I can’t begin to thank you enough for this amazing tutorial. I was desperate for an affordable hobby to alleviate my anxiety and tried knitting. It was a major fail then I thought crochet might be a good alternative. I have watched many videos and they were difficult to catch up with until I got to this wonderful tutorial. It was easy to follow and it’s been 4 months and I’m so proud to say, I’m a crocheter. But I wanted to stop by to just write a big expression of gratitude because if it hadn’t been for this basket weave, I would’ve given up. Thank you so so much Bella Coco for taking the time to record this and make it accessible to people like myself.

I started a couple of years ago and I love it, too. I had to laugh out loud when I read the affordable part 😅 Yes, it can totally be cheap, but, oh man, it can be so expensive, too 😂😂😂

@ hHHaa I know!!! A year later and yes it’s super expensive but you got to wait for the sales to get stocked up. It’s also super addictive and I’ve run out of people to give crocheted things to. I’m talking like deli ladies at the supermarket, I’m really scraping the barrel 😂

My grandmother, mother and aunt have tried to teach me how to crochet and failed. I was looking for a hobby that would help me relax and I saw your videos so I gave it a try. I just finished my very first blanket (and second project as a whole), for my mother and she loved it. So first timers bloopers - it's very large. Wish I could include a pic, I'm very proud of it. Thanks so m7ch. Would love a tutorial for a shawl with a lacey look but for beginners like me.

I’ve been working at the same grocery store for the past 33 years. It was about six weeks ago I watched your video of how to make a granny square and I’m currently making one of gold and ivory big enough to fit my queen size bed. Just yesterday a lady and her newborn baby came through my line with a crocheted blanket made with a stitch I’d never seen. She told me that she made it! This morning on my RUclips feed I saw the same stitch from this tutorial. A whole new world has opened up for me and I am enjoying every minute of it! :-)

Sometimes, it's just a question of what you want showing up in your feed more than not liking the video itself. Not liking a video means you'll see less content of a similar nature. From what I've seen, only the British use British terminology, the rest of the world uses US terms, so a dislike means they'll see less British, not that they hate the stitch or the video itself. Lol, long-winded explanation, but I hope it helps

My mom's friend taught me how to crochet. Now I'm making all sorts of things. My mom taught me how to knit. She's too busy to ever finish anything but I went and found out how to read patterns and new stitches on my own. I love both.

Thank you for this tutorial. I have managed to get a swatch made and for a beginner I think I did ok. I started crocheting just 4 years ago and am self taught through the You tube. I had 2 years of very stressful crocheting because I was not familiar with all terms. But I am confident now. I see your tutorials and learnt a lot. I keep coming back to your site because you are very clear in your instructions. Thank you very much. I learnt granny squares too from you and just completed a Bunny Lovey. It got many appreciations from my circle.

@@bellacococrochet yes I have mustered enough courage to crochet a pineapple shawl following Jonna Martinez. I am starting it tonight. It would be my fulfilment of satisfaction when I complete this shawl. I am in admiration and awe of this design with all the delicate lacy loops. But I will do it though it is going to take time. I have alloted only 2 hours of crocheting time for myself each day.
Along this 4 years of crocheting I had accumulated swatches of different sizes and patterns because I wanted to learn different stitches. Most of them could not be continued because of one mistake that I would have done somewhere down the line. I wiuld stop crotching that swatch. After spending hours and stressing myself I could not throw them away. So I have put them all together into a blanket and have named it "My Masterpiece of Mistakes". It looks ok and my family and friends have given me the thumbs up. It does not look professional but my craft. I would like to show a photographer of it to you . I am 68 years old now and started learning crochet when I was 64. I am from India and at present in Australia with my son and his family. Thank you for being in my journey. May you and your husband and child evolve to be Wholesome Souls and have Enough of everything so that you may share them with all you touch. God bless. I love your colour combinations which are so pleasing to the eyes and mind.
