Great video. You are a natural teacher. Your lessons are well researched, delivered in a concise, logical and engaging way. Thanks for all the effort and passion you put into making all us better gardeners. 👩🌾
Aw thank you Jason for stepping in and helping out in staking the tree. You are awesome as is your wife and you must be so proud of all that she does. You as well. You both enjoy the rest of the day and have a wonderful evening. Thank you for your loads of information every video my friend.
Love this video on staking that beautiful Red Bud tree. I planted one last year and did the the same, and mine is nice and healthy from the staking. Mine is a Rising Son. Even though we are in different Zones (6) we still have some things in common and I love to learn from you. You will be a valuable asset in your Master Gardening Society, and it will be exciting to tag along on your journey, with your landscaping projects, cut flower garden, and your tour that you will be having. Oh, what a wonderful husband you have for getting his hands in the dirt(soil) with ya! 💚
Always love to see a supportive garden husband, Jason's a wonderful guy 😊 Yep I see a new career in your future, the love for gardening just pours out of you. Your garden tour people will leave with a ton of info, bet your on the tour every yr now.
When you commented on rear ends bumping into things it made me think of my grandma who used to live in Arizona. She leaned down to smell a flower and as she leaned down her rear end bumped into a cactus and had all the cactus spines/needles stick into her rear end and she had to go to the ER to get them removed 😬
Janey, it was so nice to put a face with the name Jason, before we've only seen a figure in the background painting the fence. It's great to meet him since he's definitely part of the gardening dream team. I hope your sweet family has a wonderful weekend! ~Margie🤗💐🐝🦋
Good morning, Janey! Today I turned 65yrs old, and what was the first thing I wanted to do at 3:00am? Yes, that's right, I wanted to see your bright and beautiful smile 😊 Thx for the videos! Have a wonderful day ❣️
Lisa, I just subscribed to your channel. Like I did with Janey's channel, I'm going to sit down with a cup of coffee and binge watch your videos. 🍂🍁🌾 Happy Fall!
I love hearing all the info you research and share. The tree is such a pretty yellow right now! Great job as always, nice to see Jason’s by your side.❤
Really good information on staking trees. Those stakes were massive. I think using the longest auger you have to start the holes would make the job easier.
🤣this explains why my mil had staked trees for years but they never got any bigger! They were just like babies forever. Still! Lol I have to let her know! Thanks Janey!
Hi, enjoy your teachings on gardening. In one of the tutorials you showed us the flowering maple, such a beautiful shrub.Thank you for all your effort and passion so that we can all become better gardeners.Really like all of your ideas on your landscaping for the honeysuckle vines for the hydrangeas. Oh wow Janey! I think I’ve left my tree stake in too long 😮 Going out to remove it today! 😊 Thanks for this info!! Also, that’s really cool that Jason is wearing your merch!! 😂
Great job Janey!! We have a ton of wind here, so any new tree we put up, ends up with some kind of staking for at least a season, if its still a bit wonky, we might go a second season after some readjusting. Our wind can be brutal though. I think that tree was a great choice and it has beautiful Fall color! Our Eastern Redbud is also beautiful and has the same Fall color. I love that Jason was sporting your Merch! Gotta represent!
This is a great educational video for tree staking. This would have come in handy a few years ago as we've had lots of staking struggles in our yard with high wind.
Great job! When I had to stake a pomegranate tree that had been bent over from tons of fruit, I used my power auger to pre-drill holes to get those huge stakes started in the ground. But it worked & required less banging with a sledge hammer!
With staking less is more, for sure! In my case I have an area of my garden where everything leans because of the sun exposure so in the late winter when I remove the strap on my decorative plum, I will probably leave the stake until I'm sure the trunk will continue to grow straight and I can put the strap back on as needed. I just have the one stake against the lean, so the wind is able to work it's magic unimpeded.
I’m in SoCal and it’s dropping down in the 30’s! My daughter is in Austin Tx and it’s in the 80’s 😂 I love the cold weather. I hope we have a 2014 repeat. We got lots of snow ❄️
Nice to meet you Jason. If your newly planted trees lose all of their leaves in the winter do you really need to stake it ? Without the leaf canopy I would think that it would be less venerable to high winds? 🍁🍂🍁🦃💚🙃

You already sound like a Master Gardener! 🥰 I was surprised you did not use your auger to make the holes for the stakes.

I’m curious how your tree is looking now! All the spring growth on my redbud is pulling her down.
Where do I buy the zip tie kit that you used and does it come with the stakes?
You guys are soooo cute!
Hi Janey! Just wondering where you bought the tree staking kit.
I got mine at my local garden center green acres, check your local store! 💗
Hi jason
Those could probably be cut down ( the stakes!)
She may want to reuse them on a taller tree at some point? 🍁🍂🍁🦃💚🙃
