I’m 16 going on 17. Started vaping when I was younger because my father used to leave his around and I tried it when I was around 10-11. I barely ever did it but after I suffered through a major trauma of losing my house and everything I had to a fire when I was 12, then months later losing my father to suicide, it’s what I turned too. Ive been smoking weed and vaping since I was 13, tried it with some friends because at the time cause I could care less about anything as it felt my whole world was just collapsing. It’s been my escape for a long time which is hard to admit, but I found it helped me, I’ve always had a good job so money was never an issue, and my friends knew the best people to get it from. I have probably smoked around 20 ounces and many many bottles of juice around 50mg. I haven’t had any problems. I know the risks but unfortunately I’m addicted. Gives me a chance to mellow out and relax which is definitely not the best way and I understand. But now I just feel I’m on a decline and sometimes just feels I’m doing it cause I need it. But giving up that feeling is like taking away the protective wall I’ve built for myself over the years. That mindset of “I have somewhere to turn when I’m Sad, Bored or Mad or whatever” because it makes it all better, it’s a habit. And it’s really hard, and I want to ask for help to find better alternatives, but at the same time I don’t, that wall feels like the only thing protecting me.

Most, if not, all the folks with lung damage from vaping smoked vaping devices that contained vitamin e acetate, an additive in some thc containing e-cigs. The vitamin e acetate were found in the lungs of people who developed lung damage from vaping. Vaping in general is not a good idea. If it does help a cigarette smoker to quit, and they then ultimately quit vaping, then I’d say that’s a success. And avoid thc containing ecigs if you feel that vaping may be the best way for you to quit cigarettes

It's not going to be better I'm afraid. It seems like this think is from the thc cartiges who had inside vitamin e or something that could cause lungs injury. Try speaking with a doctor about it. This illness shouldn't be from flavour VG or PG. I think vaping MIGHT still be better thank smoking. My suggestion is to go for a 70/30 VG/Demineralised Water solution to avoid PG (they say Pg is fine but is still made from oil and you could experience intolerance to it) and avoid flavouring cause we don't know anything about those since there's not a precise law about stating exactly what's the composition of flavours. I think VG that's from vegetables (take pharmaceutical grade and say in the pharmacy that you're buying VG for vaping) and Demineralised Water (get that too at the pharmacy) with some nicotine (depending on how much you smoke) would be better than the chemicals in cigarettes. Avoid juul pods who can kill people because they have too much nicotine and try something around 6mg/ml of nicotine. You can either drop or increase this value depending on your needs.

Then it is like i cant get a deep enough breath to cough.. something not right here. Never experienced anything like this while i was a heavy smoker for 38 years.

Yes, it's stupid for teens to use vaping products so early. But this didn't happen because of it, it happened because one of his buddies got a black market cartridge/vape pen and it destroyed his lungs.
I think this will help shed some light to other teens who believe vaping is not dangerous. The problem is most of these kids will not feel or see the affects it is having on their lung/body. The same thing happened with cigarettes years ago. Big tabacco will always find a way to sell something as "not dangerous", get people and kids hooked and then it's already too late the damage has been done.
I am 32, been smoking marijuana since I was 11 (don't judge me, I know it was early so what) picked up smoking cigs when I was 18. I was a pack a day smoker for about 9 years. finally quit cold turkey after idk hundreds of attempts?! I have been off cigs since end of 2016. 2018, a buddy let me rip the hell out of his Juul at killington resort. Idk why I did but.... it started my (2) 5% pods a day problem, (3) 4 packs a week... every other day. that would be a $240 a month habit (car payment). I am still holding a juul in my hand as I type this. I have been feeling some scary pains around or behind my rib cages. it goes away but comes back. I am very active and in great shape otherwise. I attributed the pain to be muscle related due to having a very strenuous job. I can take deep breaths and not feel sharp pain. but sometimes when I hit the juul, the pain is there. I rarely buy marijuana flower anymore, I take massive dabs of some good live resin, maybe some other concentrates with like 14% terpenes which gives it a nice smell and great flavor. I have thought about lung damage a lot lately which brings me to this vid. this is some scary ish.
With all due respect you probably just messed your lungs up smoking weed and tobacco, it’s not too late though with vaping I’ve been doing it 7 years now still going strong I don’t cough I’m not struggling from vaping at all. As for your ribcage problem.... hello global pandemic I got hit with covid in September last year couldn’t breathe properly for 3 months but if vaping really messed me up I wouldn’t have survived. Vaping is safe it’s Vitamin E acetate and THC in liquids that causes the problem they just want them banned so people end up spending way more on tobacco.
I hope you're doing okay. You should seek medical attention right now and get a radiography (I hope that's how it's called) to your lungs. Juul pods are indeed very dangerous due to nicotine though. 5% means that a ml of e juice has 60mg of nicotine in it. A lethal dose for an adult is between 30-60mg so If you vape a ml of that fast enough you'll die or end up in coma for nicotine poisoning. A juul pod contains 0.7 ml so the nicotine in the pod is around 40 mg. Inhaling a lot of nicotine can give you a tight chest, tachicardia, nausea and more (Just search nicotine poisoning and see if you got those symptoms when you vape). You could try avoiding PG and flavouring by going with VG and Demineralised Water without flavor and a nicotine quantity of 6 mg/ml, then eventually drop it or increase it depending on your situation. Find a vape shop with people with knowledge and get help from them to eventually prepare the mixture. You can buy VG and Demineralised Water in the pharmacy. VG must be of pharmaceutical grade. Be sure you're getting VG good for vaping by asking in the pharmacy. In my country more than 20mg/ml is illegal and you could still end up in a hospital for chain vaping a 18mg/ml pod. Let me know how you're doing
I hope you can quit dude. Vaping doesn't have enough research to know of its completely safe or not like tobacco which has severaldecades of research behind it's damage. Love your Baltimore ravens image btw!

@StealthQSC it really isnt, its 95% safer, and it really isnt dangerous as people say it is, they just heard it is because they dont know the difference between a thc cart and vg/pg e liquid. i guarantee you that no one has ever been hospitalized vaping genuine vg/pg e liquids, its always and only thc carts.
It sounds like you are trying to make vaping sound like it is better than smoking cigarettes which is a load of garbage! Just watch any health expert or doctor talk about vaping.
@@kjl6039 I don’t think you read what he said he isnt promoting vaping , he’s just saying that vaping black market stuff also contributes to lung injury
Ok I watched the video, I see why ppl saying this is bullshit. It’s not the vape itself, it’s what u putting in it. On top of that, he admitted that he didn’t buy his own vapes. That’s a tell tale sign within itself. Anybody who smokes, no matter what it is, they purchase their own stuff. Based off the info in the video, it seems like he was vaping on vape cartridges and he didn’t know because he never bought his own cartridges. I feel like we need more info because a lot of people vape and have been vaping for long periods of time and this hasn’t happened. I feel like if they were going to share his story they should have told us what he was vaping or what was in his cartridges.
The point is a teen has no business vaping or smoking. And it has been made very clear be careful where you get your cartridges. An irresponsible teen isn't worried about that. So this proves vaping is a danger!

Uhm no don’t this is from thc vaping illegal thc liquid not nicotine or normal vaping liquid

This kid was vaping ILLEGAL THC cartridges that cause EVALI. it's the kids own fault. He shouldn't be vaping in the first place. It's FOR ADULTS.
This whole thing is a lie, I been vaping 8 years and I did get a X-ray on my lungs last week, came back typically normal.
