    That is the beauty of these retro bikes all the lovely extras to make it your own whether practical parts or just bling its great fun. Look forward to you making some changes and the 1000 mile owners review 👍

      That's a great point Mark, retro bikes and customisation are two sides of the same coin. The aftermarket is gradually coming onboard with the BSA Goldstar now we are approaching I would guess 1000 bikes out there in the wild I guess there's a big enough customer base for it to be worthwhile. Ah the owners review, I haven't done a video that serious for quite a while, it's quite important and not one I want to mess up! We are at 960 miles as of today, trip out tomorrow to drop Suzie somewhere as the car is broken! That's another video haha 😂. Thanks 🙏👍

    Thanks for the mention Sean, glad you found my video on the suspension upgrade useful.
    I'll be interested to see what changes you make to the Goldie. They're a great bike and I can see your loving yours just like I do mine.
    Great channel and I love that you take the bike away with you to some fabulous, and warm, places.

      Thanks Rog, appreciate the comment. I'll be checking out some more of your videos when it's time to make the changes to the BSA. They are very helpful and clear so thanks for that 🙏. I do really love the BSA, it's a bike that you really seem to fall for 😊, hope yours is going well. Cheers, Sean

    Personally I love the Goldie just he way it is 👍, and understand the need to add or change parts to improve functionality. Been there done all that "accessorising the new bike" 😮.Look forward to seeing the slow progressive changes 👍

      Hi Bob, my last bike (and the one before that actually), £100s spent within 1-2months of owning the bike(s) 😮😮. I sold the bikes and struggled to recoup any money from the parts. My BSA which I bought second hand actually had accessories with it, you have the screen 😄 and the rear rack I use all the time, so handy. As far as the speed of changes it will be slow and very steady, most likely when we visit the UK to have a sort out of all our stuff in summer I'll pick up a few parts. Any progress on your bike decision by the way? Sean

    I can see why the 650 is a progression from the 350.
    I really enjoyed the BSA, I just hope the brand gets more foundation.
    Ti's very nice. I think this was filmed in Devon considering the scenery and wheather.

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  4 месяца назад

      Thanks ER, I think they are doing a 350 bike perhaps with the name Victor but details are sketchy. What bugs me about BSA is the own goals they make around silly stuff like user manuals being wrong, at least 1 dealer has quit due to bad treatment, the recent warranty confusion (2 year or 4 year) and still no engine bars available despite everyone saying they are. Suzie wanted to order a Goldstar hoodie the one we could find in stock and it was actually quite hard work to order it, very much like oh Janice in the office is heading to the post office next Friday so we can send it then. No system in place to mail order apparel or accessories. They seem to always promise the best and then when it doesn't materialise people are put out. The bike is fantastic it's the package around it that needs to mature. I will continue to support them, love the big single and having a BSA badge is just a treat for me. Hope things have picked up on your end! 🤞. Sean

I think I'm summer on a nice day Portinatx would be amazing, it was still enjoyable when I went, loads of lovely little coves on the way up there as well. Thanks again for the suggestion, I probably wouldn't have visited if you hadn't of said! 👍🙏

    Ohh I stayed there in that hotel by the beach very nice place Sean a good few years ago but I would go back it was a fab holiday .The Legacy does look nice the engine case I think maybe polished ally rather than chrome to me but the all black one would be my choice I think and a good price too will I do it and get one I think a good riding session would be needed and 54 horses is that enough in and amongst todays cars since my pet hate is having cars up my backside 😁👌👍Cool !

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  4 месяца назад

      Thanks Crumbly, I went up to Portinatx on a bit of a cloudy and blustery day but the beach looked lovely, I could imagine staying there. Good point about the engine case, I tend to use 'chrome' to mean shiny bits but that's incorrect and really polished alloy is better as you can always bring it back with autosol and perhaps lacquer if needed. The shadow black BSA Goldstar 650 has courted controversy recently as it seems it doesn't come with the 4 year warranty, only bikes made in 2023 have that 😟. It has the standard 2 year warranty. Cheers, Sean

    Sean another great video and given the amount of joy the BSA brings you it has to be excellent value. I like your thinking with the changes/ upgrades. You might consider, MICHELIN ANAKEE WILD tyres, they will provide all the grip you need. Cheers Greg

      @MindfulMotorcyclist  4 месяца назад

      Thanks Greg, appreciate the comment and the BSA does make me smile. Let's hope the company survives and the bike ownership keeps growing. Yes I did think of Anakee Wilds they were in the short list, I went with another option along those lines because I had vouchers from Suzie's mum that reduced the price that was a big deciding factor. Thanks for the support. Regards, Sean

    I’ll be interested to hear about your opinions on new tires. I enjoyed riding dirt roads on the Interceptor, but was not confident with the feeling the stock tires gave. There I go bashing the Pirellis again! 😂

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  4 месяца назад

      Thanks Mark for the comment, that's interesting 🤔. I rode on nobbly tyres TKC80s before on a Yamaha XSR700 and it was weird and felt skittish, but then I was riding at 70mph on a 74hp bike. This time I'm going for 'blocky' tyres with at least a little on road performance on a lot slower bike. Even saying that I'm setting my expectations that it will kill the road holding, if I get any better than that I'll be pleasantly surprised. Regarding the Pirelli, it's weird that Royal Enfield, Triumph and BSA owners all bash them, I thought it was all nonsense until I fell off under unusual circumstances 😂 now I am a bit more aware that OEM spec tyres might not be what they are cracked up to be. When you feel the tyres on this bike, they feel like black plastic not rubber. The tyres on my sports bike, totally different application I know, but they felt almost like chewing gum you could see the tyre wear as it textured the surface. I could've gone for Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres as my new off road option for the BSA but I'm off the brand since what happened. Dont want to put my money into them again...

    All great ideas, subtle being the game. What about the tail tidy?

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  4 месяца назад +1

      My Dad keep saying this, he's got a thing about the large number plates 😄. I like a big plate and tail tidy as it stops anything flinging up. I doubt I'll do all the ideas, perhaps very slowly one by one see where it leads me. I am a little concerned that I'll damage the frame if I do too much fiddling and off road stuff.

  • @ianhalliwell8604

    I'm not really interested in scrambling, off roading, green laneing so won't be bothered doing that to my GoldStar but the bar end mirrors i have thought about, but which ones, any ideas ? Also saw those stickers and the gold star ones really are very nice indeed. Like you Sean mines a keeper.

      Hi Ian, I heard that the frame isn't made for it so I won't be pushing it too far either. Actually a spot of luck I had some bar end mirrors offered to me today, I only saw the picture not the name so I don't actually know the brand but they do fit into the original captive nuts in the handlebar. Sorry Dass, I don't know anything about it other than its a 350 supposedly. If the Victor was a scrambler style bike and it's 350cc well it needs to be priced at £4000 or there abouts to sell. I hope they price it correctly. Do you have a source or article for this victor info? Thanks 👍

    Sean, you mentioned grip wraps as a potential change. Are you thinking of the Trip Machine tape wraps?. If you are I have a comment. I’ve fitted them to my Bullet and they look great!. There is a problem however, with any gloves the grips slips easily as the wraps are so smooth. As a result I am always having to re grip or just grip very hard which really isn’t comfortable. With bare hands there is no problem but that’s not the safest way to ride.

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for sharing that Ryan, that's helped a lot. I saw a video on the grip wraps and I saw that they are not so easy to secure and make them look neat when your grips are stock BSA profile. I might instead just go for replacement grips, brown being the colour of choice. It wont look as good as the trip machine stuff but I wouldn't want to be struggling for grip. Thanks 🙏👍
