hired Jeff Lebby, the holes to fill, and a QB from a powder puff conference
In response to they are just that blue bloods. “Yeah that’s kinda the point.” Lol 🤣😭😤
