Swans is in some ways I feel the antithesis to godspeed. While swans is all about the raw strength required to hold out a riff for 20 minutes while its deafiningly loud, godspeed is more about waiting for the crescendo. The small imperfections in the recording, the slow build up. Every single note being observed by itself. I love both bands but for completely different reasons
Agree. Spent a few months thinking this was the scariest work ever and was thinking how much more they could influence the track in the studio to make it the most reflectively epic piece of modern music ever. It is a shadow of this performance. Not disappointed, cause this will live on (thank you for this GYBE and the recording) but was surprised by the album version.
These are the most critical live performances which people around the world are grateful and fearful to see as we speak and each day as the tour continues. Peace

goddamnit, what a monster of a song o__O
They just raised the bar 3xfold for themselves with this track_
They definitely went a little bit metal for this track in specific.
If this song makes it to an official release as it is, it is going to be huge and one of their best!

I'm about to listen for the first time. That's a high bar you done did set there.
17:58 I LOVE a Godspeed arpeggio in the strings. Each piece has one I feel like.
I also noticed that. Especially in high action moments when the entire band just goes nuts, the strings just hold the harmony down so well

also if strings are your thing hangedup was an early constellation band as well. viola and drums but with lots of effects. they were great.
The song is heavy as fuck but from 20:30 onwards I think I ascended to another plane... Really moving...

When they released God's Pee, i was so scared it was the end. I'm so happy to ear new materials from them as soon as now.
