The characters are interesting. Rooster Teeth is known for sense of humor, so the episodes are a lot of laughter. The story is incredibly developed and the animation is beautiful, fast and accurate. At the beginning of the first season is underdone, but in the other everything will improve (length episodes, background, lighting). The music is wonderful! ♡ And it's dark fantasy. The whole drama begins in the third season .... I love it!
I've watched since the first ever episode was released and it's one of my favorite shows of all time. It was this show that made me start studying animation and I love it and the late Monty Oum for that. I can't wait to see what Volume 4 holds.
And onto a GoBoiano topic, are there any plans for more seiyu videos?
I've been following since episode one the animations have gotten so much better I can't wait for volume 4
The animation style reminds me of the failed Dark Cloud 2 game for the PS2.

It isn't anime. It was made in the US.
+Junktrn Z I know that was created in the US, but this doesn't mean that it is not anime.
Lily White It's not counted as anime unless it was made in Japan intended for a Japanese audience which it was not.
+Junktrn Z Monty Oum would tell that, “Some believe just like Scotch needs to be made in Scotland, an American company can’t make anime. I think that’s a narrow way of seeing it. Anime is an art form, and to say only one country can make this art is wrong.” He may have a point; after all, France and Dubai made anime. Why not America?
Lily White Too bad the thing is anime is only produced in Japan. It's not an art form. Animation made in the U.S would be called cartoons. The Legend of Korra is very anime like but it was produced in the U.S. Anime is not a style, it's animation produced in Japan. Sure it's on Crunchyroll but that's because of a special partnership. You don't see anyone put RWBY on their "Top 10 whatever" anime because it's not anime. It's not on MyAnimeList which is the biggest site for keeping track of things that are anime. France and Dubai have not made anime as it's not animation from Japan.

I've only watched the first season but the storytelling was so bad that I've been too scared to watch the next two yet. The design and animation is lovely though, and the music is absolutely first class. I still listen to the songs all the time.
If you can stick it through Volume 2 as well, Volume 3's got your fix of good storytelling. And kickass music. Oh, and the animation improves with each volume!

RWBY is cheap and borderline good with its concepts but ultimately falls into the traps of writing that revolve around cliche plot devices as well as poor voice acting.
However, it has evolved into a much better show than its first season and a half showcased.
It's also notable that the reason it became such a hit was that the Roosterteeth audience is one of the most overly loyal and commemorative fan bases around. RWBY's best qualities is it's action and music set pieces, becoming rather flawless and unrivaled in the internet market.
Humour is hit and miss, going between being cleverly written and being horrendously cringey. This can also be attributed to the main voice casts lack of experience or real skill.
The overarching plot is fantastic and is eventually fully realized based on its original concept, despite the meandering of the first season and the rather meaningless character melodrama.
It's not a must see, but maybe people will like it.
the problem is people comparing RWBY to other anime is that RT isn't a professional animation studio(though part of the company is dedicated to animation) since almost all of the talent comes from within the company that means it has amateurish writing and voice acting.
i prefer python
