It was not all Lincoln Riley's fault. For starters it started with these hideous people: OU Board of Regents, Athletic Director, and whoever was in the meeting regarding following texas like a trained seal, and of course Money, as we are heading to espn which runs the sec. Here is something to think about: OU fans, are hypocrites: Remember how you wanted Brent out of OU? I remember, because I wanted Mike Stoops out also, because OU defense was declining under Bob Stoops. If the competition is so underwhelming in the big 12, why has OU only had one undefeated season and National Championship and that was way back in 2000. OU fans thinking that they will be playing bama, georgia, lsu, florida, well brace yourself, the sec has the worst rotation in the history of all sports. OU may play georgia twice in 10 years. Again, if OU is so great, why have we only had one undefeated season and again that was 2000. As for booing Spencer, the venom should have been directed at Alex Grinch and the entire defense. Now for Riley, he is a coward, his three losses to sec teams in the playoffs, Georgia, which we could have won in the Rose Bowl------lousy coaching at the end of the game. The game with bama, extremely slow start, and we still did not have a defense, The game with lsu, in all honesty, lsu could have scored more points against our defense-------defenseless. Lincoln is at a lesser conference that is looking for identity. A lot of so call OU fans don't remember the 90's, when OU was horrible. OU fans need to start looking at the full circle, and put the blame on all parties. Like so many people, I was in the state of shock when Lincoln pulled his USC mess. As an OU fan going all the way back to the 60's and yes I was at OU with Barry Switzer 1977-1982, Fans, Student Athletes are just now realizing that College Football is Big Business, now thanks to the NCAA (Yes Great for the NCAA), we have a college football portal, where now students athletic can come/go at will just like coaches have been doing there entire life. As for the three host, I remember there playing days, Thanks for Everything, you are and always will be Oklahoma Sooners!
@@bryanwiley5511, Wow, thats a whole lot of name calling in your comment. "Hideous people," "Hypocrites," "trained seals." I think you're mistaking decisions you don't like for bad character and trying to establish some sort of seniority amongst sooner fans doesn't change that. Many of us know the history and have been fans just as long as you. Lets hit some of your points one by one. First of all, Lincoln riley is absolutely and totally at fault for the culture of his team. He was the head coach, establishing and maintaining that culture is one of his primary jobs. He certainly had the talent to do it. Second, though you may be emotionally attached to the Big 12 conference or maybe just scared of the SEC, The decision made by the AD and board of directors makes sense from a financial and recruiting standpoint. It's their job to put the university in the best possible situation and that's what moving to the SEC does whether we like it or not. I actually get the trepidation about moving. I am emotionally attached to the big 12 too, and had learned to hate the constant SEC rhetoric, so I was not a fan initially. However, after looking at it coldly, it does make sense for the reasons I just stated. Third, There is nothing hypocritical about wanting to hire someone back after they have shown significant improvement over a ten year period and been one of the tops in their field. That's what Venables did. Mike Stoops was only getting worse. Fourth, I'm certain you don't really know what "OU fans" think, at least not enough of us to claim to speak for us. We do not think we will be playing Bama, Georgia, LSU and Florida every year. Most of us are smart enough to know how this works. We also know the SEC will have to change how they are organized once we join, so none of us really know who we will play every year. Fifth, While I don't agree with booing college players in general, what exactly does booing Rattler have to do with the defense. There's enough blame to go around and the booing of Rattler was specifically for his poor play, and turnovers. Sixth, We don't think OU has been "so great" on the field (that's been our chief complaint) but we love our university and think they are a very good team and are very close to being great with the right leadership and players. Now, judging from the tone of your post, if you revisit this, I'm sure you will have some choice names to call me too, so fire away. I hope it helps alleviate some of the obvious anger you have towards everyone, but I doubt it.
@@bryanwiley5511 The Board and the AD had nothing to do with the offense. FOR A PLAYER NOT TO KNOW THE FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME IS WELL RIDICULOUS. Thats on Riley.
@@bryanwiley5511 That was well written my friend. I must be a few years younger than yourself, but I remember the Sooners in the late 70's and 80's and we were a powerhouse. I loved watching Oklahoma and Barry run the option offense(Jamelle Holiday). I think you are spot on in regards to OU not truly being a powerhouse. The defense has been so weak under Alex Grinch. I have written several times praying that we start recruiting 300 pd plus defensive lineman. We can never truly compete against the likes of Bama and the rest of the SEC until we start dominating at the line of scrimmage. So, let me ask you, are you happy about the BV hire? How would you fix OU to make us a more dominate program? I liked your take.
Rufus was taking me back, but the 2017 Rose Bowl reference was perfect. As soon as he explained it, I thought "OU would have won the Natty that year if Stoops was the coach". I always felt like Bob stepped down so they wouldn't lose Lincoln, but that was his team. 4th and a foot in OT, when a TD wins the game, and you have the best OL in the country, he would have gone for it.

Thanks for the great show today! Now it make perfect sense why the team struggled this year and were getting progressively worse each year. All these defensive players idolize BV for what he has accomplished especially with the Kansas recruit Isaiah Simmons and they want him to help them to get to that status
It’s kind of shocking to hear what the changes have been on offensive from an operational standpoint. It sounds like Riley held his knowledge close to his chest and was not as interactive with the other moving components of the offense. A secluded playlist? No pre organized situational plays? I know what's so big about California, I don't know, how many places can you snow ski, surf, and golf all in the Same day?
I was very proud to get my education and play college golf for Oklahoma city university , however playing college golf in Oklahoma was brutal. 30, 40, 50 mph winds was not easy! I will retire in Oklahoma in about 10 years. Boomer sooner!
I lived in California, Victorville/Hesperia area. Love the California scenery and lots of friendly people, that was in the early 1990s. Now, the politics of California have ABSOLUTELY RUINED what was once a great place to live...imho.
Michigan learned from last year that COVID 19 is real. Venables is not going to go after Clemson players because he is a man of God, full of integrity, and not willing to steal another program’s sheep. Now if he decides to come on his own, so be it.
bv have to realize in the near future that he will have to recruit against dabo and clemson for top notch recruits now or later when they join the sec get cracking
Most of the OU players want to become NFL caliber atheletes ! Well for those dreams to come true, they had Best Get Tough !! NFL Players are Full Grown Men and they do Not want to Give up Their Spot !!! Young Players Have to Take a Spot if they want a career in the NFL ! Its pretty simple ! Example Cee Dee Lamb ! He morphed into a Beast !! Now the best wide out in the NFL ! Example: DeDe Westbrook, in year two, went from being Ok, into a weapon and runner up in the Heisman ! DeDe also Morphed his body into a faster stronger version of himself !!
The Lord Jesus had a birthday, but it wasn't December 25th. Look at Hebrew History and calendars, you will find His "actual birthday" occurred sometime in September...just sayin, lol!

(Farming area) let me catch you up on history. The dust Bowl day okies, arkies, and Texans settled in California.
Weather is fantastic. Some really cool cities. They just don't care about football as much as we do.
I lived in California, Victorville/Hesperia area. Love the California scenery and lots of friendly people, that was in the early 1990s. Now, the politics of California have ABSOLUTELY RUINED what was once a great place to live...imho.
I love that shirt. Just missing one-bit** out west. But super nice sir very nice.

He wasn't a great ou couch though so he not mentioned lol
Jeron....He's a mini Teddy...lol
Can someone explain to me what “not making your time” means?
Hey Gabe, can we file a “FOIA” to get a copy of those texts?
Michigan learned from last year that COVID 19 is real. Venables is not going to go after Clemson players because he is a man of God, full of integrity, and not willing to steal another program’s sheep. Now if he decides to come on his own, so be it.
Nice t-shirt Gabe

I vote for Teddy on the
defensive side ball to coach
Gabe throwing shade on Bennie Owen with that shirt?
That's just ridiculous.
@@OK_Breakdown It was a joke. Obviously I know you love OU, and especially the program. My dry humor doesn't work in print.
Hey Gabe, I guess there is not enough room on your shirt for Bennie.
Didn't design the shirt, Jon. I know who Bennie Owen is.
Roses are red
Violets are black
I sure am glad that Venables is back
Barry Switzer: go get Mike Leach!!!
Nah, I’m good Barry.
🗣 ROOOOOOOOOOOF!
Tennessee would be a good fit for Casey Thompson
RUUUUUU!
Gabe needs to know that shirt offends some Sooner fans
Its
Bennie
Bud
Barry
Bob
Brent
That's just the facts
We didn't design the shirt.
Yes we approve of your Exit LR! Dont ever come back!!
Why would young healthy college athletes get triple poked? It doesn’t stop transmission. Insanity.
Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
OU's BBBB T-Shirt...Build Back Better, Brandon.
As a man thinks so he is Boomer
The team will have to forfeit if they cant form a team!

He was at ou for like 11 years before A&M our players were fine then so well be ok Ron
@@SNERFAN He was at OU for 18 years. Its clear who the better conditioned teams were when you choose between 99 and '17 and '18 to three weeks ago.
@@johnl5350 no doubt about it!
I am ashamed of Gabe. A graduate of Bishop McGinnis. saying the Lords birthday should celebrated on a day that makes him feel good.
I believe the Lord also said something about judging others, Michael. Relax, man.
The Lord Jesus had a birthday, but it wasn't December 25th. Look at Hebrew History and calendars, you will find His "actual birthday" occurred sometime in September...just sayin, lol!
Ruuuuuuufus!
