I can really appreciate companies building in chest and rib protection like this, I got knocked off my bike by a car last year and got 8 broken ribs, all the other limb protection and helmet did their job just a few grazes and bruises elsewhere
I tried this on at the RevZilla store in the US and loved! Super comfy and felt like it had all the right protection. Wonder if you think it’s good in hot temps - thought I might get it as summer jacket (if you think it’s well vented).
Would be nice to see these in other colors like white (to better deal with heat). Also, how comfortable is it? Does the inside feel nice against the skin? I have a Knox Urbane mk2 and it a bit scratchy/unrefined inside.
Hi thanks for the great review It's the only review I've seen for this jacket I've never worn a mesh jacket before I sweat more when I feel uncomfortable moving my body in hot weather Is it stretchy compared to 3 seasons of jacats?
This looks really good. Can’t take another season with my Urbane Mk2 as it’s too tight and short on the arms despite sizing up by 2 sizes and lacks stretch. Will be giving this a try over the new expensive Tor which doesn’t include chest and rib protection
Where I always found the Knox offerings to fit a broad-shouldered athletic body too tight, I find this one runs almost a bit generous. Far more of a streamlined mesh jacket then a true "base layer" cut, since most of the material is a non-stretchy 3d mesh.
@@cblais19 What size you wear? And your height weight and chest measurements? I'm 170cm tall, 65-70kg, nearly 100cm chest. I'm between S and M. What do you think?
@@Canpwr I would try a Small if you can. 42" chest, 180lbs, and a large was quite roomy on me. The arms in particular felt loose, not great for a garment meant to be a close fitting armored shirt.
No weight given? Either way it looks far more comfortable than the Knox offerings. The Urbane Pro II I find it particularly rough and scratchy inside, is mostly non-stretch and is heavy for what it is. My only reservation about this Rev'it offering would be the zip. The Urbane zip is already unprotected at the neckline and can cause discomfort. This is lower, but also seems to not be backed by any material to improve comfort.
Thanks for the great review, I would like to know how bulky this jacket is compared to the Knox urbane pro mk3. I want to use it as a midlayer but i am looking for something that is stealthy. Can the revit armor be replace with ce level 2 armor that is thinner such as D30 ghost or the Sas Tech slim armor? Especially the back protector, the revit one is quite dated and thick.(not a fan, they really should update it). Thanks.
Hi, the garment is as bulky as the Urbane Pro. Revit have very specific shape for back armour so you would have to get the Revit one to fit into the jacket, no other brands will fit. Hope this helps! - Iza
Could the SeeFlex armour be easily swapped out for Knox Microlock level 2 or some D3O level 2 options? I have the SeeFlex CE2 armour in my Rev'it Trench GTX jacket and honestly hate how hard and stiff it is - it's surprising how something so firm/hard can effectively dissipate the forces encountered in a crash.
The Proteus is basically just an armor carrying base layer with no abrasion resistance, so you MUST layer an abrasion resistant top (jacket or else). The Nucleus is a CE AA certified abrasion resistant garment that also carries your armor, so it can be worn alone in hot days, and layer on top of it when it gets cold. I’d suggest you read or watch videos about ( motorcycle safety gear) if you’re new to motorcycling.
That's the Scott waterproof jacket. About €90. Super comfortable, stretchy fabric, lightweight and totally waterproof. I have the jacket and their waterproof trousers and rate them highly. Hope this helps.
Can this jacket be worn as a base layer under other revit jackets (similar to the proteus) or is it too big? If so should I buy the same size as my other jackets? Thanks!
Speaking of sizes, if KNOX Urbane Pro (MK1) in size S is a right amount of tight on me (pretty tight but still not restricting movements or giving me any sort of discomfort or fatigue) what can I expect from Revit Nucleus in size S?
Can someone help me out, my Riding teacher told me this jacket ist Not good because its to thin and wont protect my Skin enough in case of an accident, is this true or are the elbow and shoulder parts reinforced for sliding on Asphalt?

Impressive armor set! Nice to see manufactures taking armor seriously.
We agree!
I wear this in the tropics at 30-35 C, nothing underneath and its truly cool.
Thanks for the info
In South Korea, summer is over 30ºC. so I was wondering if this jacket is cool enough

Good to know. I’m looking for something for daily use in Colombia.

I much prefer the look and fit of this Nucleus to the Knox stuff which I really dislike. What was the waterproof top in this video, Tim, please?

I agree, an inner mesh/silk/whatever layer would be nice (as owner of Knox Honister)

I have the Knox MK3 shirt which is similar. Tough to beat the Knox. It would be interesting to do a comparison.
Do you think it will be enough ventilated for the summer? (Around 30-35 degrees)
It's entirely ventilated 3d mesh and breathable stretch. Only downside is being all black.

Hi, you might need to size up if you are planing to wear an airbag vest underneath! - Iza
@@UrbanRiderlondon What about wearing an airbag vest (Klim/Ixon/Held In&Motion) over it if you remove the back protector?
The reason i chose this over the Urbane Pro is because of 9 piece armour.
Perhaps something KNOX could consider doing in the future.
You showed a waterproof layer several times in the video. What is it (Revit, judging by the branding) and how much does it cost? Thanks.
