I've been meanig to ask about your brigde. I've noticed your hand is always very far away from the cue ball. Don't we have better control and a more stable bridge of it's closer?
the bridge is just as stable no matter how close it is to the ball. However, the longer bridge you have, the more a minor flaw (movement in your stroke) is exaggerated when it hits the cue ball. It feels more comfortable to me with a longer bridge
The control is better with a shorter bridge, however, I tend to play with a long bridge as well. I've discovered that for me, if I need to get some power into a shot, I have much better control (and success) if I take a longer back swing instead of trying to put more force into the shot or swing harder. Using the longer bridge gives me the same setup on each shot, and I can also keep my stroke speed consistent each time and just adjust the length of the back swing for variations in speed/power.
Rest is a bridge So you didn’t mention “loss of turn “ which was what your opponent tried & failed to execute You also didn’t mention “cannon “ “Brilliant “ also used frequently Plant = combo Bank = double Bank = triple 6 red shoot out? Played at a tied match to determine winner Been watching black pool for 3 years now, love the duel time clock format Best of luck
Josh, I think I'm one of your early subscribers and for the record I don't think you talk too much. It's what makes your videos Josh's videos as opposed to those of the other people doing amateur pool videos. I will also take this opportunity to say I wish you'd joint a pool league again (I know APA is verboten). Tournaments and all are fine, keep doing them, but league 8-ball is another facet that's interesting, at least to me.
That first 9 ball rack where you shooting the 5 on a kind of long, back cut down the rail what works for me is putting a good bit of spin on it like your first attempt but hitting it a bit thicker like your second. And dropping the speed just a bit to let that spin/throw take.
Josh, I am a newbie to real pool, I would say your game is very good but at times inconsistent but that's as you say expected for us amateurs. To your point the more you practice the more consistent you become.. - =Efrain= -
How did you find someone with the same name and a matching hair style? If you got him a short rail shirt, I wouldn’t know who was shooting!
LMAO
He's multiplying!
It looks like he did nick the 4 ball.

Definitely hit the 4 first when shooting the 2 in the side.
Definitely a foul
It did hit the 4 ball. I changed the speed to slow motion and you can see it.
I've only watched 1 minute but my money is on Josh winning...................prove me wrong.

7:39 Here's a great example of why you want to stay down on the shot and following through. Watch him swing upwards.
