One big reason I watch your videos is to see plants, flowers, and color this time of year. Currently, it’s 4 degrees in Minneapolis, and no snow, everything is brown.
The only problem with a New Englander watching your California garden channel is that I get so jealous in the winter!!!! So cold and ground frozen here so I'm just dreaming :)
Beautiful garden center! Blooms this time of year are so exciting. Central Illinois is covered in 8-10 inches of snow and really cold. Mother Nature is in charge. I actually love the changing seasons. When I need a change I can watch you take me to garden center or buy myself a bouquet at the grocery store. You are a busy woman. Love your channel. Thank you.
I think you’ll really enjoy the Daphne. I have two variegated ones planted on the walkway to my front door and people always ask me what smells so good. I got a good laugh at you saying “NO” to the Camellias.😊
Good morning, Janey☕️I can’t wait to be able to go to my garden center. Currently 23° here in Boston so… no getting in the garden today. I’m interested in those Daphne’s. That’s my dogs name. She’s a Great Dane. 😂
Elk Grove Green Acres is my favorite also. Plus, close to my daughter’s house, so I can visit the grandkids too. Glad to see the Daphne’s price is lower this time of year. Thanks for showing all the glorious plants today. I keep my pomegranate in tree form also.
Love Elk Grove Green Acres. If you haven't been, check out Big Oak Nursery, one exit down south on 99 (Grant Line Road). It's a family run nursery and they're very helpful. In the summer you can visit the Strawberry Farm that's close by, delicious berries! 🍓😋
You said you have been cooped up all winter. I chuckled at that. I live in New Hampshire and it’s only the beginning of winter. Winter lasts here until March.
So jealous of your garden centres in January ! 😭 I have 2 Daphnes (zone 6) which I purchased in the first year of Covid. They performed beautifully with pink flowers in spring and red berries after. Good choice !!
Hi Janey, we are having one week of winter 🥶 over here in Texas so no gardening this week for me, I will be doing clean up next week. But glad to see you guys are enjoying your garden. 🪴🪻🪻🪻🌱
Awe can't wait to see that color in your garden our Garden Center is closed. Walmart hasn't even begun to bring anything. Got to make a run to Amarillo, Texas. Thank you Jamie for the video. Have a wonderful day! 😊👋💐
The next time I visit a garden center I’m going to hum the cheerful music from this video and pretend that you are shopping right along with me! Thank you for taking us to Green Acres. Wow that place has an incredible selection of plants! 😍🇨🇦
Glad to find your channel via Cottage Gardens of Petaluma. Love the Daphne selections! I got a perfume princess 2 years ago (santa Rosa) favorite plant by far as it’s resistant to insects, beautiful dark green leaves all year and right now in full bloom, super fragrant I can smell easily 15’ away!🌸
I got a little daphne odora maejima two years ago and I LOVE it. Its in a spot it gets really good drainage and morning sun. The only problem is I'm moving and I've read they despise being moved. So I cant take the chance of bringing it with me and killing it. Will have to get another for the new house. Wish I had space for four of them! Eternal fragrance should bloom off and on spring to fall.
That was such a peaceful drive (or at least it looked like it from the view you showed!) Thank you so much for bringing us along, seeing all the color was so good for me today! I agree I would have chosen the pink primrose too!
Oh my goodness, you are at green acres my favorite place, I am drooling!!! 😛😛😛 Good to know about the roses planting them this time. I did not know that. Happy Spring Gardening everyone!!! 💚🌈🥰 Liz
Thanks for the tip on the waterproof gloves. I was just looking for some waterproof gloves but didn’t find anything that was pretty 😊 so I passed on them. I will definitely be looking for these.
Loved this one. I would like to see more different plants that you choose and how you mix them in with other plants. I like a lot of the grasses you like. But some are annuals here in Kentucky. But I do love getting ideas thanks so much.
Thank you so very very much for speaking to what plants are invasive. I do not like weeding anything including plants I paid good money for. I don’t believe this subject is discussed enough on RUclips, other than the mint family. I also think if Proven Winners has bred some of the invasiveness out of a variety it would be wonderful to mention.
Love Green Acres. Have you been to Hydro City just down the highway a few miles? No seed starting mix, but great prices on potting soil. I buy my Fox Farm there. Worth the drive for both businesses.
So glad you know about vinca minor! I'm inundated with it, ugh! Ditto ivy!! Love "just say no"! Daphne is such a good choice for the January blooming garden. Fragrance is divine. Enjoy all four.
My favorite gloves for gardening are Youngstown leather gloves! Roses and wild blackberries don’t poke my hands and the seams don’t wear out as fast. I don’t notice that they get super wet but they certainly aren’t waterproof.
Hi Janey, UK viewer here and so jealous of your wonderful garden centre. I’ve been watching/following you for so long I knew it would be Green Acres before I saw the entrance! I’ve just ordered my ranunculus and anemone corms that I can’t wait to get started, are you doing them this year? The raised bed you made at your previous had some beautiful ones in. Deb
I'm really intrigued by the nemesia. That's not one I'm familiar with but it is a temperennial for me in zone 10 FL. I just placed a seed order last night and now I need to do another one. Thanks Janey lol
It looks so warm and sunny there! We are expecting snow this Friday here in Georgia!!! Super rare so kinda exciting! Hope my plants and trees think so! Love the shopping videos!!,❤❤❤
9b here vinca mina is a real.pain why anyone would ever plant is beyond me, been trying to erradicate it for many years , even remove roots and still keeps coming back... have bamboo and it.stays in one corner and is always green no trouble at all.
I tried to eradicate bamboo in my back yard for over 25 + years. Came from my back yard neighbor's yard. Still there. I sold the house and moved. I hated that stuff!
Hey Janey! Thanks for the garden center tour! I was trying to send you some pictures through Instagram but I think the message has to be approved or something. I tried your email but I hit an email back saying your email is not working or unable to receive messages.
The formula for the right amount of Camellias is as follows. ( Number of Camellias you own + 1 = amount you need)
BEST. COMMENT. EVER. 🤣🌸
That Ensete ventricosum is going to go bananas in your garden! (See what I did there?)
Har har love it! Thanks for all the inspo Erin!
One big reason I watch your videos is to see plants, flowers, and color this time of year. Currently, it’s 4 degrees in Minneapolis, and no snow, everything is brown.
lol you sped up the video when you were driving and I was like OMG Janey is a crazy driver she is really hauling ass to get to the garden center lol
I'm dying at this comment LOL
Oh my gosh I thought the same thing !!!
OMG I was thinking the same thing when I was editing! I almost wrote "don't worry, I wasn't speeding" 🤪
Same
LOL.. I was getting a little diizzy.
The only problem with a New Englander watching your California garden channel is that I get so jealous in the winter!!!! So cold and ground frozen here so I'm just dreaming :)
ok love the video format, driving to the nursery felt like I was going with :)
🤗

Ooh that sounds COLD Ken! I lived in Milwaukee for one winter and the most we got that year was 3 inches of snow (thank goodness!!🥶) Stay warm!
I think you’ll really enjoy the Daphne. I have two variegated ones planted on the walkway to my front door and people always ask me what smells so good. I got a good laugh at you saying “NO” to the Camellias.😊
Your reaction to vinca minor is pretty much my reaction to bamboo.
Bamboo is an absolute NIGHTMARE for a gardener! I learned from friends to always say no! Those rhizomes will outlive us all and never ever leave.
Janey, I’m glad you’re doing the monthly garden plantings again. This is a fun segment! ❤😂❤
Thanks Barb! 💗
These are my fav videos. I love going to the garden centre with u!!!😂

oh, the hope of spring lingers in my brain as it’s 13° this morning here in Missouri awesome trip to the greenhouse. I can’t wait to start planting.
No garden here, covered in snow and ice with more snow coming until the end of January. I loved seeing all the beautiful plants and color.
The nice thing about Angelina for us zone 6'ers. It is hardy through our winters unlike lemon coral. 😉
Ooh I didn't know that! Thanks for the info!
@@DigPlantWaterRepeat Hardy 3a-11b!
Here in Ohio with a few inches of snow ❄️ on the ground so living vicariously through you girl!
Yep. Same here in sw Pa. !!
You said you have been cooped up all winter. I chuckled at that. I live in New Hampshire and it’s only the beginning of winter. Winter lasts here until March.
The fact that Janey is lifting all the heavy bags with just one hand! 💪 🎀
🤣
Awesome. Love going along for the ride. Thanks for sharing the shopping.
LOL "Now that I am here......" I've heard that one before And I say all of the time!!!! CK
Omg I LOVEEEE GREEN ACRESS
Thank you!! So nice to see all the Color!!! So craving it here in MN!!
Just say no to - wisteria, ivy( unless in pots only!) vinca minor, some morning glories too!
Loved the garden center tour! You look bad ass in your cute shades Janey! ❤❤❤
Hi Janey🌺 . I miss your tour to the garden center .The Daphne and the primula Plants are going to be amazing in your garden .Have a geat day . 🌻🪻🌻
Thanks Lina! Have a good day!
Good morning Janey,, such pretty flowers
Thank you for sharing this with us ❤
Green Acres always has experts on trees, soil, pests, etc. They know their stuff.
So jealous of your garden centres in January ! 😭 I have 2 Daphnes (zone 6) which I purchased in the first year of Covid. They performed beautifully with pink flowers in spring and red berries after. Good choice !!

In my head every time 😆

I love that you gave us a tour, you saved me a 3 hour drive lol
Thanks for taking me shopping with you!. Fun!!❤M

In the Phoenix metro low desert (9b) elephant food is our best choice for ground cover. It can withstand sun and drought conditions.

Wow u live a long ways from the garden center.
You mentioned your lavender river and that made me think of prairie dropseed grass as a possibility. Not sure if it would grow in your zone.
So fun to see you driving past me to my favorite plant stop!
Such beautiful plants. Love it when you go to the garden center. I always see something new. Thank You
Loved this one. I would like to see more different plants that you choose and how you mix them in with other plants. I like a lot of the grasses you like. But some are annuals here in Kentucky. But I do love getting ideas thanks so much.
Love these sorts of videos, thank you!
Janey, you should try lined kitchen gloves for comfortable weeding in wet weather. Makes weeding more pleasurable 💕
🤯 I will do this! I love my lined kitchen gloves that I use! THANK YOU!
Great idea that I never would have thought of! Thank you!!
Loving trip !❤😊❤

I’m taking notes always. I love following you.
I didn't understand your obsession with camelias until I visited the gardens in Otlando. I'm from the Caribbean and have never seen the plant.
Loved my daphne. Lost mine to an ice storm after 25 years.😢
My garden only had vinca minor when I moved in 3 years ago. I’m still trying to get rid of it. Ugh.
I had a Daphne once, and loved it! I hope I can grow it here in NC!
I love the Green Acres Nursery in Elk Grove. They not only have the plants that I like but the best customer service.
I LOVE it! It's like autopilot to Green Acres... in high speed. LOL You had me stressing out for a minute there. Hahaha
I was considering the 90-minute drive to Green Acres in Elk Grove. I'm definitely headed there this week!
Love Green Acres. Have you been to Hydro City just down the highway a few miles? No seed starting mix, but great prices on potting soil. I buy my Fox Farm there. Worth the drive for both businesses.

Lucky you to not live to far from. I took many notes gonna try to find a few items you purchased, can’t wait to see where all gets planted

Thumbs 👍 up
❤sucker for white cyclamen..i am not a fan of seed starting mixes..i use potting soil and add perlite
That color of primrose is gorgeous ❤
❤❤love primrose❤even the leaves are frilly
I think Daphne is difficult in Atlanta area so will be interested to watch yours grow
Janey, have you heard pf Bunny Tail grass its so pretty. Laura grew some from gifted seeds one year. I thought it was pretty.
I thought you needed elbow high heavy duty gloves for trimming your rose bushes?
Could you grow lamium as a ground cover in your zone, gives you the variegated leaves like the ivy with white pink and purple flowers?
I was at green acres 10.00 the 7th
I love this❤
I know that Green Acres! I hear Daphne is very particular
On my way to the garden center but not to buy plants…90% off Christmas Decorations. It’s 20° in Howell, MI too cold for planting flowers.

Hi Janey, if you decide you really want Blue Fescue Elijia Blue it’s super easy to grow from seed😀
Really? Hmm.. that moves it up on my consideration list then! Thank you!
If I use just rose tone and the slo-po-mag will that be enough for the roses
Garden center without a list is like going to Costco you won’t leave without spending way too much money👩🏼🌾🤣
❤
Gardenias
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why no to the Carmelia why why 😅
You didn’t come home with the Banana tree 🤭
You have to be careful of Erin. She got me hooked on Dahlias. Such a bad influence 😂😂😂
You look like a indy driver so funny
My husband said lead foot lady
Completely motion sickness!😢
مسيرةم فقة🩷🩷🌷🌷🌷👍🏼👍🏼☕️
🌸💕💕👩🌾
Great video!!
I have to complement how gorgeous your skin is!!
Wanna share your secret ☺️?!?
Great self control....Just say no. Even in the winter it is difficult to stay focused at the nursery.😂
I can't believe garden centers even sell vinca! It is the worst invasive that I have ever seen being sold on purpose! So many other good choices
Hey Janey! Thanks for the garden center tour! I was trying to send you some pictures through Instagram but I think the message has to be approved or something. I tried your email but I hit an email back saying your email is not working or unable to receive messages.
lol! Saw you driving right to my green Acres! This really cracked me up Janey! Have fun, I’ll be right behind you soon! 🪴💐👩🏻🌾🪴
