My two absolute favorite BoA songs of all time! In a recent viral BoA reaction video by Korean teens, they mentioned that kids everywhere learning to sing would always have these two songs in their repertoire. Imagine having such an impact that kids would grow up learning to sing because of your songs. BoA is such a Queen in many ways. Atlantis Princess has been an old school classic BoA song that is super popular with the public, however it’s interesting that she didn’t sing it for 10 years after its promotional period. Apparently she never performed it for that long because a manager of hers died during the promotional period for that song and she associated it with him for the longest time. That’s why it was such a treat to fans when she started performing it for her concerts a few years back. The fans went crazy.

Even as I'm a late comer to K-Pop after living in Korea for a few years now, I knew BoA only as a J-Pop star in Japan back when I started getting into Japanese music in 2001-2002, years before I even imagined I would be moving to Korea someday. I remember watching her on various Japanese variety shows such as Hey!Hey!Hey! Music Champ! and numerous appearances on the Kouhaku Uta Gassen, and purchased a number of her Japanese music CD's and DVD's. She was so natural and amazingly polished for such a young kid, and along with Utada Hikaru, and Amuro Namie, was one of the major dance oriented J-Pop stars of that time. I highly recommend you react to this live video of her Japanese version of "Amazing Kiss" from 2001-02. Fun fact, boa in her teens, went through a lot of hair styles and colors. She also had so many piercings in her ear. Boa went she debut was a highly trained dancer, she knew multiple styles of dancing as well as well as body popping.
