Gira himself said this was the best performance of this song and his favorite of Swans’ history(up until that point at least). Unfortunate that we never got a proper recording of it but at least we can still bask in its existence.
@@jpk51The lyrics seem to be talking about Christ on the cross (a blood promise). Also, the sampling in the intro to the song about us being lambs who have lost our way is referencing verses from the Bible (such as Isaiah 53:6).

I don’t see it that way since the lyrics are addressing a lover (can’t really see anything about it that opens it to other interpretations), but the introductory sample does make sense in that context. Gira let ng uses religious imagery in his lyrics but not to convey a religious expression that I can recall.
